Jabrill Peppers' stuff is better than this!!! Wow... |

I'm talking about Marvin Jones, formerly of Cal-Berkely...but yeah that would be a stretch for sure!

| 2 weeks 3 days ago | Bengals have some good ones |
Bengals have some good ones but depth is an issue. AJ Green, Andrew Hawkins, along with Mohammad Sanu & Marvin Jones. Plus, Tyler Eifert will more times than not split out at WR. If Roy can make an impression though, he could enter the mix! |

Just an example of how a team's talent when they play together can be larger than the sum of its parts! Clearly, that describes us in the eyes of NFL talent evaluators. |

I don't even want to think about grey-shirting anyone...so yeah. Hope Gardner doesn't get hurt sounds like the strategy, which obviously isn't the optimal one. Unless another guy doesn't return to the program suddenly, which I also don't want to think about... |

That is an NBA type play! Great game against a great team with horrid officiating both ways. |

Separate question: Will Coach Fisher be there? I know he's no longer associated with Michigan (he's the Head Coach at San Dieg State) but it would be cool if the whole gang was there! |

Do you think this might turn into a Jeremy Clark type situation with him where he eventually earns a scholarship? |

I saw this in the ESPN Rumors section on their website but didn't believe it...Now that I see the facts, I believe it less. |
| 14 weeks 14 min ago | Al Borges is a football lifer |
Al Borges is a football lifer with decades of experience. He was OC at UCLA, where he coached Cade McNown into becoming a first round draft pick. Same thing with Jason Campbell at Auburn. I'd highly recommend Chris Brown's Smart Football chapter on Al and the West Coast. Although Al's time as OC with Denard at QB is over, he has been running the West Coast forever and has probably forgot more about football than many will know in a lifetime. Not sure where you're coming from. |

Shafer mess - http://mgoblog.com/content/preview-2011-secondary "If you believe the message board chatter about Tony Gibson's coaching acumen, Curt Mallory is a huge upgrade. My favorite apocryphal story is that when Scot Shafer resigned he told Rodriguez he would take all the blame publicly if Rodriguez admitted to Shafer that Gibson was "the worst secondary coach in the country." Shortly after his resignation, Shafer did pop up in the News stating it was all his fault. Poppycock? Probably, but you can't rule it out." Saddler stuff - http://www.pittblather.com/2008/02/05/4943/ Sometimes, recruiters’ claims are simply difficult to believe. That’s the way it was with Saddler in two separate conversations with then-West Virginia assistant coach Tony Gibson. He’s now at the University of Michigan. “Coach Gibson told me, ‘We have no guys that can do the same things you do,’ which was just ridiculous. They have all types of players. I looked like clones with these guys. For him to say stuff like that, I kind of was like he’s not serious. “A couple days after he was hired at Michigan, he said, ‘We truly have no guys that can do what you can do.’ Now you tell me the same thing and I’m supposed to believe it?” |

| 14 weeks 3 days ago | Gibson was at Pitt for the |
Gibson was at Pitt for the year after RR was fired and moved to Arizona when RR was hired there last year or so. A whole other branch of that staff went to Arizona State to follow Todd "The Fraud" Graham and Gibson wasn't one of them. I still remember the point Scot Schafer made about Gibson after he was fired as well as the feelings Cam Saddler got about Gibson recruiting him to UM when forming my opinion of Gibson off the field. However, this bit from a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review piece about the recruitment of Tyler Boyd commented my feelings about his whole persona: http://triblive.com/sports/kevingorman/3381973-74/boyd-recruiting-wpial#ixzz2KG17XOyt “In the beginning, I didn't know what questions to ask,” said Payne (Tyler Boyd's mother), a single mother of two young men. “As time went on, it was like, ‘Don't ask anything, and let them present themselves.' That way, you can see what type of person they are and what their pitch is.” When Payne finally was ready, she directed a two-part question to Tony Gibson, the West Virginia secondary coach attempting to convince Boyd to renege on his commitment to Pitt: Are you a man of your word? If so, is that something you're going to teach my son? “His answer was, ‘Of course,' ” Payne said. “I said, ‘Well, that's not something you're teaching him. You're teaching him to go back on his word.' He said, ‘It's just the recruiting process.' ” |
| 14 weeks 5 days ago | Meat Market |
I'd highly recommend reading Bruce Feldman's Meat Market. It covers an entire recruiting cycle at Ole Miss under Ed Orgeron when Freeze was on the staff as tight end and then as receivers coach but was Coach O's recruiting coordinator. There's no doubt the guy can recruit and if his first class is an indication, Ole Miss could overtake Mississippi State as the premier program in that State once again. You can make stacks of money jokes all you want but until there is proof of actual allegations there's no reason to think foul play is involved otherwise. If something does happen down the line, then you can I told you so and everything but for now, Ole Miss is an up and comer. Freeze had a good record at Arkansas State, despite only being there for a short time, and his Ole Miss connections got him this job. He's still gotta prove it on the field though! Recruiting means nothing unless the players produce. |

Is there a stream out there for those without access to ESPNU? I would love to see how the Worldwide Leader is analyzing our kick-ass class. |

I still don't get how OSU has so much room for scholarships this year...I kept on hearing that it would be a small class by normal standards and now I see they have 22 commits with more possibly to come? SEC, meet B1G. |

Sure but this is a recursive argument...You could go on and on but we've been fine with walk-on types (Glanda for instance) as long-snappers and we're going to be spending a scholarship on one? |

Discrimination! Long snapper gets a scholarship but the kicker doesn't! Sue them, I say! |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | Cincinnati Bengals |
Would love to target some help for the back seven or at wide receiver. Since we pick in the middle to later part of the first round, I would like Kenny Vaccaro from Texas or Johnathan Banks from Mississippi State and on offense maybe a Keenan Allen or Justin Hunter if they fall that far. An RB later on would be great too! |
| 18 weeks 5 days ago | Sorry if this is a little off |
Sorry if this is a little off topic but look what happened to Caleb Stacey...HOLY CRAP! He's not at Cincinnati anymore, he's at Mount Saint Joseph, which is a Division 3 school...Wow.
Here it says: "Committed OL Caleb Stacey will not be playing for UC next year as many already reported elsewhere. Apparently, his heart wasn't into football. Sounds like the Oak Hills product won't be playing anywhere. Tough break for Jones and co., they were extremely high on him, as many were." http://www.gobearcats.com/blog/2012/06/conversation-with-butch-jones-part-ii.html |

Agreed. Only thing I would have liked to see is Denard throwing the ball. I used to love those sucker plays where Denard would get the snap in the shotgun and run up as if to run the zone and shoot a pass right past oncoming defenders to a usually wide open receiver....Alas, we could have won this one! |

| 20 weeks 2 days ago | Question |
Why do teams try over and over to run between the tackles at the goal line? I get dominating people but the edge is sometimes very open and teams don't really seem too interested in running the outside zone...Just wondering? |
| 20 weeks 2 days ago | This game is a lot closer |
This game is a lot closer than I think many thought would be! I'm not sure what the line is but in the Yahoo Bowl Pick 'Em I'm in more than 90% of people thought Tech would win. So much for the wisdom of crowds if they can pull this out! |
