It's time to move on. You can break this down as much as you want. Coach Howard threw the punch that started a serious scrum. It wouldn't fly in any other workplace other than the MMA.
Stop with the classes BS. Fields is spot on...they take the game more seriously. They prepare all year for UofM. We don't...and it shows. I am simply wondering where Jim Harbaugh went. Where is the fire...the passion...the "I'm not putting up with your crap?". Ever since he's met the pope it only comes out on reporters asking serious and legitimate questions. Sheesh.
So on one side we have a school supposedly bailing on an athlete before signing day when he doesn't fit their future plans...on the other side we have athletes bailing on the team and the school when playing doesn't fit their future plans. It seems like this is a mucky business that isn't fostering trust or commitment from either side. Time to go back to STUDENT - athlete.
I understand the obvious concern...but to be honest it hasn't impacted our defensive performances (excepting last week). The bigger problem is the offense.
Just Google Michigan's record in night games. It is not just Harbaugh's problem. Michigan has either lost or underperformed in victories throughout much of their history in night games. I see no useful purpose in night games. I also think it has a lot to do with their struggles in the past when they play on the West Coast (ahem...Rose Bowls).
All one has to do is Google "Michigan's Record in Night Games". Someone has already put together a PDF going way back with dates and scores. An intersting investigation would be as to how much these night game adventures have cost us in the national polls. The simple fact is that we have never played well in night games. Even if we win we play it much closer than it should have been played. Bo was right - 12:00pm or 3:30pm -that's it.
Michigan's record in night games leaves a lot to be desired in recent memory. I know, Harbaugh has not been a part of that equation. And we are at home But it seems like even when Michigan wins they are playing close to teams they should blow out. Michigan State will already be up for this game...since they aren't relevant on a national scale anymore. This should, as one commentor put it, be a "curb-stomping". I hope they live up to that expectation.
Don't boo? Hey I know some think everybody gets a trophy at the end fo the day...but they don't. Winners take criticism, well placed or not, and use it to make themselves stronger. Just check out Rashan Gary's post penalty play if you don't believe me. Crappy call that got an appropriate response.
Agree...I'll take the guys that want to be here. He doesn't have to tell anyone his plans but no matter where his plane lands...I'll still be pulling for the maize and blue.
Already shared this in another post this week: 5th grade teacher bet me 5 laps around the soccer field that MSU would beat UM. A missed or neglected pass interference call involving Desmond Howard cost me that bet. I hate running...and MSU.
Misunderstood...I thought someone finally correctly identified Sparty's head coach as one of the old guys in the balcony from the muppets. Eh, the mystery continues...

Yes, yes...my 5th grade teacher bet me 5 laps around the soccer field that MSU would beat UM one Friday. And, an uncalled pass interference against Desmond Howard delivered that win to him. I am praying that UM drags Sparty up and down and around that field and imposes it's offensive and defensiv will for every second of all 4 quarters.
When I was a kid/teen/20 something I would live and die with the Wolverines. But my love for all things Wolverine has changed- not dropped or grown - now that I have kids. I still love them but for different reasons. I don't worry about what other non-UM fans have to say. I appreciate the time it gives me to be with my wife and kids - the lessons it teaches/I can teach by watching and rooting or the maize and blue - and the joy my kids get out of watching the winged helmet cross the goal line and hearing the Victors play. No matter the outcome my fandom for the maize n blue has been enriched by adding my wife and kids to mix. GO BLUE!

Still think I

Colombo delenda est!
If it can happen to any organization...it'll happen to the Lions...
except championships. Championships definitely don't happen to the Lions.
JIm Harbaugh was exposed as a great coach...and the 49ers fired him.
I'd rather have someone who wants to be here running the ball for us. If he is conflicted I think that may only end up bad for both parties.
But...if I won enough I'd rename the Head Coaching Position of the University of Michigan Football team. Suggestions?
