Always appreciate your write ups. Do you have a player comp for Jett? It sounds like he might have a similar game to Tim Hardaway Jr?

Who are you taking out to get Trey and Grant in? Definitely not Cazzie. I could get behind a 3 guard lineup with Rice at the 4 and Webber at the 5.

So are PGs who win National Player of the Year and lead their team to the national title game.

Not at all obvious. I'd put Burke over Grant but it's certainly not an obvious or easy choice either way. Burke's best season was way better than anything Grant did so that gives him the tiebreaker to me.

Great pod- when listing the death from above hall of fame you guys forgot the 2018 regular season finale @ Maryland when the boys were up 30 at halftime. I believe they scored 49 points in the last 15 minutes of the half.

Only problem with your first…

Only problem with your first paragraph is that it's completely inaccurate. Mason was on the field before the first timeout and the second timeout came because he was gone and DPJ and Collins came in.

Okay, well Oklahoma last year

Went 11-20 (5-13 in Big 12). They added Young and one other freshman contributor but the rest of the team is the same. This year they are 14-3 (4-2). I think he's helping his team get wins.

Let's discuss each of your "arguments"

"Ill advised threes"- He is shooting 39.5% from 3 while shooting an average of 10 attempts a game. Relative to early season this has declined a little but just two games ago against TCU he went 10-18 from the 3 point line.

"Low assist to turnover rate"- His assist rate is 54.4 for the season (#1 in the country) and his turnover rate is 19.2. By my math that makes his A/TO ratio 2.8. Not low.

"Ball hog"- See above. #1 assist rate IN THE COUNTRY

"Driving out of control"- Harder to measure statistically but all of the other statistics might it quite clear that the ball in his hands is a good thing for Oklahoma.

Kenpom includes comparisons for players who have comparable statistical measures. Trae Young's #1 comparable is Kyrie Irving in the one year he was at Duke. He is not overrated. You don't know what you're talking about.

Your take is far too rosy my friend

Probable losses:

@MSU, @Purdue

Likely to be competitive games:

@Iowa, Purdue, Maryland, @Nebraska, Northwestern, Minnesota, @Northwestern, @Wisconsin, @Penn State, @Maryland

Probable wins:

Illinois, Rutgers, Iowa, OSU

That's 5-3 in Big Ten play with 10 competitive games. The baseline is probably about 10-8 or 11-7 at this point. Kenpom is projecting 10-8 for what it's worth.

I sorta remember someone suggesting Ulizio might struggle

Anyone else remember that?

Coralville is right next to Iowa City...

Not 45 minutes. Coralville is to Iowa City as Ypsi is to Ann Arbor. The team actually stays at the Mariott in Coralville which is right off highway 80.

If you're looking to stay an hour away, definitely Davenport or one of the other quad cities (Moline, Bettendorf, Rock Island).
