35 weeks 5 hours ago | I don't think I've ever used |
I don't think I've ever used an umbrella in Seattle. This really isn't midwest rain. It's just... moist. The lack of daylight in the winter months bother me more than the rain. On the other hand, there's no better place to be in the U.S. than Seattle in the summer.

35 weeks 5 hours ago | Just joking around. I don't |
Just joking around. I don't disagree, except for the Seattle Times comment section. They're gold! I especially like "I've lived here since 1970 and I hate all the new people" guy. |
35 weeks 5 hours ago | Good summary. North of the |
Good summary. North of the canal is great, but you'll never make it to work. I would avoid I-5 at all costs. If you have to live on the west side, find a neighborhood where you can take side streets to get onto 520. As far as the eastside goes, I'd personally do downtown Kirkland. Downtown Redmond is growing like crazy and is an easy commute. Sammamish is suburban hell. Issaquah isn't a bad option. You're probably too young for Woodenville. Don't go further away from Bellevue than Woodenville in the north or Issaquah in the south.

This reads like every Seattle Times comment section. Homeless people add "character" to downtown Seattle.

1 year 1 week ago | If Office 365 is really free |
If Office 365 is really free for non profits, that seems like a great deal. You'll also get Teams with it and sharepoint, maybe coupled with Teams sounds like what you would want. |

I think it's a very good tool, I just haven't figured out exactly how to use it along side Skype for Business. It's a more featured IM/Slack competitor with sharepoint on the back end. I set it up for my team, but it just seems like another thing everyone has to check along with email. I think eventually it'll replace Skype for Business as the chat client, but it's not quite there. If I was starting from scratch, I might use it, along with Sharepoint for a project.

I'll look into it, but I won't be able to get to it until the weekend. |

Hololens isn't a "game", it's a self contained AR headset. You might have played a game on it. It's actually quite amazing and has hand recognition (though the game might not use it). |
2 years 38 weeks ago | If nothing else, it's changed |
If nothing else, it's changed due to reorgs. Terry Myerson owns all of Windows and Devices, so there's at least some synergy there (devices will feature WIndows features and vice versa). Satya has also been good with supporting iOS and Android, which Balmer was slow to do. My area (Super Magic Holo Goggles) seems to have pretty good cross discipline "culture". Stack Ranking is gone... though in reality, it'll always exist in some form. Now we have 20 ranks instead of 5. |

As a MSFT employee, I can say for certain that #4 is total crap. 60 hour weeks are the norm for me and many on my team. It's a huge company. Stop with the sterotypes.

I think I fixed it. Email me if you still see the issue. I don't really control which ads get displayed, but I think I've shut off the offending provider. And please remember, ads make the blog money... |

I think most OSU fans like Ed Warriner more than Herman. He's also more ready to become a head coach. Ed's down side is that he's not a great recruiter. He can, however, take a bunch of random big kids and make them a decent offensive line in a matter of weeks. |

Easier just to email me, but it appears that the post won't go through if you're not logged in. Go back and log in and the reply should go through fine. I'll fix it so you get a notification when you're not logged in (which I thought was there at some point) |

3 years 32 weeks ago | Same application, same essay, |
Same application, same essay, just $70 more to apply to another school. I wouldn't be surprised to see a UC-SB level student apply to UCLA for another $70 due to the ease of applying whereas they might not have if the application was seperate. |
3 years 32 weeks ago | I think the non Berkeley |
I think the non Berkeley California schools get a bit of a bump from the common application. Heck, Cal probably does too. The acceptance rates are artificially lowered due to the ease of applying. |

I would assume Illinois is considered a better engineering school by most people. It's been top 5 in EE and CE for as long as I can remember. |
