This is awesome. Thank you.
No But I think we have a good chance of beating them. They lose their LBs and secondary.. something RR's scheme inherently takes advantage of ( their D-Line will be better BTW ) Offensively, we should make Pryor beat us through air. He'll get a few. If we get a few turnovers and keep the game close.. we can beat them. The game is in AA.
Again, my answer is based on the assumption that Shafer is canned ( very low probability, BTW ) We should seriously make a run at Jon Tenuta. He is playing second fiddle to Corwin Brown and would probably like a Michigan DC job. He'll be a solid, solid hire That said, I think our Defense will be solid this year. And Shafer will be the DC.
Fera's dad.

A PSU fan sheds some light in on of the free boards. Apparently, Fera's dad is a big PSU fan and has been nudging his kid to take a hard look at PSU. Probably a case of I committed too soon and fell in love with the first school I visited -- maybe I need to take a look. Then went to a PSU game, decommitted from M and committed to PSU.

Tough break. We NEED a kicker in this class. Hopefully schollie for the other guy and hopefully he doesn't ditch us.

And we haven't taken into account TurnOvers ND and Wisc games we gave around 12+. THAT TREND SHOULD STOP!
I haven't disagreed with Bri.

But I think there will be long drives from Illinois. We'll be focussing on stopping the run and option so much that their receivers will be open. If Juice is decent, they will have long drives. The WRs as a unit aren't as bad as Wisc and we'll adjust in 2nd half though. However first half, I think they will pass around and get couple of TDs.

I don't know whether we'll see the 1st half Mich or the 2nd half Mich ( vs Wisc ) .. everything depends on which Michigan plays.

We also have Steven "Moxie" threet who'll be better.
Pass first mentality transition Here's the thing I want. In WVU, RR built the O around PW's running skills ( and the fact he can't throw well). We've got Forcier coming up and these superb WRs. Hopefully he increases the passing playbook and uses pass to set up the run. With these personnel, we could put up points real quick.
Dude, for every bullet if you had a video description. I'll forever subscribe to your posts and urge you to start a blog. Right or wrong, the ability to see why a play worked / didn't work / almost worked is what makes people flock MGoBlog. Continue posting.
This is gold* Gold.
Isn't it the same thing every year? Last year, I remember an article about Jehuu Caulcrick about how much he wanted to beat Michigan. In fact, he was more vehement than Ringer. The point is it's off-season and the Michigan press wants to increase the drama when the Top team ( Michigan ) and the 3rd team ( MSU ) from the state meet. ( the second being the team headed by LeFevour (sp? ) )
WVU vs Oklahoma

Your post will make me sleep better Brian.

How did WVU stop Oklahoma? Granted the DC was Jeff Casteel, but aren't OK's OL the biggest in Football. I think "DingleBerry" did a fantastic job.

Last season, the DLine and LBs looked helpless against MSU (2nd half) and Wisc. They came up with a improbable stop when it was 3rd and 2 ( Boneheaded Dantonio - why would you run a toss ) against MSU but not so much against Wisc. So 07 didn't really mirror 06 season with respect to run stopping. Keeping Will Campbell happy will be a major factor also. He'll be a big run stuffer.

The first point is an evidence that decent D-Line and safety converters could potentially stop run heavy gargantuan OL teams like OK.

In an unrelated note, I think Justin King is a tad bit overrated. He'd have been a nice WR like Ginn. He was burnt by James Hardy notably and also by Adrian Arrington and Steve Breaston. Morgan Trent was only a few notches below Justin King. However my prediction is at the end of this year Morgan Trent will be a Top 60 pick in NFL draft.

Word.

QB is the most important position in the Rodriguez offense and Newsome might be a Pat White kinda guy. If Newsome is effective, the other things will take care of themselves

Defensively Big Will. A DT can wreak havoc like no other.

Very* The first drive is usually by the starters. After that the backups take over. It's kinda sad, really. Teams play with a full roster ( 83 ) and 30 of them will be cut so it's like a fight out there as to who makes the team.
Keep it clean * Run a clean program as far as possible ( it's hard but please do it) * Beat OSU * Beat ND * Beat lil bro * Bowl win * Keep the PSU streak alive * National Championship while you are here other stuff is minor.
If Jason Forcier were here,

would he be a  Senior or a Junior?

 If only.... damn.

Short answer is NO NCAA has a maximum practice time limit. So RR has to be very prudent with practice time w.r.t QBs. I think even Sheridan won't get a good practice time. Threet and Feagin probably will get bulk of the snaps.
:-)

What if every one of us ignores this article?

Confucius say.. A dog barking at a sun doesn't tarnish the sun.

EDIT: On second reading, this article/schtick is freakin' awesome !!

Thanks It'd have been better if Michigan had pulled a USC-esque coup of him at the final second. Early commits seem to get "soft" over time.
Good stuff dude stuff is good
If he decommits, the best case scenario for us would be if he does that immediately. internets has been buzzing with reports that Tate Forcier wants us bad, but commitment of Beaver/Newsome is deterring that. If Newsome decommits, we could be in the Tate's sweepstakes.
X-Factor One X-Factor might be that Schiano has coached under Joe Pa at some point. He might want to return to PSU. However, we all know how it worked out in Les Miles case. USF/Pitt/Cincinnati path to MNC is easier than OSU/Michigan/Wisc ( though you get two years off against Michigan )
Summaries

Not details

  • When Ty Law wanted to leave early, LC was apparently a bitch about it. Ty Law is not one of those proud alums ( hence he says the HS name )
  • Amani Toomer's case was strange ( Brian had a post about it, search it ). He was always treated as an outsider(?!) and he's quite jealous as to how Plaxico is greeted in MSU.
Something to be optimistic about

Sugar Bowl 2006, WVU vs Georgia

1:45 to go. WVU leads Georgia 38-35. WVU is punting.

Lloyd wouldn't have pulled this! RR was successful because of the element of surprise. It totally nullified the probability of that play not working.

Great points. As I said, I wrote a negative piece and I agree. I won't judge Lloyd based on these negative points but it is hard to say that Lloyd was perfect. I am just pointing the imperfections. ( Every person has ) As someone above summed up, he was reactive as opposed to being pro-active.
I'd add Ball State nothing here
