Some of you guys are nuts. Should the students have been able to recognize Bill Martin or at least had someone made it clear to them who it was? Probably. Was Bill Martin likely still an asshole to people that it should be fairly obvious are just trying to do their jobs? Probably.
Should any of us actually care about any of this other than the fact that the most minor of scandals regarding Michigan athletics are being dragged through the national media at the drop of a hat? Probably not.
Yeah I laugh pretty hard when people get up in arms about the non-mandatory stuff essentially being mandatory. Football is a field where the elite go on to millions of dollars and fame and everyone else, even if just slightly below that level, get basically nothing. It shouldn't be a huge surprise that people will be willing to work insane hours with those kind of incentives.
I wish you could send in photos and they could make fatheads of random people. I would just give myself to everyone for birthdays, holidays, bat mitzvahs, etc. Would be awesome.
Not a fucking chance. I get way too many comments from douchebag ND fans who don't care about football at all except when ND plays Michigan because they know I get furious when they say dumb shit if we happen to lose. Always the pseudo-Catholic/25% Irish crowd. Hope ND crashes and burns. Always.
Hopefully Denard would just move to a different position. Tate would be stupid not to consider transferring if it became apparent he would be seeing little time after the year ended and had other options.
All of the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies don't stack up at all, especially Goldeneye. I think I remembered that movie way more fondly because of the game, but the movie is just god awful.
Also, Cocktail is the best bad movie of all time. Tom Cruise bartender battles baby.
Tulane is a pretty good fit. They're already better than Michigan at football since Matt Forte turned out better than Mike Hart and everyone would love to come to Louisiana to recruit. Why not?
God I'm glad you posted the whole text of what he said, as I hadn't read it in any of the mainstream outlets. I went from agreeing with him, but wishing he didn't say it publicly to absolutely agreeing with him and glad that he said it after reading the whole thing. The way this has been portrayed is just garbage.
Also, Threet is completing 51% and Sheridan is at 49%, so if Mallett improved his accuracy at all, we'd already be better in that department and have a QB with a stronger arm.
I tend to lean toward Mallett being quite a bit better than either QB this year since I think he's so slow that Rich wouldn't have had a choice but to ditch the vast majority of his read option plays and run more of a simple shotgun spread deal, which I think is what he ran in high school and would have probably picked up fairly easily. I know there is Brian's theory that Threet would have started over Mallett had he stayed, but I just don't think I agree with that. Don't underestimate what an advantage a year of experience and an offseason of working on known flaws would give Mallett over Threet and Sheridan, not to mention his far superior recruiting rankings. His transferring cost us at least a game or two in my opinion.
I don't bother reading rivals/scout boards, but I really doubt that the dumbasses there get mocked as relentlessly as they do here whenever they happen to pop up. Brian's posts make it easy to refute idiots, and this site is about 10000x more enjoyable without them.
Also, these arbitrary tests of a new coach really just annoy me. So what if he doesn't say certain things? Doesn't mean he doesn't know about it. Just means he doesn't conduct things like Lloyd, who knew?
Dude, he hasn't been here that long. He might not know everything yet, but he'll pick it up. I'm sure he's more concerned with his team right now given that he has bigger issues than Lloyd ever really did.
