I should say thanks for the

I should say thanks for the writeup. I love this team. I think about this team every day.

The more coverage, the better. Keep it coming.

Who?

James McCarthy? Are you kidding me?

Amateur Club Soccer

I'd love to see the season expanded into the spring. Wouldn't have to compete with Football so much in the fall, and could have the most important games in more moderate weather instead of finishing off the season in the cold.

But we can't forget the impact it would have on amateur club soccer teams in the PDL and the NPSL. Many Michigan Soccer players had significant contributions to the Michigan Bucks and Detroit City FC this spring & summer. If the NCAA season expanded into the spring, I doubt those players would be splitting their time between school and the club.

They may not be getting as much experience in NCAA competition as their contemporaries in the European academies, but the top players ARE getting more than just NCAA experience.

Oh God

Oh no, not those freaking MSU away jerseys again. I just had scraped them from my brain.

ARRRRRRRRGH!

Bull. Here's the screen grab

Bull. Here's the screen grab from the end of the Wisc/MSU game where the camera is high above the action and on the plane of the goal line:

You can see that the vertical pylon is inline with the goal line on the image, meaning the camera is in the correct position to translate the 3D plane onto a 2D screen. There's plenty of room for the refs' fat asses if you raise the camera.

The problem with that camera

The problem with that camera angle is that the camera itself is not on the line, it's maybe a yard in the end zone. If the camera was ON THE GOAL LINE like it's supposed to be for replay  reviews, the goal line would be vertical in the image.

Never mind the fact that you don't see any knee pad compression in that screen shot above, but this angle shouldn't have been used in the first place.

Dude, your table, man

Also, the Indiana game in 2010 was AFTER the BGSU game:

2010 2011
W 30-10 v UConnn W 34-10 v WMU
W 28-24 @Notre Dame W 35-31 v Notre Dame
W 42-37 v UMass W 31-3 v EMU
W 65-21 v BGSU W 28-7 v SD State
W 42-35 @Indiana W 58-0 v Minnesota

This worked so well for The Gap

For your consideration

POSIT: The more you know about football, the more likely you are to be of the opinion that RichRod keeps his job.

Thoughts?

+1

For "Citrus Bowl" instead of "Capital One Bowl".

It's been 4 days...

And I still am flabbergasted by the stuffed animal on the sidelines.

I fully expect GERG to come out in a clown wig and Big Bird leggings and tickle player's noses on Saturday. The wheels are falling off.

Ye Gods

Can't you just see AIRHAG and AMSHAG sitting in a bar, clinking beer mugs?

"Oh yeah? Watch this!"

*BOOM-ACL-TEAR*

Transfer Notice

At the end of both halves, ND had a play in the end zone to try to score a touchdown and both times they threw an uncatchable ball over everyone's heads.

I think Tacopants transferred to Notre Dame in the offseason.

I noticed

When I re-watched the final minutes of the game, I noticed that Forcier was one of the first guys to give Denard a big hug after he scored the game-winning touchdown.

Good on ya, Tate. I have a feeling this team going to need your experience by the end of the season.

The Team, the Team, the Team. Let's keep it up, boys.

Michigan Defense = 7 guys up

Michigan Defense = 7 guys up front and a paper bag

I can't believe it-- I'm

I can't believe it-- I'm crying right now. I'm realizing just how bad I want this team to win.

Winning cures all the bullsh*t swarming around the program. Winning validates the decision to change coaching regimes instead of throwing 3 years in the toilet and starting from scratch, AGAIN. I really like Rich Rod, he doesn't deserve one tenth of the crap he gets.

Just win, and keep winning. GO BLUE!

Chart

I thought that "Crankiness vs. Verbosity" chart was our new defensive alignment there for a minute.

Alternate View Video

I brought my boys to the kids' clinic before the meet and it was a blast. We stuck around for the events and had a good time. Ended up walking out right next to Coach Rodriguez, but I couldn't think of anything to say to him, so I just smiled and pointed him out to my boys.

I thought I had an exclusive video for once, but Tim beat me to it! Here's an alternate view from a bit further down the track and higher up.

Congrats

The best Michigan news/opinion site gets even better.

I agree.
They should bring in

I agree.

They should bring in a historical power but a favorable current matchup.

Army?

Thanks to all for the

Thanks to all for the comments.

gsimmons, I think you're right in that our DIII coach prepared the players perfectly on how to beat that press. Running 3 styles of press certainly complicates things.

Perhaps that quick second pass is not the cause of success against the press, but I think it's a good indicator of whether the press break is succeeding.

And to echo what blueloosh said, I'm glad coach Beilein is the one in charge.

Go Blue!
