A shrewd recruiter would have capitalized on your eagerness to participate in the Naked Mile.
|21 hours 36 min ago||So, that's essentially||
So, that's essentially creating a three- or even four-point conversion. It starts to mess with the fundamental structure of the game.

I don't believe the NHL changed the dimensions of the actual net. They did change the goal crease to make it wider and shorter. But I actually think making it easier to score in hockey decreases variance. It's so hard to score in hockey that it's not uncommon for a team to dominate statistics like shots-on-goal or quality chances, and still lose the game.

Problem is, I don't see how you do that without making 2-point conversions almost impossible. Teams only convert them about half the time now--if you move them back to the 20- or 25-yard line it will be a very low-percentage play.

No, I don't know. I posted my comment without really considering the alternative you raised.

I don't feel bad for him--he didn't have to decommit. He's a top-250 player so I'm sure he won't have any trouble finding another place to play.

Eason may be solid to GA now, but never say never. A lot can happen between now and 2016 NSD.

God must have told DeWeaver that he wouldn't be able to get into Michigan without football.

Michigan recruited him pretty hard during OSU's Fickell year.

No matter how small a class size gets, M can pretty much always count on having enough spots for the elite talent it is recruiting in any given year. That's why I generally think it's a bad idea to bank scholarships. The spots you'd be banking would go to role-player types, and with role-players you want them to have as much experience as possible. I did a diary on this issue a couple years ago: http://mgoblog.com/diaries/ipcs-and-football-scholarships

I sat there. Five minutes. Then, twenty-two minutes by the kitchen clock. Not a word, not a motion. What am I thinking? "My arm's getting tired?" No. I did it. I did it. Like in the old days, Ricky. Like I was taught... Like, I used to do...I did it. I locked on him. All on him, nothing on me. All my thoughts are on him. I'm holding the last thought that I spoke: "Now is the time."

Bob Toledo had a couple great seasons in the late '90s at UCLA. It was uncanny how quickly they rose and fell. 5-6 in 1996, then two straight 10-2 seasons (finishing #5 and #8 nationally), and then back to 4-7 in 1999.

I think in the real conversation, the thing that couldn't be beaten was high-end deli sandwiches.

Really? Imagine being a HS quarterback and having to go up against that defense. Run the ball, I guess, up the middle.
|2 days 15 hours ago||QBs||
I'm not entirely sure it's accurate to say Gentry was "hand-picked" by Harbaugh. Gentry looks like a gifted player and was certainly the best QB available in the limited time Harbaugh had to work with, but we won't ever know which QB Harbaugh would have targeted as his #1 choice in 2015 had he been here for the entire recruiting cycle.
Similarly, we can't rule out the possibility that Harbaugh would have pursued Morris, had Harbaugh still been coaching in the NCAA during Morris' year. Morris ticks off a lot of the same boxes that Gentry does: tall, big arm, decent speed. And Morris is still a pretty young player; the light bulb could still come on.

#98 should be reseved for a two-way player who also kicks and is on the basketball team.

What was it Bo supposedly said in that Rob Lytle piece from the other day? "We've already got six running backs and if you come you'll be number seven?" I don't see Bo giving out special lockers to anybody.
|2 days 18 hours ago||Serial!||
Ha, that's pretty funny.
I understand where the OP is coming from and I'm not trying to ruin anybody's fun. It's just that when I try to think of candidates for a "best male life" or something like that, I come up with names like Nelson Mandela (RIP) or John Paul Stevens--people who have done things of great significance for which they will be long remembered.
Tom Brady is a fucking boss though, I must admit.

Darn. I guess I'm not as exciting as "US Weekly for Dudes" or whatever it is that keeps you up.
|2 days 19 hours ago||Hoke||
Well played. Though, in my defense, Hoke is actually doing pretty well by the original criteria.
|2 days 19 hours ago||Criteria||
Your criteria are ridiculous. A humble person who leads a moral life and sacrifices wealth and fame for the benefit of others is far more desrerving of admiration than someone who, in your words, has "access to everything he wants with none of the responsibility."
That's may opinion, anyway.

Pickard is a guy I am really hoping for. He seems like a hard worker who will really take the coaching, and has enough talent for that to matter.
|3 days 19 hours ago||I think the early enrollment||
I think the early enrollment gives Cole a good chance to play in 2015. With Funchess gone, M will really need a playmaker at WR and the two most likely candidates seem to be Cole or Drake Harris. If Cole was enrolling in the fall, I would not expect him to play at all because Saginaw Heritage is not the kind of high school that's going to produce a plug & play freshman. But with a full spring practice and off-season conditioning program, Cole will have a great shot.

I had started doing my own list and scrapped it when I couldn't pick a 2010s artist. But I also had Chuck Berry, VU, and Parliament for 50s through 70s.

That's hilarious. My wife loves Weezer, but I cringe every time she puts them on. They do have a couple songs I like though.
|3 days 21 hours ago||I turned 18 and started||
I turned 18 and started college in 1993. And for me, with all due respect to the grunge bands and the terrific rappers of that era, there is one '90s band that stands above. I would not be the person I am today, had I not been deeply influenced by the passionate, angry vocals of one Zach de la Rocha. I understand that others will disagree, but Rage Against the Machine, yo.

On popularity, there is no doubt. But it's a closer call if you look at influence. Still, both were incredible bands.
|3 days 21 hours ago||I think what happened in the||
I think what happened in the 2000s is that you had the rise of iTunes and other digital download services, and so people really stopped listening to the radio (except Pandora) or even buying music at stores. In response, "mainstream" music really became "music that appeals to people who don't just download what they like." But there really has been an explosion of GREAT music since the mid-2000s, you just have to know what to look for.
