I don't think the pulling…

I don't think the pulling guard gets to Moore; he overran him. Moore was already upfield of him and can probably still make the tackle if Milroe is able to run left. Two o-line mistakes on that play.  Good thing we're just talking about hypotheticals here!

As someone about your age,…

As someone about your age, Brian, this mirrors my experience to a T - right down to the part about spending the second half of the georgia game in a lounge.

I was at the Rose Bowl - my first one - and it was magical. Thanks for pulling out the words I lack to describe the experience.

Looking for two Rose Bowl…

edit: no longer looking. Go blue!

Looking for two Rose Bowl tickets for me and my 8 year old. Willing to pay a fair price; just want both sides to avoid reseller fees. Looking for anything in sections 15 thru 22.

Anyone else notice the and-1…

Anyone else notice the and-1 foul in overtime where Florida fouled their own teammate and then they sink the free throw.  ughhh, tough loss.

Anyone have a chart like the…

Anyone have a chart like the one in the post that extends out to gameday?  I wish I had jumped on the ~$300 tickets before the official announcement, but now it seems like waiting as long as possible is probably the smart play.  Just wondering how close to the game they bottomed out the past couple of years.

Yeah, to each their own but,…

Yeah, to each their own but, personally, this is a possibly once in a lifetime opportunity. I've never been to the Rose Bowl so that's a no brainer. I'm all in for as far as they go.

Yes, that step is getting…

Yes, that step is getting paid to do so.

Agreed.  There's something…

Agreed.  There's something on the nose about Brian calling Stalions a lunatic for writing a "manifesto" about Michigan football when he literally started a blog doing the same thing (for free at first, no less). I'm just not super into this negative narrative about his passion for Michigan on a blog read/written by people with outsized passion for Michigan.

First, let's tone down the …

First, let's tone down the "wacko/lunatic" language around Stalions.  We all are breathlessly reading/commenting/writing on a blog dedicated to a single college athletic program.  We're all invested in Michigan sports more than your average joe.  The line between that passion and Stalions' isn't as far off as some are making it out to be. In your 20s if you had been told you can work for Michigan football and here's your role, I bet a lot of people here would have jumped head first into it.

Second, this dude obviously thought what he was doing was not against NCAA rules (which still seems to be up for debate).  Otherwise I am sure he would have concealed activities better.  He still should have, but that ship has sailed.

Third, in my mind, the best case scenario here is to have other programs outed for similar practices. I have no doubt Michigan is not alone here, but they do seem to have implemented it in the worst way possible (that we know of!).

Good points and I generally…

Good points and I generally agree.  I'm guessing Michigan views that play as an extended (enhanced?) play-action rather than a trick play.  They're just trying to get one or two guys to bite on it - whether that's the safeties or linebackers.  They're limiting the downside - as you said - while still messing with the defensive keys.

You need both a local and…

You need both a local and cloud backup.  Redundancy and covering your bases is worth it because you just never know when that crash is going to happen (or your laptop gets stolen).  I use CrashPlan and I'm happy with it.  It'll handle both your local and cloud backup.  I haven't price shopped in awhile but I imagine it's competitive with whatever else is out there.

Just wanted to say that I…

Just wanted to say that I appreciate your honesty here.  Most people would love to say they would have acted in that situation, but there are a lot of factors - shock, anger, and (let's face it) fear - that can hold you back.  Also, creating a scene would probably have made the experience even worse for the victim.  Anyway, we all have moments where we wish we had acted differently and I think admitting that is a big step in how we respond in the future.

It's not an opinion to say…

It's not an opinion to say that your anecdotal experience is different than what the OP described. I'm sorry you don't see the difference but I'm not going to waste words on a sports blog trying to explain it to you. I do sincerely hope that you're just posturing and you don't truly think that both incidents are simply people being assholes.

Whew boy, where to begin?…

Whew boy, where to begin? How does not being able to walk into a private business and use the bathroom - you weren't a patient, I assume - equate to being refused service based on the color of your skin?  Are you seriously trying to compare the two?

Also the OP mentioned this "between the races" event occurred in 2007. Mentioned it twice, actually.  If that makes me "radicalized" against racist motherfuckers and institutionalized racism then guilty as charged.

Seriously can't believe you doubled-down on this nonsense.

Talk about false…

Talk about false equivalences, my dude. Jeebus that's a tone deaf response.

Exactly. It's splitting…

Exactly. It's splitting hairs at this point and football is such a high leverage sport where one or two games (hell, one or two plays) define your season so no one can say this definitively. I would guess a pretty even split if they played 10 times. We played a better game than them in Columbus and they played better in the semifinals.

In summary: 45-23.

Says the guy who was not…

Says the guy who was not offered $4M

That's a fun roster - lots…

That's a fun roster - lots of point guards though.  I've watched the TBT the past few years and if this roster materializes we would definitely be in the top tier of teams.  Jamal Crawford would bring it home for us.

Look, I know commenting on a post about something I find inane is going to elicit the response it got.  And I'll take the negs.  But the daily (sometimes more) updates are kinda ridiculous to the large percentage of the board who aren't interested.  Couldn't it be combined into one thread?

Does six turns left imply we…

Does six turns left imply we only need to endure six more message board posts about this?

Start making your edits on…

Start making your edits on your NCAA 2014 rosters, unless your DVD like mine just crapped out when you went to boot it backup recently. Go ahead and fill the comments with advice on PS3 disks; if you're reading this article we're all nerds here.

Did you try blowing on it?

I too took the DraftKings…

I too took the DraftKings suggested parlay.  Couldn't believe that was the leg that blew it up.

What a weird comment.  No…

What a weird comment.  No one is demonizing anyone here. You bringing it up unprovoked with some not-so-subtle undertones about immigrant culture is quite odd.

I've seen this mentioned a…

The #1 feature is it gets around the bad way they build browsers these days, which are built under the assumption that nobody wants to read longform articles anymore.

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times since the redesign. I'm sorry but this is a fundamental misunderstanding of web browsers and caching. There are plenty of long form/news sites on the web that load fast.

To the original poster's question, search for "orientation lock" and your phone model. I have an iPhone, but I assume Android has a similar feature that will prevent the auto-rotation you describe.

[Edit]: I want to clarify the above a bit as this came off more harsh than I intended. I understand WHY the site is slow - the ads - but I disagree with the insinuation that modern web browsers fundamentally don't work well for these types of sites.

This. It's super easy for a…

This. It's super easy for a poster to make a link a hyperlink, but half the time they forget or do not know how.  Just take the modest complexity out and automate it.  It's 2023 fergodsakes.

Hard disagree that Juwan is…

Hard disagree that Juwan is more culpable than any of the issues stated in the original post.  We have two playable guards (our backup PG is our starting SG, fergodsakes).  If you want to complain about roster construction, fine, but he obviously didn't know Frankie was going to transfer and injuries can't be planned for in advance.

Add in the sentiment that his teams are/have been underperforming and I think you've nailed the crux of the reasons people are taking issue with this incident.  It's never just one thing, but rather a multitude of factors.

Stating the obvious: This isn't the spot to debate gun laws (or any laws, tbh). Not gonna downvote but you've made your view on the matter clear in a couple of comments here.

Book them for both locations now on Southwest (or another airline with a generous cancellation policy).

Seconded. Jackson's is the official Denver bar and will have an alumni table and more fans, but also it's downtown and can end up being a nightmare on weekends for parking and general debauchery. Greg's will be low-key if that's more your speed.

There should have been a…

There should have been a warning on your post that there's a UM v. UGA screenshot in that article.

Okay, Mazi with a 44"…

Okay, Mazi with a 44" vertical is either a huge lie or the most impressive stat I've ever seen. I gotta see some video of that.

I'm surprised you consider…

I'm surprised you consider the message board to be a side feature. The interaction on the message board and comments on main site/diary posts seem like the lifeblood of the mgoblog community, for better or worse sometimes. I've long found it odd that you haven't incorporated a third-party comment management tool or increased the functionality of your homegrown setup.  Getting an email notification when a thread you've contributed to would increase engagement on the site, IMO.

Haha, fair enough. I guess I…

Haha, fair enough. I guess I fixated on "the go back to school and improve your draft stock" part.

Jordan Poole says hello…

Jordan Poole says hello. Also, I suspect Dickinson had a better chance of getting drafted last year than this year.

I don't know, maybe you're right, but picking a couple of recent anecdotes doesn't convince me. Is there real data to back up that claim?  I suspect it's a mix; some players improve their stock and some slide down for one reason or another.

This. Just buy what they…

This. Just buy what they recommend. They have high end and budget option recommendations. And they even give advice on the settings to get the best picture possible out of the tv.

Then you have to compare the levels of recognition: one has a trophy named after him in perpetuity and one is being asked to speak to the team and named an honorary captain for a spring game.

Further, he's a former player of Harbaugh's and he has mentioned his support for him multiple times. It's not like this is out of the blue. And it must be understood that Kaepernick does represent an important social justice hero to some (we can obviously agree that not everyone sees him in that light).

You're still…

You're still misunderstanding that they weren't comparing the two in the first place.

Thanks, Nostradamus, I feel at peace now.  I would certainly place my bets on us being in the tournament but it's far from a sure thing now.  And playing on Tuesday is most certainly in play.  The loss changed that aspect for sure.

From the hockey column it sounds like this can only happen if DU bombs out of a 1 seed.  So... go Colorado College?

So, is there a decent chance Michigan ends up in the Loveland regional? If so, as a Denver resident, I'll definitely make the trip up to support the team.

Good for him.
