- Scared punter gif is still amazing - and only because it did not cost us the game.
- That first alabama screenshot shows countess just before getting hit and tearing his ACL. Ugh, still bothers me.

As someone with technical knowledge of email delivery, I agree with the statements affirming the veracity of the emails. It would take a pretty sophisticated ruse – or that email address randomly being assigned to a student with a good sense of humor J - to pull it off over the length of time we’re looking at.
Mainly unrelated: how the heck does umich.edu not have an SPF record set up? Anyone who with a umich.edu email address has a pretty good chance of their sent emails going to spam due to this. I can’t think of a technical hurdle that would prevent what is a pretty easy DNS setting.

That's just not true. I don't even have to leave our program to find an example. What do you think of john beilein?
I think what you mean is most successful coaches are type-A personalities and that also tends to rub some people the wrong way and make them seem like assholes. I'm saying the Harbaugh seems to be an asshole just to be an asshole. Anyway, like I said, I'll take him in a heartbeat over what we've got.

Given the situation, I would take just about any competent head coach out there. But I just can’t get over how much of an asshole Harbaugh has proven to be. Latest example, taking timeouts at the end of the SF-Den game this week and his half-assed congratulations of Manning. No need to remind me, both of those things are well within his right to do, but you would have a hard time arguing that they weren’t asshole moves.
In the end, I just want a coach who wins games, but he certainly rubs me the wrong way. I guess when he’s your school’s asshole, it’s all well and good, but he’s not our school’s asshole… yet.

I would encourage everyone not to respond to this post. There's a difference between discussing issues that affect the University of Michigan and devolving into trite political generalizations.

You gotta let the Funchess injury go. Shit happens and whether it’s a lost cause or not, when we’re losing I damn well want our first string in the game. Had the score been the opposite, I could see this point.

No chance it's "better" than Notre Dame, a traditional rival who we regularly compete with for prospects and regional bragging rights. But, it is an interesting game and a welcome addition to the schedule. It would be nice to get one of these larger name opponents to commit to a series rather than just two games so we could gin up a new rivalry.

Ughh, that is a cheap shot. I doubt many of his teamates even saw it given the flow of the play. Talk about adding injury to insult.

Anyone have a clip of the cheapshot at the end on Gardner? I obviously turned off the TV before the final whistle and deleted my DVR of the game as soon as I woke up on Sunday - after realizing it was not all just a bad dream.

Right, I agree it's a fine line and people where differ on where it is. I bet lots of people hate the huge video scoreboards, but I love them. The problem seems to be the AD is tone-deaf - or more likely doesn't care - to what most of his base is looking for. Who are they catering to? I've yet to figure that out.
|14 weeks 2 days ago||Hold on||
Not trying to call you out, but you've never been to Costco or at least know the idea behind it? That's amazing to me and I feel good that I own stock in a company with obvious market to grow. It's the exact same as a Sam's Club. If you don't know that one, I don't have an answer for you. And, yes, DB is working on an expensive Costco that is getting its ass handed to it every year by Sam's (OSU).
|21 weeks 6 days ago||Right. As much as I loathe||
Right. As much as I loathe many of the actions by this AD, I don't see a scenario where they would choose to alienate their most loyal customers. They make some boldly money-grabbing moves, but to intimate that 50+-year ticket holders MIGHT lose their seats is not a move anyone with a functioning brain would make.
Now, if someone can produce hard evidence of this purported email, I'm willing to give up my entire faith in humanity.

Comparing those teams is obviously apples and oranges. I think Jamal Crawford has proven his individual worth in the NBA. Also, they both seem to be good dudes based on their press clippings. Just noting the parallels.
|22 weeks 1 day ago||Jamal Crawford||
I can't help of think back to Jamal Crawford's situation. He was in school at the same time as me and he left without us really getting much more than flashes of his offensive brillance. The NCAA screwed him over much in the same way as Mitch.
I would probably vote for Mitch in that "one more year" wish, but the Jamal thing has always left me yearning for more of him in the Maize and Blue.

|28 weeks 1 day ago||Great write up||
Thanks for putting this together. The corner three assists number is astounding. This really codifies the reasons why Stauskas could accurately be described as an “elite-level offensive player”. He rarely took a “bad” shot because even his contested looks were taken completely under control. His fundamentals were so sound. He never achieved the “clutch” level of a Trey Burke – lofty comparison, I realize – but I’ll probably miss watching him more because his routine game was completely refined. Can’t wait for him to make people look ridiculous in the NBA where defensive gambling is the norm.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||Sitting with fouls||
Surprised that Brian didn't mention this in the column since he did on Twitter and has harped on it before, but I think Beilein is too cautious with protecting against foul trouble. It bit us in the title game last year and again yesterday. Morgan finishes with 3 fouls in 22 minutes and meanwhile we get significant time from a guy who hasn’t played all tournament against the best frontline we’ve faced.
I don’t agree with the sentiment that all minutes are created equal and I understand that we needed Morgan for the stretch run, but Beilein doesn’t place any trust in his leaders in this category. Trust me, I think Beilein is the best thing since sliced bread, but this one thing really irks me.
|31 weeks 2 days ago||Eron Harris||
I've seen Harris play a lot this year as I grew up in WV and WVU is my second favorite college team. Your assessment is correct but I’ll add that he seems to be a below average defender and has some decision making and confidence issues. Nothing Beilein couldn’t work his magic on, but the transfer year would be beneficial in that regard.
I think it’s a moot point though as I believe that he wants to go home and will stay close to Indianapolis.

|1 year 12 weeks ago||The hand wringing over the no||
The hand wringing over the no visits if you're committed stems from the associated "we're pulling your offer, too" that appeared to be the case until David Dawson - who was an extreme case. If a commit can really get back into the class if there's still interest on both sides, then I don't see an issue. But if you almost always pull the offer after a decommit, well, you might miss out on some people. Certainly within the staff's right and I see their point, but I think that's where some people are in disagreement.
|1 year 13 weeks ago||I disagree. Setting aside||
I disagree. Setting aside that it's never going to happen, the only way these policies stop or are reduced is when it affects the bottom line. Michigan's still going to play football if a game doesn't sell out, so I don't see why it's such a terrible thing to say.
|1 year 13 weeks ago||You're onto something here.||
You're onto something here. The AD just put this into a synergy brainstorm meeting agenda. They'll "rent" you officially licensed U of M apparel for just $100 a season.
|1 year 13 weeks ago||This is some bullshit. At||
This is some bullshit. At first I thought the satire of the post was over the top. But after checking the mgoblue.com page with the seat cushions prohibition bolded and the cushy banner ad for paying for the privilege of a cushion just to the right, I think it’s spot on. The money grab is so transparent that it’s beyond insulting that they do this under the guise of “safety.”
No purses burned my wife and I for the ND under the lights game. We had to stuff all of the contents in our pockets because unlike every other stadium in the country, security can’t be bothered to inspect it. My fault in the end because I did not verify this beforehand, but that was a new one for me.
As a non-season ticket holder, I’m sure I’ll still go to games whenever I have the chance. I'll deal with these shitty policies because I only have so many opportunities to see Michigan Football. But, I hope that those most affected by these policies - season and frequent ticket holders - let the AD know that these slights do not go unnoticed. Sad.

Has anyone seen this game on Big Ten Network's Classic Games? I remember listening to that game on radio because it wasn't on TV in my area (remember those days) and I've been looking for a replay of it lately.
Biakbatuka is still one of my favorites of all time and a good portion of that is due to that unstoppable game.

Wow, thanks for ruining my Thursday. Colorado game might be my personally watched #1. I didn't know that a remote could crack the glass of a tube TV until then.
