How dare those of us who didn't invest thousands of dollars make your self-righteous ass look bad?!? The nerve! Prick.

I don't think anyone has questioned his effort or heart. Stop being so sensitive. He's average at what he does, plain and simple.

My poor girlfriend. She bought me tickets to the PSU game two weeks ago for my birthday. After hearing me swear all game, and seeing me walk away from the TV, she started crying and told me that she would get rid of them so I didn't have to go. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

The guy has 0 career touchdowns vs. 3 interceptions thrown. Gardner isn't a great decision maker, but when he has a DL in his face a fraction of a second after the ball is snapped then he doesn't stand much of a chance.
Ed: Response to Morris over Gardner
|15 weeks 21 hours ago||Fact||
You can play anywhere and make it to the majors...scouts will find talent.
I coach high school baseball, and consistently get parents who feel like their kids won't get exposure playing for us...it's garbage. Scouts find players, hands down.

I like the idea, but we can hardly pull off a maize out, so I doubt it.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||He has a pretty effortless||
He has a pretty effortless delivery...the ball jumps out of his hand. Some guys have to but maximum effort into throwing hard, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Tribucher. He fights his front side a little bit, but I'm sure the coaching staff will be able to clean that up. Pretty sharp curve ball when he stays on top, but will need to throw it with much more consistency in the future. Looks like he threw a few really good two-seamers.

I highly doubt the AD's are the people responsible for checking ac(c)uracy of these types of things. There are plenty of other people in the departments to handle that type of work. It doesn't excuse it, but they are not the people to blame.

Any relation to Jim Thome? I seem to remember him being from that area.
Either way, welcome to the family!

Although my guess, based on no evidence whatsoever, is that one is forthcoming

I've used this deal for about the last 4-5 years. It's worth it for the insider access (Tom VH's material, etc.), and the magazine itself makes a great fire starter.
|20 weeks 3 days ago||Attendance||
To maybe turn this thread into something worth talking about...the Toledo Blade ran an article on how the shoe will/may overtake the Big House this year in attendance, as ticket sales fall off.
I'm sure it's been discussed here, but when I saw the article this morning it kind of opened/burned my eyes...

I didn't read the article (my brain hurts), but I got the impression that the roof could close...that those wings(?) would slide to create a full cover

This is confusing to me...
You're a "football guy," yet care more about the basketball team? Can you explain/elaborate? I'm just curious.

I never claimed the "sky is falling," just that this class, as a whole (size included) probably won't be as good as I had hoped...but winning this fall could change a lot
|23 weeks 4 hours ago||This||
It's nothing against the kids that are currently verballed, but what's the ceiling here? It's starting to look like the low, basement-level variety where you have to watch your head upon entering.
This class once contained a 5* RB and WR...now it's possible we fill our class with players who the coaches probably consider secondary options rather than must-haves.
No one is panicking, just realizing that the "experts" probably won't view this as a great class
|23 weeks 5 hours ago||What type of stance is that?||
It looks as though he is attempting to play defense for his junior high basketball team...
|23 weeks 5 hours ago||I had the same reaction...||
I hadn't really looked at a "top-whatever" list to see how things were shaking out...could be a pretty bleak class unless we perform on the field this fall
|27 weeks 1 hour ago||Jim Abbott||
My formative baseball years fell during Jim's time with the Angels, so I remember him, but does anyone else stop and think about how amazing his accomplishments were? I didn't realize he was a Golden Spikes Award winner. Someone should produce a 30 for 30 on his story.

Greasers and Socs, from what I hear
|45 weeks 5 days ago||The system is pretty weak||
The system is pretty weak when you look at it on a list like this. Aside from Castellanos, there isn't a guy who I would guess most experts would project as an everyday contributor. Sure, Rondon will probably be part of the pen, but I think expectations on him have changed quite a bit in the last year. He needs to find his control, and aside from the triple-digit fastball, what pitch will worry a hitter?
Dave and the scouting department are going to have their hands full replenishing the system.

1. Recruit great players.
2. Win a lot of games.
3. Recruit more great players.
4. Win more games.
The guy averaged 900 yards per game...with HAWAII!!!

Is a huge issue in the (somewhat) affluent community where I teach. I stress vocabulary on a daily basis even though it's not my content area. Our kids have reading problems, in general.
