Maryland is a team whose defense played as well as it could have today. Michigan is a team who won their first road game 28-0. Rudock is UM's quaterback. I think he's improving. If you don't and want to be down on him, go ahead.

Location on his throws is a lot better than it was at Utah. His decision making--i.e. when to commit to running, when to throw it away, what throws to avoid, is improving. How many picks did he have today vs. Utah? Yes, I get that some of the picks at Utah were on receivers but to me Rudock is improving and the rhythm/timing of pass plays is improving. Like everything, it still needs work. What concerns me is not being able to run the ball at will at critical times. That's not on Rudock. Michigan has had critical third and/or fourth down against Utah, Maryland and I believe UNLV they haven't been able to convert. You've got to find a way to get one or two yards on the ground when you absolutely need them.

Jake is improving every game. Yes, the offense struggled in the first half and yes he still needs work on long passes. Having said that he threw several excellent completions today. His decision making is better. The timing and rhythm of pass plays/patterns is improving. Mistakes happen at all levels of football but Rudock is learning/growing from them. Give me a good quarterback who's improving with an elite defense and I'll take it every time. How did the Ravens win the Superbowl in 2000 or the Giants ten years earlier?

No one wants to bet against Harbaugh right now. No one. Seriously, would you? How uptight are all your OSU/MSU friends (or foes) right now? Too much improvement week to week in this football team. Of course the majority of us are pessimists after the last how many years? Obviously someone is willing to bet against Harbaugh/UM or Vegas odds would be different. Having said all this, 10-2 is most likely in my book. MSU is overrated and we all know it but don't want to say it. They sorely miss Narduzzi. OSU will improve as the year goes on however. It's going to be tough to lose just one more game but this coaching staff is elite and again, how many of us would bet against them?

Is Jake's last name name pronounced Rudock like mudock or Rudock like Roodock? The Fox announcers assumed the later but are they correct? Thanks for any enlightenment.

It's never fun to lose but today's pain will all be forgotten if Michigan plays competitively against conference rivals in coming months. The fact we could see the pathway to being a good football team is very encouraging. Moving forward we'll see the talent difference between Harbaugh's coaching staff and that of the previous regime. There are plenty of coaching opportunities to be taken from last night and I fully expect this staff to make the necessary adjustments. A loss is a loss but it's very different from last year's Utah game. Michigan IS competitive this year and will not be embarrased again by Sparty. This is progress!

Wow, this is very helpful. Difficult to handle ND owning us this year but they certainly outplayed us Sunday and deserved to win.

I won't give the Fairfield crowd that much credit. There were the usual semi-inebriated youths yelling "you guys are horrible" etc. behind Michigan during the first quarter. That can't feel good when you're on the road and haven't won a game. As mentioned however the team stayed focused particularly after going down 4-1. They legitimately had a chance in this game up until 1:30 or so in the fourth. Regardless of what happens with a potential B1G league in the future I hope they continue to come out east to play. It has to be a help in recruiting as there are many quality programs in the area. I know "This is Michigan" and everyone should know it, but marketing a great thing never hurts particularly when there are so many alum & fans living in Metro NY. Very cool to be able to literally walk from my home in CT last night to see a UM Men's Varsity team in action.
