"Northwestern fans can be both heartened and disheartened by the loss to Minnesota just like how nineteenth-century resurrectionists were heartened when they pried a heart from a freshly-buried corpse and then disheartened it when they sold it to a disreputable anatomist."

Trey might have had that title if the refs believed what their eyes saw and didn't simply assume that a short PG is physically incapable of making a block from behind, at the rim, on a fast break.

I REALLY hope that Brandon is out for the new coach search. Getting rid of Hoke but having Brandon stay would be a Pyrrhic victory.

No. Maragos isn't going anywhere. He is a special teams stud and Kelly picked him up specifically for that reason.

I saw this at work and got really excited! I'm also a big Eagles fan.
Kovacs will NOT see the field as a safety barring injury, but I would love to get him in on special teams. We have a great special teams coach in Dave Fipp who could probably make good use of Kovacs' high football IQ.

Galloway's comments that a coach doesn't evaluate head injuries COMPLETELY misses the point. The head coach is supposed to be in charge. He is supposed to be watching his players (teenagers who have committed 4-5 years of their lives to him) and taking care of them. Once he saw Morris stumbling around and nearly collapsing, he should have called a timeout and pulled Morris. Morris may be "tough," but he's a KID. Then Hoke could have gotten him to medical personnel who could evaluate him.

Agreed. He always looked like the bowling ball who could get you a solid few yards after contact, but his highlights rarely showed him outrunning guys down the sidelines.

It almost looks like a flesh light. I wonder if there was anybody tittering when the marketing team first introduced the idea.
Also, I agree with the above poster who says that talk is good, but Clark and co need to deliver. There is no way that we will make the playoffs this year, but getting back to our Sugar Bowl form would suit me just fine.

Just to clarify, Molk is not our starting center. That title belongs to Jason Kelce, who is one of the better centers in the NFL. If he makes our roster, it will be as the back-up center.

This has happened to me a couple times in Philadelphia where people will give a "Go Blue" as they walk by and it'll take me a few steps to realize (1) what they said and then (2) why they said it. Two days ago I was about eight steps beyond the guy when I turned around and shouted back.
In terms of etiquette, I think Go Blue is almost always appropriate. Who cares if you get a weird look? It's our (not-so) secret handshake.

How about we stop worrying so much about the uniforms? You know that the off-season has been going on too long when Michigan fashion is a trending topic on MGoBlog.

But +1 for the quotation. Beilein is great at working with the personnel he has, but give him something exceptional (ala Mitch McGary - f*ck you NCAA) and he'll spin gold.

A philosophical debate on a sports message board could ONLY happen with Michigan fans. And I mean that as a high compliment.

I am 26, a new UM fan, and I would DEFINITELY go if I was still in Ann Arbor. $20 is not a big investment, and it's one of those "go for the experience" kind of deals.
The Slippery Rock tradition is fun, and the crowd goes wild every time they show the score DESPITE the fact that half the people have no idea WHY we care about them (I only know because I did some Google searching).
Yes, it isn't going to be great football, but who cares? SRU only plays at the Big House once in a blue moon, and if the choice is between going to the game or sitting around catching up on your favorite new show on Netflix, I don't see why you wouldn't go.
Also, the idea that there won't be energy has got to be false. Everybody there will be rooting for Slippery Rock. They are America's favorite non-D1 team.

Yeah, I would be VERY surprised if this was true. I think 247 made a boo-boo.
If you look at his timeline, he has never even visited USC and they don't actually show an offer from USC on his 247 page. And while the Crystal Ball is never the BEST indicator, it only shows B1G teams.

I love Draftageddon. I'm a late-comer to B1G football (East Coast kid who grew up on the NFL and only started following college football when I chose Michigan for law school), so Draftageddon provides an entertaining way of learning something about the rest of the B1G.
Also, the snark alone is worth the price of admission. And BiSB's meltdown following the Sean Davis pick was hilarious to say the least.
(I think I just heard BiSB scream "Kurtis Drummond" from afar, but it may have just been after-shocks from the epic fail that was Michigan's 2013 season)

He gets an opportunity, and that's what matters.
JMo has always made the most of his opportunities. This MAY be a bridge too far, but if any undersized, less athletic center is capable of making the leap, then JMo is.
Worse comes to worse, he could probably play overseas. A high school classmate of mine who has a similar build as JMo (but likely with a lower basketball IQ) is currently playing pro overseas. Their standards are notably lower.
Either that, or JMo could use his Michigan engineering degree and make more money than most of the second rounders will make!

He will do well in OKC. They love running the floor and creating fast-paced offense, and that is exactly McGary's game. He will start off as a spark off the bench, but could easily become a starter with time.
