1 week 3 days ago	Just for those who will	Just for those who will forget what I am about to write...just so there is no misconceptions about where Blacksburg, VA location in the mid-Atlantic. It is no, and I mean no where near DC (5hrs) Richmond (2hrs) or Norfolk(4hrs). You would be better off getting a flight to Knoxville,TN, renting a car and driving up 81. Blacksburg has a very small regional airport and really won't accommodate anything more than a private plane situation.

Meaning, we had a major, and I mean major talent deficiency the last two seasons and did an amazing job. Less-than-star-less teams and solid no name contributors won us 19 games. Guess you are transferring to MSU. OMG, charging GA into the SS is an aggravated act hell bent on wedging ties against this generation of SS and all living alumni and the university. Straw-man...I am ashamed that you are a fan and potential alum of the university that I graduated from and have loved since I was five. I never would have acted like this. This wasn't an issue when I graduated in 2005.

The older crowd of "down in front" is going away if not shunned for saying the last couple years. Air Force, NW and Iowa games, people where standing, clapping, and cheering a lot. Section 23-25 is pretty tame, but I sat in 24 for MSU and everyone was into that game. You can keep pouting about what happen and try to make yourself feel better by degrading us alumni all you want. We will still buy more tickets than you, and still be here long after you are gone. Deal, seriously.

Each ticket is $30 each. Per game, that is 900k gross. The remaining stadium has 79k at $90 per game. That is a $7,110,000 gross per game. That is 7.11 million peeps. That is a nearly 7.3:1margin of difference between the gross revenue of the SS and everyone else. Do you see the difference now? Who exactly is the AD actually serving? And just keep in mind something, my $90 per game cost for the other 79k seats isn't even close to what they actually gross since PSLs and luxury box cost weren't taken into consideration. Add conservatively another 1 million there. Making it closer to a 8:1 margin conservatively. Finally, are 30k presumed student body buying merchandise, concessions, etc.? This argument about who these games are for is laughable. It is about every cotton-picking Michigan fan, not just the students. The AD makes the big money off us Alumni who are addicted to this thing we call Michigan football. The fact anyone is debating it is shocking to say the least. Get off my lawn! ~ 33 yrs young and crabby about it.

The change will effect the students, and they might lose interests in Michigan football. This seems like a less effective solution than a monitored points system. This policy effecting the student body will blow over in time, and a new problem of the real power players decreasing the SS by an entire section to bolster ticket profits. Usually the last four to six epis rock it out. They haven't written themselves into a corner yet, and there are sooooso many places to go for a non-book reader watcher person.

Your argument is nullified. Secondly, this issue is no longer a "fair" question. If the AD studies the issue, and evidence points to on average or in one game upwards or equal to 5400 students were not showing up by kickoff or at all, this now becomes a "equitable" situation. Simply, the student sections becomes a single "entity" and an equitable policy is applied. We don't care about your plight, since you created the issue. The AD has feed the monster for too long. That's a fair criticism, but only to a degree. Are you a fan and supporter of te UofM FB team or not? Do you want them to succeed or not? Do you believe in the "big house traditions or not? Last year they made a corrective action, the students didn't oblige with the HAIL - which was granted a shoddy attempt. This year they are changing policies and procedures and re-establishing an expectation for the SS. That is life. Deal. All this doesn't matter...I can tell you peeps who don't show or come late, you pissed off the wrong people. If powerful alumni are pressing the AD to make this change, they will do it since their money directly effects the whole AD and UofM.

Those 5400 empty seats could be sold at a small discount and make the AD and fans pretty damn happy. That's called a win win situation, versus a lose lose which our current method is providing. Bring on GA and eventually restricting it, if people don't get their priorities straight. Get your head out of your butt!
3 weeks 5 days ago	As a grumpy 33 year old who	As a grumpy 33 year old who is an alum, who also had student season tickets that were never that great, I missed two kickoffs. What has happened in the SS over the last few years is a shameful and disheartening occurrence. I am of the mind that we all will see the SS decrease. the AD owes the students nothing more than a chance to buy discounted tickets, and that might go away as well. So many of this generation doesn't get how special it is to have tickets, and don't care about the team. Just like most things in life, it is the few that ruin it for everyone. I have been to a lot of games, and the last two years I have heard more alumni and fans look at the empty seats and not just bitch, but express complete and utter outrage much like many of us have here. It is pathetic. I mean, I drank until 4am, and was up and doing it all over again by 8-9am; and then making a 12pm kickoff. Get over it. Shit, you get a disco nap and can go out again Saturday night if you are so inclined. What's the big deal when we kickoff?

5 weeks 3 days ago	Not that bad	Well, I am 33, and been through worse frankly in terms of my UofM fandom and pro sports teams I follow.  This is an easy tough loss to get over, since it was such a great ride and pleasure watching these young men come together and do something they probably shouldn't of done.  Having said that, they were such a dangerous team to play in the tourney, and people realize now that with this staff, quality players, UofM is back in the conversation.  Get there is so hard, and to do it consistently is nearly impossible.  So when we get here, don't be afarid to be proud of the accomplishment.  Man, what a ride -- and I don't even really enjoy baseket ball that much!  This always happens, but really the only thing irking me is the cock roaches from other BIG schools or national rabble rouser who are trying to disparage this team.  I don't mind a little ribbing, but don't bring up the Fab Five, our sanctions or how we got "lucky".  I had one boob who was trying to be funny and say that all our "good" players were ex-Pudue recruits, NW IN players, and that is the only reason we were good.  Not only does this person not make a lick of sense, but he had to bring up the negative issues we dealt with 10-15 years ago as a "we got what we deserved" straw-man arguement, as if it had anything to do with this team or staff.  I don't suffer fools well, so I slammed him down pretty fast.  It is what it is.  People are inheritently insecure about thier underpreforming sports teams.   I say be gracious in defeat, be proud of what happend.  It is one thing to lose, it is another to act like a loser.  Quite blamming anyone but ourselves.  We lost.  It is ok.  If things shake out for us this off-season, we could be really good next year.  It would be great to make runs like this consistently.

Basically, a cold shooting Hardaway and gased Albrecht? Staukas, who apparently left at half time to get some ice cream. Levert? Oh my begeebies, Levert!! He wasn't the answer, if anything a bigger problem Monday. Burke led/leads us, but we needed more from others in the title game. We just didn't get it Monday. No reason to analyze something worthless like that. Louisville wasn't getting blown out in that game. They are/were a big run team. If people are assuming we would have increased our lead to 20 before the half by keeping Burke in, I think that is marshmallow skies and strawberry fields type thinking.
