I feel it's about schemes. We had Ohio State beat because of our defense, and Ohio State seems to struggle with power offenses with good skill players. If Washington were to play OSU, I feel like their defense is a step down from Bama, and their offense plays into OSU's strength, which is athletic linebackers and awesome pass rush.
Was literally just going to type this. I hate Bama, but under no circumstances do I want Ohio State to be given an easier path (assuming they take care of Clemson, who I feel has been on borrowed time this year). Even when they were unlucky (sanctions, Tress steps down), they get Urban all giftwrapped. I don't care who wins it all this year...just not Ohio State.
I tend to sit in the Nordecke (supporters section) for Columbus Crew games, and there are warning signs upon entry that indicate colorful language will be used. It's not like you can't have your cake and eat it. That being said, there have ALWAYS been turds who seem to value the "hooligan" lifestyle over the club. I feels similar to someone who doesn't want their favorite indie band to make it big, because then they'd be "sellouts."
Again...the timing of a loss should not matter. Yet, it does so much. If OSU and Michigan opened the season playing one another, this would be a totally different conversation.
I used to live down the street in German Village. If you're in a pinch for time, Thurman To Go is next door. It's the Thurman's menu, but takeout only.
My problem with this isn't the fact that Franklin wants people to "let it go," it's the fact that he's saying this when Penn State is still in denial about what transpired there for 3 decades. How is the public supposed to let something go when your institution and fanbase haven't even owned up to it?
I think Beilein to be the inverse Hoke: not the best in the recruiting game, but he does coach them up and gets the most return from his investments.
I agree on the new assistants. I think they've lacked a young, fresh face (see: Harbaugh, Jay and Partridge, Chris) who the kids can relate and connect with.
I don't know if the isolation is the end all be all confirmation, though. I know a lot of kids that prefer to be alone because they're just very introverted. I'm alluding to more of the "single track" mind that allows him to seemingly only see one thing, as well as his social abilities. Many comment (and laugh) at the awkwardness of his social skills and ability to recognize cues or context. Hell, the man doesn't like people using animal analogies, likely because he doesn't see the logic in doing so.
He tends to operate in "absolutes," which definitely is a sign.
One thing that stood out to me was how they noted that Lewis is poised for a "big jump." How? I mean, is it possible for him to be EVEN BETTER? Statistically speaking, he was one (if not) the best corners in the country. If he can improve upon that. Well...that's downright terrifying
