Just by looking at the stats for some of the rookies, Exum seems relatively average, but definitely not the worst offensively.

Makes me wonder if the NCAA would have had the nerve to suspend an athlete at University of Colorado if they tested positive for weed (a la McGary), despite every other kid on campus being allowed to get baked all they want.

It's a bit ironic how unsubstantiated your own claims are when making the determination that anybody who has faith in a god is an unintelligent, narrow-minded person. In fact, your statement that Jesus was "an almost assuredly fictional character" is very misguided in its own right, considering you'll probably never find a religious studies professor anywhere that will tell you he did not exist.

Really hope that doesn't happen, especially since they'd get a nice matchup in the S16 with Xavier or Georgia St. The last thing I'd want to see is OSU sniffing a Final Four.

The school actually has a natural history museum of some sort, which includes bones from an allosaurus and other dinosaurs. And all these fossils are just a couple thousand years old. Who wouldda thought.

First on the list of Eastern Washington's notable alums is Colon Cowherd...yikes.

Well, you'd think in this day and age it would make some sense for athletic departments to be tuned into what fans are saying online. Reading through a bunch of comments on Bleacher Report probably isn't worthwhile; however, MGoBlog gets a ton of traffic from generally well-informed users, many of whom are alumni.

On ESPN's Twitter feed for the game, someone said McGary grabbed his first 8 boards in just over 4 minutes. So if he played the whole time, that'd be like 120 rebounds!

What makes you think winning the BTT is that farfetched? They've proved they can keep up with any team in the league. Getting past Wisconsin will be tough, but it's not like Arizona and Kentucky would be looming after that.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah, some of those teams had||
Yeah, some of those teams had crossed my mind, but the disparities in academic reputation I'm not sure are quite as big - maybe UGA/GTech and Georgetown/GW, though.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Exactly. Michigan is clicking||
Exactly. Michigan is clicking and has proven they can compete with any team in the league. Winning the BTT might not be quite as improbable as you'd think.

Ugh. If only we pulled out a W against Villanova. That would have been a huge signature win to mitigate those bad losses.

It's also crazy how the nearest sun, aside from our own, is a distance of like three lightyears from Earth. And with most being way farther off than that, when you see stars at night, you're basically looking at "images" of them from thousands of years ago.

I've always gotten the very strong impression that the manner in which the MSU contingent conducts themselves when it comes to athletics is largely rooted in the sense of insecurity a great deal of them develop as they feel their university is caught in UofM's shadow, especially regarding academics.

Looks like Darius Morris is gonna give it a shot also. Guess he's thinking about a dual NBA/NFL career.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Eh, I dunno. With the||
Eh, I dunno. With the recruiting services and all the attention, hype and praise 17 yr old HS kids get nowadays, there is 0 doubt that many get an overinflated sense of how good they are. I just imagine tons of young kids opting to play in a minor league, thinking it'll just be a couple years until they're in the NBA.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||So hypothetically, if Morris||
So hypothetically, if Morris redshirted this season due to being buried on the depth chart, could he then transfer after winter semester and still have two more seasons of eligibility remaining? Otherwise, it'd make a lot more sense to take the RS, get a Michigan degree, and then look at other schools for his fifth year.

From my experience playing club soccer back in the day, there definitely seemed to be plenty of talent around the state. I'll always remember one season when my team was doing really well, handily winning our first 10 or so games against what I thought was good competition. Then we had a game against Vardar and just got utterly destroyed. Like 12-1.

Maybe you're thinking Phi Delta Theta, across the street from SAE. Pretty sure a really bad accident happened at a party there a long time ago, hence the reason they've become a "dry" house.

Blah. I remember when their stuff first started being played on the radio and thinking "at least this band is too awful to last." And here we are some 15 years later...
|3 weeks 1 day ago||All things considered, it's||
All things considered, it's likely in the player's best interest to go pro if they're a probable lottery pick. If Stauskas had stayed another year, it's hard to imagine his game improving enough to justify the risk of falling in the draft.

With Burke, for every couple good outings he has, it seems like he goes cold the next night.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||The biggest benefit of||
The biggest benefit of staying in college another year would have been the opportunity for GRIII to work his way up the draft boards to become an all but certain first rounder, IMO. I'm not sure how much contract logistics come into play, but it seems NBA teams tend to give their first draft choices a lot more leeway and time to develop.

What's unfortunate is that I feel like the accomplishments of Glen Rice and the 1989 team get a bit overshadowed by the Fab Five era.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||It's certainly understandable||
It's certainly understandable why many dislike Chris Webber; the feeling has seemed pretty mutual, too, especially since he hasn't expressed much desire to make amends with the University.

Hopefully a decent handful of all the California kids being offered ultimately choose to play for Michigan. No doubt the Harbaugh name is really prominent out there, so it definitely makes sense for the coaching staff to take advantage.

It's actually a thing nowadays that fraternities/sororities try to have a bunch of members living in the new, luxury apartments?

Aside from the 49ers, Steelers, and a couple others, NFL team names are just so bland. Bengals, Lions, Jets, Bears, Titans...nothing original or historical about those.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||No doubt. The most||
No doubt. The most versatile/polished athlete prior to Bo Jackson was Jim Thorpe, I'd say. And a half century is probably about how often you'll see an athlete gifted enough to accomplish anywhere near what those two did. There aren't many reasons to wish I was older, but having been able to watch Jackson play is one.

Yeah, especially with Ondre Pipkins. Can't believe it's been over three years since watching what looked like a refrigerator somehow chase down Stefon Diggs when he played in the Army All-American game.
