We hear a ton of hate expressed by the MSU side for reasons that extend beyond just football. They know their university is shadowed by Michigan in almost all facets. For that reason, they are driven by added feelings of vitriol to want to beat us. Plus, dare I say, most MSU students and alumni that applied to both schools to begin with, probably didn't actually have a choice to make at the end of the day. And that seems to contribute to their greater animosity.

Man, a few days ago I mentioned in the 'This Week's Obsession' post about Denard being my all-time fav Michigan player and how lucky we were to have him, but also that he'd hopefully have a breakout game in the NFL eventually. Wasn't necessarily expecting it to happen this weekend, though!

LOL, straight from Urban Dictionary.

Maybe when people realize that with Payne and Harris being recently selected, Izzo doubled his number of players to get drafted in like, 10+ years. Or that, despite very good recruiting classes with mostly all 4/5 star players, just one(!) of the 4 star guys has gone on to play in the NBA, that being Draymond Green.

This would be a more convincing tactic by DB if the "letter" didn't include the signature of literally all 27 varsity coaches. I mean, come on. At least leave a couple names off to make it seem slightly less suspicious. It's almost like copying another kid's math homework, but using the exact same answer for all 50 problems and expecting the teacher not to notice.
Use your common sense, Dave! ...oh wait.

LOL. I can't wait to pick up a fifth of Wonderwebber.

No doubt band members tend to have that extra freaky side. I only knew a handful of people in the MMB, but they made it quite clear things could get pretty wild during their parties. Plus the guy that wrote the American Pie series is a Michigan alum, so he obviously knew all about that.

On the investigation with their band, I thought it was a joke when I first saw this being cited as an actual quote from the official statement OSU released. Yet, it turned out this was actually happening, with the statement indeed saying, word-for-word:

Darboh "has massively built calf muscles as compared to the rest of his 'mates"...until you stand him next to Max Bielfeldt. Then they look like twigs.

Really like President Schlissel so far; it seems like he already "gets it," to a surprisingly large extent, when it comes to sports at Michigan, namely football. I thought he'd be less outspoken on the topic while he became more familiar with the tradition and culture of Michigan Athletics, as well as the expectations of alumni.

That's a great story about Denard and speaks volumes to his character. The gif of him cheering with the Maize Rage also is a testament of his love for Michigan and being a part of the student body.

Couldn't disagree more. The parties you'd find at Staee were always just a bunch of brahs along with girls that acted really dumb and obnoxious after a few drinks. Plus, more often than not, the people would all be from the same hometown, pathetically clinging to their high school friends. MSU parties were typically smaller and just less exciting, also. And you'd have to pay someone $5 or $10 for a stupid Solo cup to drink their Keystone beer.

This makes me imagine the possibility of Dave Brandon with his own drone aircraft, using a little remote controller to skywrite something like "True Michigan Fans Eat Chobani" over the stadium whenever his heart desires.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you aren't inherently a huge prick (which I'm pretty confident you aren't, regardless), but to be so ignorant of mental health issues in this day and age as to criticize someone, literally anyone, for being "hooked" on antidepressants is, more than anything, very saddening.
It's this type of outlook that perpetuates what is already a huge, detrimental stigma towards psychiatric complications. Due to this stigma alone, people suffering from mental health problems often don't seek help as well as try to cover up their illnesses. So guess what the end result is all too often? Suicide.
And as an FYI, antidepressants are taken prophylactically; for these medications to be effective you have to be "hooked." Plus, to just stop taking them would cause terrible withdrawal effects.
So please, just try to have a better perception on the issue - one that makes you part of the solution, not the problem.

It worked out well for Bill O'Brien. The success he had at Penn State probably helped him become a HC in the NFL sooner than if he had kept his job as OC in NE.

Urban Meyer deserves nothing but criticism for the kind of person he is. Even if it meant winning multiple NC's, I still would never want him as our coach.
|1 week 5 days ago||Paying extra for a big name||
Paying extra for a big name shouldn't be a cause for higher ticket prices. As long as the guy is successful (by Michigan standards), a winning football program will pull in tens of millions more than the added expense of having a top notch coach.

So if what Franklin currently saying is a lie, and he did in fact see this video of the incident, he must have immediately dismissed the four players involved regardless, no? I guess I'm not understanding the point in refuting his past statement as long as he responded to the situation appropriately.

You sound like you're bitter that students are being acknowledged because they get offered tickets at a cheaper rate. In reality though, they're some of the most important people to listen to; it's the students that are the future big donors.
|1 week 6 days ago||I have to agree with you that||
I have to agree with you that 2010 Illinois was really thrilling to watch. It's one of those games I just won't forget. But then you think twice about two teams each scoring 60+ points in a college football game.
|2 weeks 51 min ago||It's really a shame the Pats||
It's really a shame the Pats didn't hold on to him. The receivers who tend to really thrive in NE with Brady at QB are guys with sure-hands that run excellent routes...which are Gallon's best attributes. Plus the shared Michigan roots would make for a Brady/Gallon duo that's got tons of swagger
|2 weeks 2 hours ago||For a team to actually make||
For a team to actually make this a part of their defensive strategy...that just seems petty and beyond the scope of the game of football. I would be pretty embarrassed if Michigan were to do something similar.
|2 weeks 4 hours ago||Shocked I was able to read||
Shocked I was able to read all that. Basically it just says our coaches need to be more flexible with their X's and O's in order adapt to the game as it changes. Not really anything else to it.

On that sack Henry had, the BTN commentators were pretty insistent he should have been called for a face mask. I was pretty baffled since, just like in the gif here, it was quite clear that Henry brought him down by the shoulder. Seems like vision difficulties were common on Saturday
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||It seems like you're under||
It seems like you've kind of got a notion that Norfleet is pretty poor as a return man. Sure, he's no Des or Breaston, but Dennis has been pretty serviceable in the role. He doesn't have elite, breakaway speed, but he's got some nice burst along with being a very shifty runner. If he can improve his field vision and decisiveness, I think he could make some pretty big strides as a returner.

I'd quite possibly bet every dollar I have that it doesn't happen, but if Hoke miraculously gets this team to show extraordinary improvement basically overnight, win 5-6 more games, and finish with a bowl win, there might be a case to keep him.

Maybe Dave Brandon knows his time as AD is all but over and he just doesn't give two shits anymore. So in response to this alumna's email, DB didn't care to hide his true colors, thus exuding his condescending and egotistical persona.

To come to that conclusion, you'd have to know each and every player on the team pretty well.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||If this actually generated||
If this actually generated enough interest to happen, Brandon would know what's coming beforehand. Hence, he'd almost undoubtedly come up with something to try and take the heat off him, such as offering students a free slice of pizza right around kickoff time. That way, he can spew out some BS as to why they weren't at their seats on time.
