I always figured BYU would be adding a team sooner rather than later. They always have a solid club team and have some built in recruiting from all over the country. There is a huge Mormon population in a lot of the lacrosse hot bed (massive Temple in DC and the religion started in upstate New York).
Plus, having the missionary break built in means they'd constantly be fielding older teams which I think could give them an advantage in fielding a good team their first few years ("Hey, come here and play lacrosse, but go on your mission first while we recruit a bunch of other good players for two years, and when you come back we'll have three classes of recruits all ready to play").

Thankfully they don't play D1 hockey on "The Big Pond". 197x115 ft. Wut?

Is anyone else on a ski vacation at Whistler? Want to find a bar to apres ski and watch the bowl game?

They should be calling Forsbergian as he was the first one to pull that move. They even put it on a postage stamp in Sweden.

I would like to point out that the Military Bowl/DC bowl is no longer being played in DC, rather it's at Navy's Stadium in Annapolis (which means no beer...but I digress). I am therefore in full support of renaming it the Old Bay Crab Bowl or something similar.

Except the hours suck. They don't open until 9am and the terrible pool there has even worse hours. And if it's even slightly busy the weight room gets incredibly cramped. Great? Eastern's Rec is way better. In fact every college campus I've been on has a better rec center.

My dad had a stress related siezure two weeks ago (or at least I think it's stress related) and his doc told him not to work for a month. I think Coach Kill needs to do something similar because this has happened before.

Since they only have sideline and corner tickets available does that mean endline tickets (because I'm cheap) will be available at a later date without the lottery?

It was either Spain or Brazil that played North Korea at the last world cup, that was probably as much of a mismatch, but still go Tahiti. That Tahiti/Nigeria match could have been a lot closer, I thought Tahiti should have had two more goals and Nigeria could have easily had two less goals (first one was a double deflection and the third was a fumble by the Tahitian keeper). Granted Nigeria did dribble the ball over the end line three or four times with a wide open net infront of them.
Hopefully we get to see more of this sometime this tournament:

I quickly drew up a sketch of the entire area they are trying to redevelop as well as where the arena would be located.

It may be just because I really like soccer, but I think the Men's soccer games are some of the best non-revenue games. Especially for matches against State and OSU the student section gets pretty rowdy with a good set of organized cheers. Plus the soccer facility is really nice.
I've also been to a tennis match at the indoor facility and that was pretty fun as well.

Also, the fact that NHL network isn't even an option on UVERSE swayed me away from it, though I believe that's the cable provider at my new house next year.

I've honestly had no problems in the 6 years I've had it in Ann Arbor. The first place I moved into here, the tech spent 3 hours to run new lines throughout the whole even though I paid no installation fee.
Never had service problems and the one time I had a problem with my box it took me all of 15 minutes at the Comcast store to exchange it for a new one.

It's 728 on Ann Arbor comcast (not HD) and 620 on Directtv according to wikipedia.

Hopkins has a D3 club hockey team that appears to have 10 kids on it, not sure where you got the hockey idea from. Adding a different hockey only school is possible, but it won't be Hopkins.

Can we get rid of the out of state students with money to burn meme. U of M costs roughly 50k per year to go to out of state but I, and many others, came here because it's one of the best schools in the country. I and my parents scrimped and saved and got loans so I could attend this great instituion. Most out of state students do not have money to burn, and guess what? Every in state student isn't a diehard fan.

I usually see the abbreviation as UMD (MD=Maryland) or UMCP (University of Maryland College Park as there are 4 other schools in the UM system).
And this letter is hilarious and more importantly makes my Terp friends very embarrassed.

|1 year 41 weeks ago||Quick and dirty decoder ring||
This is in order of how I and my hockey playing/following friends see the league setup.
KHL (Russian pro league, this is where a lot NHLer went during the lockout)
AHL (think AAA baseball)
High Level Premier European Leagues (Swedish, etc)
ECHL (think AA baseball)
SPHL (A baseball)
Federal League (not from the movie slapshot. I know they pay their players, beyond that I know nothing other than it only has 4 teams)
Next we have the junior/college level leagues which also have high school players
Canadian Major Junior (OHL=mostly Ontario; QMJHL=Quebec and east; WHL=west Canada, Washington, Oregon.) Major junior leagues pay their players a stipend which in the NCAA's eyes make them professional and destroys college eligibility. Junior requires players to be 16 to 20.
CIS (Canadian University, typically older than NCAA players and most likely have played major junior as that does not make you ineligible, usually not going anywhere afterwards)
Junior A Tier I
USHL-Premier US Junior league, the NDTP (National Development Training Program) has it's under 18 team play in this league.
Canada has a series of leagues (BCHL, OJHL) that play at the same level as the USHL and do not pay their players so the players retain elibility
Junior A Tier II
The NAHL is considered a Tier II Junior A league, it is filled with young players (15 or 16) trying to move up to the USHL and then on to high leagues or 18/19/20 year olds still chasing the dream. Most of Eastern Michigan's club roster is guys who played in the NAHL at the end of or after high school.
There is Tier III junior A, then Junior B, and Junior C.
Next comes the high school or Midget levels. High school in Minnesota or the New England preps schools is equal (in my opinion) to Midget AAA played by teams out of the Detroit area.
