I've seen variations of this…

I've seen variations of this over the last few years, and I like it. It seems like a no-brainer. One idea with regard to the effect on non-conference schedules would be to actually expand the conference schedule by a game or two. I'd a lot rather see us play another Big Ten team, even a lower - tier team, than watch us steam roll some random non-conference team.

Here here.

There was nothing like Yost in the early to mid - 90's. Thank you Red.

Right or wrong

Right or wrong, the post makes me very sad. I agree with Brian, but man do I wish it were different.

And that is all that needs to be said

You can't fit an Olympic - size sheet in Yost, and that is all there is to say about it.

1. My first game at the Big

1. My first game at the Big House, as a freshman, Desmond's TD catch against ND.

2. The '96 OSU game and Woodson's punt return. The Heismans framed my college experience.

3. First OSU game I attended, 1991, and the girl from Columbus standing in the aisle next to me openly weeping as the clock wound down. Not being from a UM family, that was when the depth of the rivalry really hit me.

He was great in Dogma

One of my favorites, and he was perfect for the role.

It's called All Day for a reason...

It's a "session beer," meaning it's not meant to be heavy or high ABV - you can drink it all day (or mow the lawn, as they illustrate on the label). Think of it as a light beer with flavor. Most IPAs are going to be heavier and higher in alcohol, but this one isn't by design.

Home Brewed ESB

I do fine work.

Sean Ritchlin

I think the color commentator is Sean Ritchlin. Played for UM 1995 - 1999.

Chesson

The quote from Chesson concerning the draft, individual accolades and team success is priceless, maybe one of the best statements I've seen from a college athlete. Johnson's right - he's got his shit together.

Absolutely

The stock market really is nothing more than every market participant's evaluation of all the available information, and is therefore an accurate measure. To see the phenomenon in action, there was a contest run by the Planet Money Blog this summer with contestants guess the weight of a cow. The guesses were all over the place, but the average was astoundingly close(Goolge Penelope the Cow's Weight). But a better example for this board is looking at NFL teams' records versus the spread... they are almost all 500 against the spread over time, or within a small margin one side or the other. The spread is nothing more than the consensus handicap of the game... moving as bets come in on either side. So at the end of the day the consensus line of the game, based on each bettor's evaluation of the odds, is a good indicator of what the outcome will be. This has been your behavioural finance nerd PSA for the day.

Glasgow for defensive MVP

The fate of a good nose tackle is to go underappreciated until they are not there to be appreciated. The fact that Glasgow was appreciated before missing the game is a testament to how good he truly is. Morgan and Bolden were lost in the wash all game.

When we muffed a punt in a high school game... Our coach glared at the offensive line and demanded to know why we were punting in the first place. And he was right.
This.

One more first down, pretty much any point in the fourth quarter, and we win that game. This is the ultimate team game. It was a horrible way to lose, and I hate it, but if we got three more yards on the previous three plays, Blake never sees the field and Rudock is taking a knee to run out the clock.

McCarthy

My favorite writer, my favorite book. Go Blue.

Glad to see Mary get some recognition

I worked at the Union from 1992 to 1995 as a Student Building Manager and got to spend hours in those offices with Mary and the crew in Scheduling. She definitely deserves the tribute. It was always great to see her when I was a student, and 20 years later when I moved backt to Ann Arbor, seeing her there and saying hi as though I'd only been gone a short time made it a true homecoming.

Saw him there

Didn't think it was worth a thread, but my son and I were in line behind him (way behind him - they were swamped today). Considering he was at the Secretary of State's office, which is miserable on a good day, he was smiling and waving to everyone who made eye contact, and when he left he waved to the whole room. Silly, I know, and I wasn't going to make a thread about it, but it was cool to see him and he's obviously happy to be here. It was nice to see that most people there were content to smile and nod, and not bug him too much for autographs and handshakes. That has to get old.

Several years ago, we fumbled

Several years ago, we fumbled the ball against Purdue late in the game, and I threw a couch cushion across the room. Not a big deal, if I'd been in my own house, with my own couch cushion, instead of a roomful of strangers at a party whom I'd met only a few hours before.
