I would be going if it was a day game, but already have evening plans. There will be plenty of M fans there though. The Chicago alumni club sold over 300 tickets. The rockit burger bar at the corner of clark and waveland is a michigan bar and hq for tonight. The diag (with a replica M in their patio) is about a mile away at southport and george. Have fun, wish i was there. Bring your ski gear and a blanket. My son's 8 am game was played in the snow at the lakefront fields this morning-brrrr........

rockit burger bar is right at wrigley. not far from wrigley is a great newer michigan bar "the diag"- they were jack's bar and grill and just renamed themselves "the diag" due to their michigan sponsorship. they even duplicated the block m from the diag in their beer garden patio. they typically have give aways as well. it's between diversey and wellington on southport about a mile south of wrigley and 1/4 mile west.
duffy's owners like to get michigan alumni money but don't give anything to ann arbor or the local alumni. |

You are so wrong . While it is very clear that many mistakes were made do not turn your back on the university as a whole. Forgiveness is the ky to life. We learn and move on. Move on w the one's we love. And we all love this university very much. It is not perfect, but it's as close as it gets. |

There have been a number o msm articles written on it and all point to th pathetic character demonstrated by your player during the game an your coach and administration since the game. the book defintiely comes off more towards rodriquez than the university, but that should be expected since bacon had complete access to rodriguez, but not to brandon, mary sue, and lloyd. when they don't give their side directly like rodriguez bacon is left with pulling together what he can from what he directly knows and other sources. However, remember bacon is blue thorugh and through and i have spoken to him about the book so i don't believe he threw any wild punches. |

no pictures or visuals. bacon said he actually had to tell the publisher that "don't worry about a 400 page book not having pictures- this is michigan- they will ead it."
he says his publisher is very high brow and loved this comment. his publisher is now reading sports blogs and told him " you know the michigan alums are really a lot smarter than those texas alums" in comparing the quality of critiques n the blog.
the book also mentions mgoblog and brian by name in a couple of instances. mostly, in regards to giving brian credit for refering to the appy state game as "the horror"- and he mentions "kittens" as well.
great book- evn better discussion by bacon at the chicago event. bacon will probably be making a return visit for the chicago alumni association in November - i'll keep you posted. |

the john bacon event is tomorrow evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Jack's bar and grill at 2826 N southport (lakeview). this is a chicago alumni association event not a book publisher event. John will make some initial comments, have Q&A, and then sign books.
i think the suggestion of call letters for this topic is a good idea- maybe JUB (john u bacon) or JB. |
