Peppers at 10, which seems low.

Convenient way to go through life. Not a lot of thought required.
Counter: The entire NFC South also sucks. Doesn't mean some of them don't suck worse than others.

"4 or 5 years from meow" is my new favorite mangled autocorrect.
For some reason, in the middle of this unusually heated (for mgoblog) thread, that literally made me lol.

"Please list all the Big Ten non-conference wins that are impressive?"
Well, there's always Indiana (alone in last in the Big Ten East at 0-6 in conference) beating Missouri (alone in first in the SEC East at 5-1 in conference) 31-27.
I wouldn't call the LSU win over Wisconsin particularly impressive - assuming you actually watched the game. Wisconsin had to lose their entire interior DL (to injury) and that dude that just jogged for 400+ yards (to coaching stupidity) in the 2nd half to let LSU back in the game.

I've been thinking about this for, like, 30 seconds.
What Harbaugh really wants (in any job) is control. Tell him he can come in as HC... and AD - and draw both salaries.
Get some vice AD type to do all the actual *work* - but Harbaugh has the final word.
Two birds, one stone, all that.

The key is whether the BCS takes Oklahoma or Oregon. If they take Oregon, it bumps all the BIG12 teams down one, making it a pretty decent Michigan VS Texas game.
We should all be Duck fans today.

Could be the case that the coaches are specifically not great at coaching young players up *quickly*. Could even be a deliberate decision to not apply bandaid short-term fixes that would result in bad fundamentals, and instead focus on getting the correct fundamentals ingrained (which is almost by definition not a short-term process).
Sorry, but the whole 1-4/2-3 stuff, the unrelenting negativity - it's just too much. OK, back to lurking!

And Tressel was the opposite - crapped the bed repeatedly in big OOC games, but couldn't miss against Michigan. Kinda ironic as this helped fuel the perception issues they're dealing with today.
Certainly could be argued that it was better for the Big Ten as a conference when OSU was under Cooper and could beat anyone not named Michigan. I know I was a happier dude.

Nah - Michigan needs to go max protect and look deep early and often. If they can put the secondary back on their heels early that may open up some running later - at a minimum, it should open up space for Gardner to scramble.
They need to absolutely concede that this isn't the game to start establishing POWER MANBALL PUSH PUSH PUSH from play one.
I don't necessarily disagree with your general premise about the OL, though - outcome could well depend on their cohesion in terms of protecting Gardner.

"He's probably taking heat from his home fans. If Stanford fans even care."
Answered your own question. Part of the appeal of HC jobs at schools like Texas, Alabama, and Michigan is definitely the passionate and knowledgable fanbases.

There is a lot to remember and be thankful for here.
Even if I question, occasionally, why he isn't blitzing more - Mattison is the best DC Michigan has had in a long time.
18-0 at home. Under the current regime, I haven't once left a game feeling anything but great. I enjoy the entire Michigan gameday experience - from getting there early and tailgating with the guys to the post game "finish what's in the cooler" analysis. Have had a lot of good Saturdays in Ann Arbor with Hoke at the helm.
Entertainment value - hey, you'd be hard pressed to find a team that's played more exciting - jump out of your seat - games over the last two and a half seasons. And we've won more of those than we've lost. Sometimes I think it would be pretty boring to be an Alabama/Oregon fan, and only have a game past the first quarter a couple times a year. (Other times I think GIVE ME THAT BOREDOM!!@!)
Devin. He's just fun to watch, and his ceiling really is so high - a lot of the mistakes he's made are the sort of thing you'd expect from a young quarterback that hasn't quite made the leap to "gameday speed" when it comes to making decisions. Should be a lot of fun to watch next year and then we may be treated to a genuine QB battle between 5-star quality players after he leaves.
Lewan. The fact he stayed tells me something about Michigan football, and the coaching staff. Passing up guaranteed millions, taking a chance at injury (I know, insurance, but it wouldn't cover what he'd lose) - that's something rare and special from a potential top-ten pick.
Oh, and in case you didn't notice - JMFR is back.

You don't believe we can complete a pass in situations where the defense is selling out against the run?
My major ongoing problem is that I'm able to call Michigan's offensive plays correctly about 75% of the time just based on situation and how they line up. And I'm no defensive coordinator.
We don't ever make adjustments based on what the defense is showing. Don't understand that. Don't understand why they don't get to the line 5-8 seconds sooner in nearly every situation. Remember the other delay of game we should have been called on (and wish we were, after the play was run)? Just because the refs didn't catch it doesn't mean it didn't happen. And there are so many other times where Gardner is just barely beating the clock - I'm puzzled why this hasn't been addressed in practice because it's something that's relatively easy to work on and it's having an impact.
I also believe this hurts our defense - it's clear that they struggle when a team goes up-tempo, maybe because they never see it in practice. Indiana is going to play fast next week.
It goes without saying that the delay of game at the end of the PSU game was just nuts. Not going to put that on Borges, though. If Hoke isn't calling the offense and isn't calling the defense, he should @#$% sure be monitoring clock and display some situational awareness.

From "just wait till next year" to "just wait till the year after next".
I thought Magnuson looked good in relief, especially given the circumstances.
