At least you're being honest. A few other people around here could benefit from admitting that.

Two bottles if you're flush at the moment so I can give one to Ron Swanson. Thanks.

It's a sign of how far down we've been when an alleged hype video spends the first several minutes showing our opponents celebrating a win over us.
On top of that, the lion stuff was stupid. Don't we already have a well-known predatory mammal to refer to?

I totally agree with everything you say, with one small caveat:
Everybody who disagrees with me is wrong.

is a suitable replacement for Frank. Brandstatter is a wonderful color guy, but a play-by-play guy he ain't.
|2 days 16 hours ago||Unfortunate||
When you have a full athletic scholarship that pays the vast majority of your costs to attend one of the best public universities in the world on top of playing football for one of the very best coaches in the game for one of the most prestigious blueblood programs, you've got prosperity.
Some people just can't stand prosperity.

That's just flat out wrong and stupid. He's as big a Michigan fan as you'll ever be and ten times as knowledgeable about Michigan sports, and anybody who spent more than fifteen minutes listening to the morning show would understand that. He attended UM but graduated from Maryland, has other family connections to Maryland, on top of the fact that he grew up in that state, but he does not root for Maryland over Michigan.
|3 days 19 min ago||I've heard actual real analysis about football once from him||
I'm a regular listener to the morning show on WTKA, and he frequently breaks down the game in far more technical terms than I can understand. A lot of the other stuff he says is standard radio bombast, hot takes and hot air, but his knowledge is pretty evident when he gets to it.

What do you think Harbaugh's reaction would be if Kalis whiffs on a block and then says that to him on the sidelines?

You're mixed up—that's the name of Tyrion Lannister's weapons and armor assistant in Season 3.

While it was certainly painful, the scars weren't any worse for me than those after the other eleven Rose Bowl losses in '70, '72, '77, '78, '79, '83, '87, '90, '92, '04, and '07.

Considering the incredible amount of graft, fraud, waste, and money laundering that goes on at every Olympics, not to mention the amount of money that the IOC bigwigs have access to, this factoid is particularly disgusting.

Drawing conclusions about how good the OL or DL are is like trying to whip up a thick beef stew out of a couple of 10-year old boullion cubes, an old carrot, a shrunken potato, and a teaspoon of lard.
|6 days 18 hours ago||Define "influence."||
"Someone driving under the influence of MJ (which is and will remain illegal) is no where near as impaired as someone driving under the influence of alcohol."
If you're referring to being stoned out of your gourd as compared to being stone drunk, I'd agree with you.
If you're equating being stoned out of your gourd with having a beer under your belt, that's ridiculous horseshit.
I know many people who are content with a single beer or two—not sober from a legal standpoint, but far from being significantly intoxicated. Virtually all of the pot smokers I've known since 1970 have no other goal than getting as high as possible every single time they light up.

at least half the team would qualify as obese, which is a BMI of 30 or more.
Onwenu is listed at 6-3. If he weighed 240, his BMI would still be 30.
Tyrone Wheatley Jr.'s BMI is 31.9, which makes him "obese" as well.

This is the only acceptable type of chapeau:
|1 week 2 days ago||maybe Warde had another "conversation" with him||
Who was Warde Manuel's head coach at Michigan? Do you honestly believe that head coach gave a flying crap about the media? So why would Manuel issue so much as peep to Harbaugh? This is a complete fucking non-issue that professional pearl-clutchers in the sports media are trying to gin up into something worth mentioning. Fuck Murphy and fuck Snyder.

|1 week 3 days ago||he could've handled the end of the press conference better||
"O.K., from a distance Bo comes on like a yahoo. And that's Bo's public image. He has had horrible problems with the press, which has this nasty habit of wanting to talk to him when he loses, his mother's advice notwithstanding. But even if the media's timing were better, it probably wouldn't make much difference, because Bo hates the press. Not just a little. A lot. The Voice of Michigan Football, Bob Ufer, says he has tried to get Schembechler to be nicer to the media. "But he told me," says Ufer, " 'Bob, if I win, I don't need the press, and if I lose, they can't help me.' " Ufer defends Schembechler, whose record at Michigan over 12 years is 114-21-3; Bo's teams have won the Big Ten title twice and tied for it seven times.
Until a couple of years ago, he would routinely storm out of press conferences, kick reporters out of the sessions ("Don't be offended," says one of Bo's friends. "He'd kick Millie out, too"), make himself unavailable and order his players not to talk. Talking very softly once at a press conference, he was asked to speak up. "I'm speaking as loudly as I can," said Bo softly and arrogantly. And in a memorable set-to on Oct. 1, 1979, Schembechler gave an absolutely unnecessary push to a publicity-seeking college newspaper reporter.
Yet too much is read into all this. As Don Canham, athletic director at Michigan, says, "Bo is oblivious to life."
|1 week 5 days ago||if Bo would run the wishbone||
Option QB Rich Hewlett was the starter for the first two games in '80, but the offense sputtered badly and after the ND game (in which Wangler came in off the bench and almost won it for us) Wangler was the starter the rest of the season.
If Lawrence Taylor hadn't torn up Wangler's knee in the '79 Gator Bowl, it's possible that Bo might have had him run the occasional option—Wangs didn't have bad wheels prior to his injury. However, having Carter it was imperative that our QB be able to get the ball downfield to him reliably, and the best way of doing that was to run a simple pro-set, which was definitely Wangler's strength.

This is nothing new to Michigan football. Ask any receiver who played for Bo and they'll tell you that if you didn't block, you didn't play.
