Calculated move by Meyer. No one tells this story without knowing how it will be received. While pretending to tell an endearing story about the former coach, he is, in fact, attempting to lower Hayes reputation... thereby loweing the bar for himself to be considered the greatest coach in OSU history. Meyer is a manipulative premeditating liar. True story. |

OSU prez and NCAA prez old roomates, colleagues, and still consider each other "good friends". There is no hammer coming down on OSU. Its why they have been so arrogant, because they can. I believe as much as anything the conversations already been had, OSU knows exactly whats coming its way. It will be about 15% worse than their self imposed penalties, it will be orchastrated that way so the NCAA can claim some sort of tough action.

I'm glad the old point system is gone. People are back to talking football around here. In pursuit of points this place had turned into endless postings of lolcats, 'funny' animated gifs, users who couldn't put a comment together without the mgomeme, and contests to see who could be snarkiest... not to mention the my way or the highway mentality that turned everyone into a circle jerk participant (er, I mean mgocirclejerk). Think like us, talk like us, or we will negbang you! Ugh. Even though I don't comment much, I check this site multiple times a day, many more than a 30 year old should. This is the best college football blog on the planet, and while not perfect, currently mgoblog is as good as its been in a loooong time. Yeh, I'm good with how it is. |

I've heard/read Bacon on a couple different media outlets now.. and the one impression I come away with... one that surprised me and I wasn't looking for... is this guy goes out of his way to be objective and non partisan. He doesn't look find a scape goat or place blame on any one person or action. The guy seems to recognize the world is shades of grey. And lets me honest, black and white sells. Friend or enemy. His book would have sold more copies if he came out and placed the major blame on any one subject.. if he took a side... if he manufactured controversy. IMO, he took the high road, and made an attempt to tell as accurate of a story as he could. I admire him for that. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | First, I have for years |
First, I have for years admired Lloyd Carr. But to say he can't be something he isn't is ridiculous. I am reserved person, I don't like to be in the spot light, I would never want to be in front of the microphones for an interview. But mess with my family, and I don't care what I am "comfortable" with or not, I am going to war. If you're saying Carr can't be a certain type of person, its not the type of person who is comfortable out in the media. Its the type person who lacks the integrity to stick up for his family. (and before someone wigs out on me, I am not saying Lloyd lacks integrity. I am saying if you fully believe a person is just a certain way and they can't change, then u must believe that certain type that Lloyd is lacks the integrity to stand up for family when they are attacked. He didn't, it wasn't because he isn't that type of person, it was a conscious calculated move on his part, what for I don't know) |

| 1 year 30 weeks ago | We are all, especially in |
We are all, especially in sports, judged by a standard set by those who came before us. Bo created a standard here for how a coach should act and who a coach should be. Put Lloyd Carr somewhere that didn't have a Bo standard, and few would question is greatness or commitment to the program. Unfortunately for him, he exists at a place that has an incredibly high standard for what a coach, or Michigan Man, should be. Lloyd Carr doesn't match up to Bo, and so he will be judged accordingly. Is if fare? Maybe not. I dunno. But its reality. Its why we say He's not Bo. Bo set a standard, showed us all how a Michigan Man (yes I dispise the phrase too) must act. Look at Kobe. He is/was as close to perfection as you could find on a basketball court, yet he was always not-quite-Jordan. Jordan set the standard for a basketball player's ability, competitiveness, marketability, drive...Kobe was not quite Jordan. If Kobe existed in a Jordanless world, well, he would be Jordan.

Happens every time. Predictable as snow in the UP. When a team loses a game, its fan base finds one bad play to obsess about. Its like a disgruntled fan base needs some common ground to apply a laser focus. Sure, most likely there were better plays to be had. But honestly, it was one play in a game we were solidely beaten. We didn't deserve to win that game. Their players were dirty, their fans are as mature as 1st graders, their coach a prick, but they beat us in every facet of the game. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching, all of it. Can we just drop this one play call cost us the game bs? |

I watched wmu a lot last yr, even attended the homecoming game. I like wmu in general, but don't have much positive to say about their coaching. imo, just bad. Carder has some physical gifts, and serously seems taller than 6'2'', but he just doesn't make the throws when he needs to. Throw in the playcalling, and you have a recipe for barely a challenge in the opening game. Hiller was a gun slinger as some have mentioned, and had a lot more tools at WR, yet the coaches never could figure out how to use him in the way say Dan LeFevour at central. You watch the Broncos and you see them do some things that work, and then they just abandon it. Its just sad. |

| 1 year 40 weeks ago | RUN TMC! I grew up a G State |
RUN TMC! I grew up a G State Warriors fan, so maybe my opinion is a bit slanted. To me the HOF is about what a particular player did for the game, more so than pure statistics. Mully did a lot for the game. He brought in a different group of fans. I am sure some of it had to do with his color, same thing goes with the Williams sisters in tennis. Mullin was a NY and college legend before the NBA (Bill Walton is considered one of the greatest ever, and he didn't do much spectacular in the NBA), and one of the biggest stars on an otherwise crappy Golden State Warriors franchise. Two time gold medalist. One of the great shooters. The HOF likes to spread the love around too, and i think it helps he came from a team that isn't well represented in the hall. There is a lilttle politics in everything. And for Rodman, thank god they overlooked the off court and stupid stuff he did, he was a for sure hall of famer, per inch greatest rebounder ever. Crazy defender who could guard almost any position. Shut down some of the great PFs of all time, held his own guarding centers. |

| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Trade Dress |
As others have said, its not patent law specifically. It would technically be an intellectual property called "Trade Dress", part of the Lanham Act which also govenrs trademark law. To officially register it though, you would go through the Patent and Trademark Office, PTO, so that may be where the confusion originates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_dress Years back I participated in securing trade dress protection for a company I was working for. We secured our color combination in a specific industry. Trade dress usually applies to aestheic properties of something that stand for your brand, but not as outright obvious like a symbol or logo. You can trade dress your colors, the shape of your product (I believe VW tried to get trade dress protection for the shape of the Beetle), and Harley Davidson even tried to get trade dress protection for the sound its bikes make (they failed if I remember right). Its a segment of intellectual property that is often underused in business. A good way to protect whats yours, and protect your differientiation.

| 1 year 45 weeks ago | I generally like DB and think |
I generally like DB and think he is good for UM football, and the school in general. But he really scares me when he starts talking about branding and the Michigan brand, especially in the context of updating/innovating the brand. Branding is about positioning, your position within your market & in your customers mind. DB's experience at Dominoes was not with a brand like Michigan. Michigan is timeless, its tradition. To go all Al Reis and Jack Trout, we have the leadership positioning. Michigan a Mercedes, Dominoes was/is a Ford. (I reserved Bently and those for the Ivy leagues). Ford is respectable, but you do not brand or market them the same way as Mercedes. The brand itself doesn't need to be updated, you don't need to innovate the Michigan brand into the new century. You don't need gimicks and flash. Leave that to Oregon (Scion anyone? Kia?). Show me a Mercedes commercial with giant rats driving... I guess I am saying, if he's talking about innovating or updating the brand itself, I am against it. If he is simply talking about innovation in communicating the brand, WITHIN the context of what the brand already is, then I am for it. This is why I was/am for B10 network, for respectible alternate/throwback jerseys, stadium updates, but against something like a mascot. IMHO, its not the Michigan brand, against our tradition. Its simply a me-to tactic, a copy cat move... and leaders don't do me-to. If DB wants to stay true to our brand, our position within the market, its clear NO MASCOT. Hoke is proving that he can sell Michigan just fine based on its traditional brand. I doubt he gives a stadium tour and talks about the awesome RAWK music on game days (and I am for RAWK music in moderation). I am sure DB knows this, I am sure he gets it more than I do, but it still worries me. A hammer sees only nails, and I worry a lifelong innovator who innovated completley different brands in completely different positions in their market will instinctually innovate in the ways he is accustumed to. And we will get glowing yellow jerseys once a year, commercials not talking about our astronauts but our RAWK, and JOJO the mascot patroling our tailgates and games. |

Or is it bad news? I see it as evidence the NCAA isn't exactly looking for new violations, just what other ppl have already established. So the NCAA already sent its professional team to Columbus, its top notch investigators... but it takes an SI article written after 6 days of mostly phone interviews to tip them off to new information? Now the NCAA has to go back to look into the SI stuff, shouldn't they have been able to figure that out? Shouldn't they have found it when they were there? It wasn't exactly ground breaking, it was more or less an expansion of what we already knew. The NCAA had their ppl on the ground, supposedly digging deep. I think the NCAA investigates what they have to, what the media has already exposed. They won't uncover anything new, there will be no revelations with the NCAA investigation. The NCAA does not want to know how deep this goes, unless someone in the media goes in and essentially forces them to. The violations clearly warrant more, I just don't think OSU will get the hammer like USC did. |

When we asked the friend's dad why he didn't get a ticket, he said b/c he's a cop, and cops don't give cops tickets. Asked how the other cop knew he was a cop, he explained that they put something in the rear window of their civilian cars to let the cop who pulled them over know whats up. In his rear window sat a police hat. Since that day, a number of times I have seen a law enforcement sticker or hat in the driver rear window of civilian cars in that area, guess its still their 'secret code'. | 2 years 38 weeks ago | Ire flows high on Mondays. I |
Ire flows high on Mondays. I get what you're saying, I just don't think its clear cut like that. If a back is that much better, his talent would show. I don't think on any given day, being hot gives you 5 more yards a carry than not being hot. And if you are taking your sample from just a few touches, too much else comes into play. Could it be obivous at times? Possibly. IMO, doesn't provide as much benefit to having THE guy into a rythme and flow. If rotating backs, for the sake of finding the the "hot" back, actually provided a +3 (in your most recent comment, +5-12 in your first) MORE yards per carry, wouldn't more teams do it? That's a pretty huge difference. And if this is the case, as you said, rotating the backs would pretty much stop after the 1st quarter (or even first drive), because you would have found your back that gets 4 more yards per carry. Yet...magnus...it doesn't does it. Regardless, have a good one, excuse the ire, my allotted time surfin has expired back to real life |
| 2 years 38 weeks ago | No other factors come into |
No other factors come into how many yards a player gets on a run, than whether or not that back is 'hot'. So its pretty clear by 3 touches per back who is the 'hot' back and who is not. Are you letting your little brother play with your account today or something? |

Right Magnus, b/c thats what generally happens. Yeh I unfortunately have to disagree as well. I still love the Rod, but my biggest disappointment was this... my biggest gripe with Llyod, was that he was stuck in his ways and couldn't tailor to match his talent. We brought in RR, and it seems we have the same thing. Just different 'ways' he is stuck on. His first year it was pretty obvious, tried to force a system on talent that wasn't built for it and wasn't able to pull it off. Last year slightly better, but only because the talent inched closer to his system's needs. |

| 3 years 4 weeks ago | I love it. Especially around |
I love it. Especially around midfield when you don't need a huge punt, and the fans all want them to go for it on 4th down anyway. For as many times as Tate might not "pin" them within the 10, they will get four times as many crappy returns because they were forced to stay in a nickel or punt safe. I wonder what damage Tate could do in a traditional punt formation, and how many times he could roll out and hit a TE doing a 5 and out? Not open, try the running punt we saw so much a couple yrs ago. Tate may not be the fastest, but he is illusive as hell, and I would feel pretty good he could avoid most of the pressure that might get to him |

You're absolutely right. I will refrain from using metaphors and analogies from now on. The conversation then just erodes in an argument on the validity of the metaphor and not the original topic. Course, and don't answer this, is a football game an endurance race? Sure endurance is important. But, and at a different time and place, I think the argument can be made that a football game is made up of a bunch of sprints...not one lone endurance race. Especially in RR's offense. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | What??? Conference first, |
What??? Conference first, always. Go back and read you bible, of Bo Schembechler. Every year your first and main goal is win your conference. Ugh, again, not DR in any way position specific. AND, you SEROUSLY think he is a serviceable QUARTERBACK??? Holy good god man. Better than Gardner, yeh maaaybe. Maybe. Regardless we lose with either of them. Its good to know you are proud of a 5 win season. Losing to Mich St and OSU is ok? Shit man. You are the same guy who wanted Carr out because he could only get us a 8-9 win season, and now you are ok with 5 because it currently fits your internet argument. Is football only about risk reward? I know plenty of traders, and few FEW do risk reward analysis themselves. Their firm does it for them. Maybe you are a basement trader, and if so I really don't need you to profuse your risk reward expertise to me. My position is a bit different, but only a bit. I am a marketing analyst, the point of my existence within this corporation is to maximize output. You want to get to the goal in baby steps, I want to sprint. I promise you, in athletics, the sprinter wins. Seriously, I am surprised you didn't tell me your dad can beat up my dad. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | Again, not specifying any |
Again, not specifying any position. But you seem hell bent on internet fighting. So here, I like RR. I support him. But coaches are very risk adverse. They make decisions all the time factored on not losing (see: Llyod Carr). Are you going to tell me because RR (I checked, not god, actually less god than Carr at this point) can't make wrong decisions? If he and his decisions are infallible, then what is the point of even having a community like this if every comment can only consist of GO BLUE or HAIL! So Carcajous.. GO BLUE! |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | Well Mr Risk Analyzer, what |
Well Mr Risk Analyzer, what was our record in the B10 last year? You are clearly not doing your job, what risk is there? Losing? You mean losing MORE than all but 1 conference game??? Seriously?? I would not hire you. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | Thats cool, and I wasn't |
Thats cool, and I wasn't specifying receiver. We all agree he needs the ball more, BUT in a position to make a play. IMO, at qb, hes not in a position to make a play. He can't throw, and its ok guys, not everyone can play qb at a high level we can admit our super fast qb recruit can't throw. So when DR was in at qb, everyone and their moms (who are generally not football fans) knew what was coming. Its not about getting DR the ball. Sure line him up for a series every quarter at qb then. Its about getting him the ball in a position to make plays. Why not kick returns? Because he might get injured? Seriously? Thats playing football to not lose, not to win. Difference in philosophy i guess. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | hah, dude i got your |
hah, dude i got your metaphor, I've read Soar With Your Strengths, I get it. Its not just about DR and HIS grades, its about the entire team. Maximizing the overall talent you can put on the field. I'd still like someone to explain how having a top 3 play maker on the bench maximizes our talent on the field, which gives us the best chance to win. Its really that simple. The entire structure of your argument is that if, IF, Forcier gets injured, then we need DR because he is substantially better than Gardner would be. I don't agree. DR or Gardner at qb means a loss. I don't care if its by 3 (DR) or 33 (Gardner). We're not winning, why wouldn't we want to play the team that gives us the best chance of winning. That entire journey you just took with your school metaphor is constructed around something that hasn't and might not occur. If it does, we're screwed regardless. Don't be so risk adverse. Don't be afraid to reach for excellence (cue inspirational music) |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | 1. The point is getting your |
1. The point is getting your best talent on the field in position to make plays. I wasn't trying to pick a specific position. Any. If he is indeed one of our best play makers, what the hell is he doing on the bench 95% of the game. 2. So Michigan football is all about "competent". Or is it about excellence? I'll shoot for excellence, even if falling short means total failure, over 'competent' anyday. Competent is for the weak. I thought that was the reason for bringing in RR in the first place. 3. I agree for the most part. Again, its about getting play makers on the field in a position to make plays. Isn't that what RR's offense is all about? Then lets see it. AND, like DR is even 'ok' at qb, he was terrible. Like I said, if Forcier goes down we are done. With or without DR as a full time backup. You since statement was totally non-logical to me, maybe it sounded good when you typed it but I am not feeling the RR/student/exam metaphor. Your talking about one student taking one exam. What if you have 6 exams and 20 kids to decide who takes which exam. Wouldn't you pull the best student in each exam subject and have them take that exam? To continue your metaphor, our coach has our best history student, DR, backing up the kid who is going to take the Chem exam... |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | Can someone please explain to |
Can someone please explain to me, and talk slowly, why we cannot use DR in other areas of the offense? I get it, if Forcier goes down we need him at QB or we lose. Well, we lost anyway. So whats the difference? Don't we need the play making ability more to avoid losses than the possibility of an injury? And this yr, whats to stop DR from having a dual role. 2nd string QB, but starts at a receiver spot or some type of offensive back. We need him on the field. Am I wrong or is he perfect to return punts and or kickoffs? If Forcier goes down, we lose. Its that simple. DG is not acceptable at qb. So we might as well pull Gardner out of red shirt at that point, if it comes to it. I like and support RR, my biggest BIGGEST question is his ability to utilize his talent. I just don't see it. I see him much like Carr, cept with the opposite offense. He has his scheme, and tries to fit the players into it. Doesn't seem to be able to adjust for the talent he has today. Or I am wrong. |

I should follow it up with, no matter the animal, giraffe or lion, the interviewer would have added something along the lines of "A lion huh? Most of our successfully hires for this position describe themselves as giraffes, being able to see far down the safari which demonstrates strategic thinking".. or whatever. The point is integrity, the interviewer wants to see if you flinch, if you stick with your answer or change to what you now think the "right" answer is. The point is, be calm, be yourself. Don't try and impress, especially if they throw some dumb ass question at you. Know your strengths, highlight them. Enjoy it. Don't worry if interview #1 or 1-7 don't work out. In this market, there are 5,000 applications for every job. Not getting the job is about fit, not so much about you personally. They just thought someone else was a better fit, skills or personality or whatever, not necessarily better or smarter. Heck, the ppl i know that do the hiring in most of the companies I have worked at don't know how to hire in the first place. So don't take rejection personally. Stay motivated. |

I was once asked if I were an animal on the african safaria, which would I be. It was then followed up by asking if the qualities of a giraffe or lion match me better and why. I have also been asked a number of puzzle questions. Like, you have 7 balls that look exactly the same. Same color same size. 1 ball has a greater mass than the other 6. The other 6 are all equal. You have only a balance scale, and can use it 2 times. How do you find the ball with the greater mass. |

I generally don't neg the hell outta ppl who post for the sake of creating an uproar. But I did neg everyone of your posts after reading THIS, your MGOBOARD post from a couple days ago: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-sure-mens-dress-shoies >> OT For Sure: Men's Dress Shoies Guys, this is as serious an MGoTopicOffTopic as has ever been brought up. I am a serious, and I MEAN SERIOUS clothes horse. I love shopping for clothes. Love it. Can't get enough of it. And sometimes, I get to buy some instead of trying them on and runing out of the department store real fast, hoping the security guards are at lunch or something. Hell, I'll kill the bastard before I give up a hot pair of stolen shoes. And that brings me to this topic: Men's dress shoes. For years, I've been into the Johnston & Murphy line. Holy hell--you put on a pair of leather J&M's and you wouldn't care if your wife ran off to Bermuda with the plumber and left you with nothing BUT the J&M's. I finally bought two pair this year, and I can't go anywhere while wearing them without some hot chick noticing I have a boner. I ain't lyin' when I tell her, "It's not YOU, honey, it's the Johnston & Murphy's. Fuck off and buy me a drink." I think it's the confidence in me that she notices--and it impresses her. She never buys me the drink, though, but she sure fucks off! Anyway, I found two new lines today that are about as sexually arousing as my J&M's: Clark, and Echo. Tried them on, walked around, and plunked down a hundy for the Clark's. So far, I'm satisfied. I've had them on for three hours while wearing nothing else, and they look and feel great! I figure I can come here and ask for any other shoe lines in the same price range (on sale, J&M's and Clark's are about a hundy a pair at a department store in Omaha). This would be a good thread and a good day to discuss shoes. I know you're out there. We're Michigan Men. We may sit and watch TV with one hand stuffed in our pants, but DAMMIT do we look good while doing it!<< Holy bejesus man. You are a straight up girl. A few on this board have called u a homosexual or something along those lines. I hope its true, I have no problem with that and it would explain the above post. But no, NO straight man talks like this. To be a straight man and talk like this is a sin against nature. |

I never went to an OSU/UM game at the shoe, but I did date a girl who attended OSU for a year. I walked with her (wearing my Mich shirt of course) during her orientation. This was early or mid summer, but the pride of OSU was on campus. While I never endured the common "f michigan", I was told many times that I was stupid. Remember, this was summer. Middle of the day. Everyone was sober (well, this was OH-IO so maybe not). I had was my Mich shirt on, she had her OSU shirt. I thought we looked like the espn commercial, and since there was no impending game I thought it was all in good fun. I imagined I was going to get some looks, or some minor ribbing. I remember one grad student aged kid walked by without making eye contact muttered "hope you get your ass kicked". The worst, however, was the older man (I have no idea if he was a professor, another student's dad, janitor, or truck driver strolling the campus), probably in his 40s or early 50s, came right up to me and with a scowl said "you should be shot in the head and killed". In all seriousness, in all hate, and walked away. I should be killed execution style. I didn't respond, I couldn't really. It was a true wtf moment. The very next day I snuck (or sneaked for u grammar nazis) into the shoe, and relieved myself on their field. They wanted to be #1 that year, so I gave them #1. I have a picture of it even, best pic of my life. |

bad weather does act as an equalizer, as far as a teams strengths. i do think it exploits a teams weaknesses, however. I think our speed advantage will be less of an advantage because of the weather. so many of these games come down to who screws up the least, and the resulting big plays or field position from said screwups. |
| 3 years 33 weeks ago | Good to know |
I had no idea the weather forecast, I was just going off what other comments implied. Lets hope the winds and mist mess up their passing more than our shot gun snapping =) GO BLUE |
| 3 years 33 weeks ago | $.02 |
Crappy weather turns games into a battle for field position. If the weather is especially bad, u have to think that hurts us both. Their pass attack will be mitigated, and our runners will be less likely to get around the corner and get to the outside make cuts, etc. Teams that can play 3 yds and a puddle of mud generally do well in horrible weather. You all remember OSU at the big house in 2007? I was there, cold and wet. OSU had just 13 pass attempts the entire game to Mich 30 something attempts. They just kept bashing up the middle, and played field position. And won. If the weather is really bad, its who can make the fewest crucial mistakes, and who can win the field position game. I really dunno who that favors. |
| 3 years 34 weeks ago | whoa flawed |
I am no fan of 3 man rushes, but in a hail mary situation they are a must. Your argument FAILs miserably on your first bullet, and goes down hill after that. A QB will pick you apart if you give them time. Agreed. A hail mary is not a "pick you apart" situation. It is a throw it as far as u can and pray (hence the name). You are thinking much more of say a final drive, where a team drops back into a prevent and the QB goes down the field with 10-15 yd passes. That, I agree with you on. I hate the prevent, and for some reason Michigan's historically bad prevent. I believe in pressure during those circumstances. But we are talking massive differences between that and a hail mary. Your math on #2 is beyond flawed. Others have ripped it apart I prolly shouldn't. Just matching up a man vs a man and determining that x more man means x% more effectiveness is nuts. Against a 5-6 man front, how more often does a 4 man rush get at the QB than a 3 man? That's more of a metric. But still not complete. Next, I would say a hail mary doesn't take a lot of time. There's not a play developing, there's no break down, no need to create, no need to read defenses..its 5-7 step drop, 2 steps up throw it as far as you can. Every time. Same over and over and over. Its a high throw, your not going to bat it down. Literally, you have to sack or apply enough pressure to make the qb do something other than drop back, step up and throw. Not happening. I will take 2 or 4 more hands in the end zone. A hail mary is one of the most predictable, shoot I would say THE most, predictable throws as far as how much time it takes to get off. Coaches aren't dumb, some, but not every single one of them. If they thought by adding 1 more guy on the line they could get at said QB in the amount of time it takes, they would. They clearly don't think its even close, or more would try. Whats the % of a blocked punt? Yet defenses try that any number of times a game. Its dumb, it just takes one more person away from the secondary. You also have to think about which hands are being taken away. Usually, its a taller receiver or special teams player, who can physically match up against the offenses receivers better. The normal secondary is back there cause they have the experience in the position, and the extras are the taller good hands guys. If you simply do a normal front, and drop your normal secondary, its a bunch of 5'10'' DBs going for a jump ball against 6'2'' receivers. You are kind of using the logic that you see the sun come up in the east, and set in the west. It must revolve around the earth! Without taking other factors into play or thinking your argument through. Eh, good attempt. |
| 3 years 36 weeks ago | Optimism Flies High |
We have a young team... there are going to be stumbles. You have to figure we lose 1 (at least), 2 (probable) or 3 (lets hope not) that our talent and system say we should win, simply due to inexperience and youthful miscues. I actually don't like the way out schedule lines up the rest of the way. We have home field advantage with 2 teams that it may not matter. Penn St and OSU may just be too strong for us regardless. Its wasted on games we may not have a chance at. Then the second tier of the big 10 that we play, Ill-MSU-Iowa and for fun lets throw in Wisconsin, we play away. Those are games we could win/lose and could really use the home field advantage. We play the lowest tier of the B10 at home. Purdue and Indiana. Those are games we should win regardless of where we play. So, IMO, the 4 games we need home field the most we don't have it. 2 games we should win regardless, we have it. 2 games we should lose regardless, we have it. It'd take our B10 schedule the rest of the way flipped any day. That would give us the best shot at 6-2 in the B10. 6-2 in the B10 probably means we are looking at a 10-2 season since we got past ND. Not too shabby. But with the schedule as it is, we could easily be looking at a .500 or sub .500 B10 record. OSU/PSU losses, only takes one slip up at any of the following away games: Mich St, Iowa, Wisc, Ill... Though it will be nice having a shot at PSU and OSU at home =) Anyway, its late, i ramble, GO BLUE! |
