I run Michelin LTX on my 2015 Superduty in summer as they are very quiet and I don’t really off-road.  In winter it’s Nokian Hakkapellittas with studs.

I run Toyo Open Country AT3 on my 80 Series Landcruiser and love them in the summer. I find they slip around quite a bit in winter.

I live in Big Sky, MT

My solution for our travel…

My solution for our travel trailer was to purchase Starlink with roaming to replace my local provider.  I then purchased a separate cable that goes from the Dishy to the router.  This enables easy connect/disconnect.  When we go camping I simply grab the dish and router and put them in a bin to bring along.

For power, I got an EcoFlow “solar” generator.  Basically a lithium phosphate multi use battery pack.  It has solar charging capability along with cigarette charger and plug in.

A key point of this is being a full resident account means we don’t get throttled when traveling.  YMMV

Here in the mountains of Montana, the Nokian  Hakkapeliitta is the go to tire.  I don’t think you could convince me to to try anything else.   YMMV

Big Sky, Montana

Pros: ski town, blue ribbon trout rivers, Yellowstone NP, amazing summers, wonderful locals.

Cons: long winters, high housing costs, nearest real shopping an hour away

2 FZJ80 Landcruisers…

2 FZJ80 Landcruisers. Because Montana

Did it I did this five years ago. Could have gone wherever we wanted. Chose Big Sky, Montana. Probably the best decision I’ve made in my life. Ski town that’s full of people that actually want to live here. Less than an hour from YNP. Summers are to die for.
Ford SuperDuty F 350 No more chugging over mountain passes while pulling the camper. Can’t believe how plush pickups have become in the past 15 years.
Landcruiser I've got a couple of FZJ 80 Landcruisers ('95 & '97). Great rigs and perfect for here in Montana.

New Years Eve

Returning home from the Orange Bowl.  Should pull in to the house just in time to see the ball drop.

Right here in Big Sky.  Ski

Right here in Big Sky.  Ski hill opens tomorrow, so locals all come out and catch up.  Not much snow yet, but expecting 6-10 between now and then.  Oh, and we have a group of families that get together for Thanksgiving dinner after.  I'm in charge of the fried bird.

Go Big Horns

Transition year here in Big Sky for the Lone Peak Big Horns.  Recent population jump has caused a jump from 6 to 8 man football.  Depth is, well, there is no depth.  Only 16 dressing to play this year.

On the plus side, we parents will be able to save a few miles on our cars as class change means less gameday travel.  Last year we logged about 2400 miles to watch our kids play.

New Era 59Fifty

The key to getting the 59Fifty "just right" is to get the hat thoroughly wet and then wear it until it dries.  The wool will shrink to fit your noggin.  Disclaimer:YMMV :)

Snow? 50 degrees here in Big Sky
Ski I am fortunate to live in Big Sky, Montana around 4 miles from the hill. Every weekend in between Thanksgiving andEaster is a ski weekend!
Kona blend Black, then off to the slopes
Montana

I agree with this.  After being here in Big Sky a year now, I find the people in this area love being here.  It's been put to me that the environment here is extreme.  If you don't love it, you sure as hell aren't going to put up with it the majority of the year.

Sleeveless?

Brady would for sure be sleeveless here in Big Sky, MT today.  A balmy 24 with lots of sun.  All of you in "the vortex" keep that skin covered and take your time on the road.

Snake River Brewery Awesome! Thanks for the tip!
Game day Camping on Jenny Lake this weekend. So, rolling into the first sports bar I see in Jackson Hole! GO BLUE!

Are you from Florida by chance?  I've been in the seafood business 20 years and I think the only people who've met that share this opinion are from Florida.

Unless you're talking about cold water spinys, of course!  But who can afford them any more.

Ohio

I can attest to this, as to my wifes horror, I wear mine whenever I fly.

Monsters Uni

My 13 year old broke his collarbone Tuesday.  Sooo camping has turned to various indoor activities.  Should still find time for a round of golf, though.

Oh, and plenty of Salmon Fly Honey Ryes!

Big Sky

We just moved to Big Sky, Montana in March.  I don't see myself roaming to far from here.  Just a beautiful area.  Only 50 miles from West entrance to Yellowstone Park.

Ask me this question again after spending a winter here!

Classics

The 1989 Pontiac Trans Am Indy Pace Car packed the Grand National Turbo V6.  This and the 1992 Corvette ZR1 are really the only memorable American cars I can think of from this era.
