I’m a fan of both and make this comparison all the time. Great tradition, rivalry considered (by some) best in the sport, recent struggles paired with new arrivals that give everyone hope. Unfortunately I’ve been burned for so many years by the results of the OSU games that I’m trying to keep my expectations in check. They’ve got the firepower to keep up with Madrid, just have to stay organized in the middle and at the back.
If you can stretch it through New Years, I strongly suggest chartering a sailboat in the BVI’s. New Years Eve at Foxy’s on Jost Van Dyke was one of the best times I’ve ever had.
Paths of Glory is my "favorite" war movie, but that's only because it always leaves the most emotional impact on me when it's over. I get angrier and angrier to think there truly do exist people like that who "are just in charge".

Cracked a Dogfish Head 120 from the collection last night to usher in the season. Now a St Bernardus 8 in, before switching to Speedway Stout. I'm all about efficiency.
I had huge hopes for this movie and turned it off 45 min in. It's like it couldn't decide what kind of film it wanted to be. Similar to Silver Linings Playbook. Had its moments, but mediocre and drawn out.
I remember before NCAA we used to play Gamebreaker on PS1. Ron Dayne was a beast. And before that Genesis had College Football's National Championship. They had a play, "TE Pop" that would work almost every time. It also had a glitch that allowed you to run the entire perimeter of the field for an entire quarter until you finally decided to allow your never-tiring player to cross the goal line. What better did a 10 year old have to do?
My college roommate and I had bought two bottles of Jim Beam for the game (don't judge). By the fourth quarter, we were one bottle in and decided if we weren't going to win, we were at least going to obliterate any memory of it. As we started doing shots of bottle 2, Braylon heated up, and we finished the bottle right as Michigan finished the victory. To this day I believe that we drank that team to victory. So for that, you're welcome.
My college roommate is returning for today's game, and while we certainly can't hang like that anymore, we'll be doing our damnedest to encourage a Funchessfest.
Being from central PA, I've only ever gotten to experience 2 games at the Big House, and they couldn't have been more different.
The first was the 2005 PSU game. As a college graduation present, my uncle and aunt (both psu alums) took me on their alumni group's annual "1 away game". That year it was fortunate enough to be at Michigan, and I got to witness Henne to Manningham from the end zone directly in front of me. I'll never forget the throng of PSU fans I was surrounded by literally deflating, while I alone celebrated like a madman.
My only other game there was the 2008 Fan Endurance Game. Some fellow Mich friends and I borrowed a 1991 Winny and drove through the night to see it. We walked into the stadium right as Stevie Brown picked one off. We thought it would be a great day. 3 hours and inches of freezing precipitation later, we watched the final Sheridan pass sail out of the end zone.
Have a sixtel of Southern Tier Mokah in the kegerator and am enjoying it along with some FIFA. Now just praying for a Man City loss coupled with a Liverpool win Sunday. The only team in red I support. YNWA !!
I've never been so melancholy following a loss, especially to Ohio. When they scored before the half, I thought we were done. When the were up 14, I thought we were done. Just considering the fact that we had that kind of chance, and Hoke had the balls to go for it fills me with pride as a fan.
In PA, picked up a case of my favorite beer in the world last night to help embrace the Michigan connection. By the end of the game the tears were flowing almost as fast as the hippy nectar. Go Blue!!!!!!
what is the time period for when this plays out? i'm not around the ps3 and won't be until tomorrow, so if this is happening tonight i'll have to bow out of my illinois pick. if not, i'm still good.
I just finished Ender's Game for the 2nd time, 1st time being 1997. Which is fitting seeing the correlation between the successful seasons. I promise to now read it every year, in which case we will see a string of seasons the likes of which haven't been seen since Kim Jong Il's first and last round of golf.
