Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic

You should contact the Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic at the Law School to see if they can take on your case. It'd be free for you and I'm sure some of your classmates in the law school would love to help stop this nonsense. As previously noted, your case is a slam dunk, so you should take all of their profits and something for emotional distress and give it to Mott.

Sorry if someone already raised this question,

But how will this affect the band's traditional post game performance? Is it going to be before, during, after? Replacing the performance.

Really dude?

You're the one who continues to beat a dead horse about whether or not Dave Brandon is the ONLY AD who watches film rather than just accepting that he does watch film and that's probably not an attractive thing to a coaching candidate. Argue a point that matters.

That's true

But I don't care about the AD making money. As long as they aren't a financial burden to the University that's all that matter financially in my mind.

Attitudes of Bama and Georgia administration

While the article did not provide all the information, it did seem that Georgia and Alabama were much more concerned about student attendance in terms of what the students want. Here, the majority of Dave Brandon's strategies have wanted to force the students to show up. For instance, sarcastic emails about our attendance and then the general admission move. It doesn't appear that his perspective was ever about what the department can do to better serve what the students want out of their football game experience. Whether or not the students deserve that kind of treatment is probably another discussion, but he is buying more ill will than loyalty.

Seven years of tuition?!

You really struggled to get that B.A!

From someone who lives on Hoover past the IMSB,

yes, it is a 13 hour day. Thirteen MERCILESS hours of the band, specifically the drum line, playing.

Love the band and their committment, but need some advil.

Yes.

This is quite the sound argument you're putting forth.

/s

The whole back in my day

line is bull shit, too.  Because back in their day, it was much easier to sneak booze into the stadium plus you could leave at half, go to the liqour store across the street (it's now a wireless toyz) then re-enter the stadium.  They got to the game on time, because they didn't have to do all the drinking before hand.

Simple fact of the matter

is that the students were fine with the old policy. The people who cared the most about studnet behavior seemed to be those who had limited access to tickets and didn't like to see the students come late because they wish they were at the game. This is an understandable viewpoint but also a negligable one because hey, you don't go here, you didn't go here, etc. The great majority of students got the fun of partying from the break of dawn until game time and still made it for toe to meet leather. Now, they don't, and that sucks.

Having gone to the Cowboys

Having gone to the Cowboys Classic, I really didn't like the gameday expereince.  There are very few bars within walking distance of the stadium and those that are are Buffalo Wild Wings-type places in strip malls. Also I thought the screen was bothersome and made watching the play on the field difficult.  That being said, it probably didn't help that we got our teeth kicked in.

Bare foot

Is anyone else seeing that the South Carolina punter punts with his bare foot?  Positively absurd.

Your conclusion

is based on the assumption that, "Dave Brandon is an AD who understands that his role is to make the university money" But that's the problem.  His job is not to make the university money.  The university should not be making a concerted effort to make money.  Its mission is to educate.  Athletic opportunities fit well within that mission.  Money is obviously necessary to sustain such opportunities, but profit is not. One could counter that athletic department profits, even when compromising tradition (which is important to a university's identity and reputation), are good because they are put back into the university to benefit all students.  However, when our Athletic Director makes more than our President, I question if that is truly the case. Putting the dollar in front of tradition is unnecessary and disheartening.

Lot of substance here

You've made some really strong arguments whilst sarcasting repeating what I've said.

Equating yourself as better than the people for whom the games are played is appaling.

EDIT: I'm an idiot, never mind.  Will be working on my spelling for the rest of the day

Dude

We're not late because we're hungover, we're late because we're drunk.

In general, I am sick of this talk of of shrinking the student section for "real fans."  I do not care if you equate yourself a better fan than the drunkest, most disinterested, latest Michigan student.  These games are ours.  This is our school.  While the support of non-students and non-alums is clearly important and appreciated, it should not and cannot outweigh the interests of the students.  Yes, we (that is, the student body as a whole) needs to get better at getting there at time. The attendance at kick is certianly a problem.  But to say that others should have priority over us to purchase tickets is appauling.

This probably won't end well

RIch Rod era had an effect on the student body.  Half of us had at least one year of Rich Rod, and at those pregames the marginal benefit of seeing the kick for a game we would probably lose was much lower than that of one more drink.  Not factoring in that one more drink would help to erase the memory of deplorable secondary.  Obviously, that doesn't excuse what's going on now or even then, but when your pregame attitude of freshmen and sophomore year is that the kickoff is less important than the preparty because of the quality of the product being put forth, then those things may be perservere through many years.

Maryland Rivals Premium says

Maryland Rivals Premium says Rich interviewed over the phone today for the job

My apologies for posting what

My apologies for posting what I thought was a widely accepted opinion.  I'll try to post with more naivety in the future.

I disagree

It is not whether or not Harbaugh has the opportunity to come here, it is whether he wants to forgo any future NFL coaching plans to make a long-term commitment to us.  If he makes such commitment, Rich is gone.

Also,

the current freshman class is the largest ever and much larger than expected.  This caused major issues with housing with some freshmen ending up in Northwood apartments truly a horrendous fate (coming from previous a Baits I resident).  So, more deferments could happen to try and control the size of the class of 2015.

Seal

I liked the hockey jerseys a lot better when the shoulder patches were the university seal rather than the block M and the hockey sticks.  I feel our University's seal is very underused for marketing purposes - academic and athletic.

Adidas owns Reebok

Adidas owns Reebok

edit:  This still doesn't explain why the jerseys come from Reebok and not directly from Adidas but makes the situation more logical if you didn't know that

Ah fair enough, I probably

Ah fair enough, I probably shouldn't have included that one since I didn't really watch it.  I was at my freshman year homecoming dance (needless to say the evening was ruined), huddled around a kid who had an ESPN mobile trying to figure what was going on

No.

The 2005 team was a) essentially 7-4 because it was utterly jobbed in the Alamo Bowl and b) a team that played down to its opponents, losing close games it should not have - Minnesota and Wisconsin  - while the 2010 has gotten absolutely train-wrecked by good Big Ten teams.

defense and turnover margin

defense and turnover margin are like 75% of the game...

Great post, though

I think you may be giving this team too much credit compared Carr's 7-5 squad.  I count that team as 7-4 after getting completely and utterly jobbed by the refs in the Alamo Bowl.  Further, that team was much better than this one as it lost close games to teams it shouldn't have lost to - Minnesota - while this team has one win against a 1-AA opponent and gets absolutely train-wrecked by every team with a >.500 record in conference.

Yes, the alma mater factor is

Yes, the alma mater factor is the difference.

The Free Press will not

The Free Press will not drudge up shit about Harbaugh because Rosenberg and Sharp hate Rich Rodriguez. They hate his folksiness and that he is not a Michigan Man.  They will love Harbaugh.

You're right on the second

You're right on the second point, I didn't recall those details, so I'm sorry about that, I was wrong. But on the earlier parts, those points are in there, I'd look up specifics but the book is at my place in A2.

There are multiple issues with this comment

First, Henne was hurt for the 07 OSU game. Second, it took no guts to kick Cissoko off the team, the kid had a coke problem. Last, and I say this not as indictment against RR but simply as a statement of fact, if you think Bo's Lasting Lessons was nothing but a book saying why RR should coach Michigan, then you missed the chapters where Bo talks of how you shouldn't hire the guy who would bolt from his alma mater, how you should hire from within and where Bo goes to a coaching conference featuring an innovative offense and ends up walking out when the coach proclaims that the scheme was great but the teams record wasn't so great due to lack of execution.

Perfect! thank you very much,

I was told that the players

I was told that the players don't like them and prefer the old adidas jerseys, otherwise, we would have already been wearing them.

Edit:  Also, Notre Dame has been wearing them since it was on Uniwatch, they have them for their home and road jerseys, too.

the defensive recruits are

the defensive recruits are next? Shouldn't they be a top priority? Also, it's not that 3 of our 4 losses are to top-10 teams, it's that we came out so god damn flat in all of those games.  They were the biggest games of the seasons and we didn't look ready to play, we didn't look fired up.

Thanks a lot guys, see ya

Thanks a lot guys, see ya tonight!

I disagree.  While anyone who

I disagree.  While anyone who says Rich Rod flew in the face of controversy due to anything but ignorance of the situation is clearly an ass hole, Rich Rod should've known about #1 and what to do with it.

Yeah! Maybe by 2012 we could

Yeah! Maybe by 2012 we could even go to the Capital One Bowl!

Who is to say a pro style

Why would he want to leave a

Why would he want to leave a program where he is seen as God?  Because Rich Rod did the exact same thing.

Please don't reference your Michigan degree a) because in most cases you only sound like a douche bag and b) especially when using such poor logic.

"There isn't a Michigan Man

"There isn't a Michigan Man who wouldn't like to go out and scalp those Buckeyes right now!"

His Legend grows..

I was reading this post at the end of one of my classes.  As soon as the class ends, I walk to the second floor of the UGLi, sit down, look two tables over and there was sitting right there.  He is everywhere.

Good call

I was talking to my dad about this and he had a similar feeling.  That splitting Michigan and OSU up is so absurd that that this is all AD doublespeak.  Then, we all get really angry, write a bunch of emails and when Michigan and Ohio State come out in the same division, he submitted to the will of the people while also putting it on us if it's the wrong decision.  I disagree with this, but it made me feel okay about this fiasco for about 40 seconds.

Also,

the shirt can be purchased in the mgostore

A scarlet and grey version would probably need to be in the works

Buckeye version

Any talks with Bucknuts or Underground printing in Columbus to make a scarlet and grey version?
