What are the specific metrics that prevent M from being in the top 15 or so? My guess is acceptance rate and endowment/spending per student. Has anyone here really dug into the USNWR formula?

Not a perfect match, but there's also Hidden Valley Club apartments which are near the south state street commuter lot. It's about 2 miles from there to central campus. The 36 bus, which generally runs every 10-15 mins, picks up at that lot and goes directly to central campus. They definitely have 1BR, not sure about studios. Also, they aren't very fancy.

Okay, so you hold the popular and ethical high ground, own the fricking pulpit, and your best strategy is to sue? This is like pulling the goalie when you are ahead.

He's also the teammate of future 4 or 5* Brian "Tugs" Bowen, a 6-7 wing in the c/o 2017. Bowen is a cousin of Jason Richardson, so he's also a presumed MSU lean, unfortunately.

Acceptance rates seem to have limited meaning re: desirability until you reach the elite schools. Last year, Central Michigan's acceptance rate was actually 6 percentage points lower than MSU's.

You've brought him up a number of times. Were there indications that he was ever a realistic option for Michigan? Or that he'll attend college in the U.S. at all? I don't follow bball recruiting too closely.

If I'm not mistaken, UM under Beilein has has as many early entrants to the NBA as Izzo has had in roughly 20 years at MSU. Izzo has made himself a legend by turning 3-stars and 5-stars into 4-stars.

Valentine/Payne/Costello corral a soul-crushing proportion of the games's available rebounds, giving MSU the extra possessions it needs to win.

In the nearly 20 years Izzo has been at MSU, he's had, I think, only 4 "true" early entrants: Richardson, Randolph, Taylor, and Brown. Beilein's had that many in the last four years.

I should have clarified. That's just the "minimum" qualification. Obviously you get the best candidate you can. The two elephants on campus are medicine and athletics. I'm curious if the new prez -- especially since he was at Berkeley -- favors putting a little financial distance between the medical enterprise and the rest of the U.

I took a class with the Dude last semester. He asked us to research and suggest some names for the next prez, and he said he'd pass along the good ones. Interested to see who came out on top.
