We should do what the Lions should be doing, throw to set up the run. If you dont have the line to run and gain yards when everyone knows you are going to run, throw the ball. They stack the box, throw the ball! If your quarterback and wide receivers are better than your line and running backs, throw the ball. Hit some throws for damage, watch the running game open.
In breaking news, the infograph says they are actually switching over to the football game before kickoff. I assume this is just for my local fox 66, but wish they would have done it like that last week.
Planning on watching a few minutes of sludgefart Iowa-msu. Fox has the baseball game beforehand again. Currently in the 7th, no way they start that game on time 2 weeks in a row. Who thought this scheduling was a good idea?
Ive debated this with some people at work as well. Im mostly against it, but if it is done, how is it done? Pay the better kids more than others? Pay football/basketball players more than soccer? Men vs women? Just curious if you have an opinion.
There are no snowstorms like Keweenaw snowstorms. Went to Tech for my 2nd degree. Everyone swears by snow tires up there. I had a 4wd Escape with regular tires, thought I'd be fine in anything. Nope.
Normally they run three 8 hour shifts up there for plowing in the winter. But a few times a year they realize they arent keeping up with the snowfall and just give up. It was one of only 2 times in the 3 years I went there they cancelled classes for the rest of the day. By 1 pm, from a previously cleared parking lot, I had to hand shovel a big enough hole to get my car door open. Got halfway up one of the big hills there and then stopped moving, all 4 wheels throwing snow. Had to reverse back down and then hit it again with a head of steam. By the next morning, could just make out the top of my Escape in the driveway.
I miss those winters, you get attached to them.
Not to mention that 10 lbs of muscle gained equates to a much greater ability to move weight. 10 lbs of muscle might mean he can squat another 100 lbs or bench another 50. Might mean the difference between going down to a linebacker's arm or being able to shuck a small corner.
Last win in the shoe: 2000. I was 16. I'm married,have a kid, and over 30. I'm beyond excited, but still too scared to be confident. Please let this be the year, followed by many more.
Its not that bad. My brother and I made our first trip down there for the '06 game. I wore my Michigan #1 jersey. All the abuse we received was verbal. No physical harm to body or car. I was 21, maybe I was naive and lucky? We walked all over by the stadium, again all abuse was just verbal. In a way I was disappointed.
Good to know more, sometimes I know just enough to be dangerous. Seemed for a while to be something being pushed just so people could feel good they are doing something, even if the comparables weren't logical with everything taken into account. Will be interesting to see where it goes. Hopefully we come up with better ideas than wind farms.
Question for those who know, I am a different kind of engineer... Am I wrong in thinking that it is currently "dirtier" to produce an equivalent amount of energy via electricity than just straight burning/combusting of fossil fuels? Im wondering if everyone went electric in the next 10-15 years if our technology for producing enough electricity for that level of consumption would have any net benefit on amount of fossil fuels being used. Sorry if wording is confusing, couldn't figure out a better way of stating.

That snowblower has the rubber blades, that just don't fly in northern Michigan. Gotta get the big metal blades to chew through the drifts and what the beloved plowmen do to the end of my driveway.
I love aspects of all 4 seasons in northern lower. Wouldn't trade where I live for anywhere! Besides the UP, but I couldn't have my job up there so here I am.
Here's to all of us that will be skipping lunch and slipping the headphones in at work and being paid by our bosses while we secretly watch the live stream of Signing of Stars! Plus run-on sentences!
If either one of us dislikes a name, then it is not going to happen. Outside of the laughs I've gotten from all the responses, I do like Fielding, Woodson, and Fritz if offspring is male, not sold on any female names with Michigan connections yet.
