Coaches' timeouts are worse. Basketball teams should get one, full stop.

I've always had a bad feeling about him not eating before games because by the end he must have horrible ketone breath. I feel bad for the sideline reporter at the end of the game that has to talk to him 6 inches from his face.

No. You're one of... How many people are there in Michigan?

Games are always skewed by free throws at the end though. A 3-5 point game frequently turns into a 10 or even more game in the last 30-40 seconds of the game alone. There's no way to account for this that I can think of without ignoring free throws in the final minute, but that's just stupid.

An interview I saw with the writer seemed to hint that more big names will be on board for season 2, which will stand alone as a separate storyline.

Running is not really much relative to what it takes to play basketball at a high level. He's going to have to bang around with some big dudes in the paint and make just about every motion a back can make, against resistance. Running isn't that hard on the back relative to this, and we don't even know if by running he actually means jogging.

I mean, you can throw statistical principles at me all you want but I would think any sports fan knows its more difficult to sweep a series than win one game. Emotion plays a big part and Staee will be amped up for another game with us, not to mention the word on the street is that Appling's wrist is feeling better. It gets harder to gameplan a team the more you see them because they know what you're going to try to do to them and they know your strengths and weaknesses that much better. What we could have going for us is that they might want to have the time off for their injuries to heal and are playin for a NC anyway. We're going for the trifecta.

Not all that surprising though for a team that hasn't been good in my lifetime as far as I can remember. Experience may be more significant in college Bball than any other sport off the top of my head.

Does the game tomorrow affect which side of the bracket Sparty is in? Id be much more worried about that. Extremely tough to beat a even a pretty good team 3 times in a season. Interesting sidebar question I just thought of when thinking about winning the BTT vs going out early and resting up: would you rather achieve the rare feat of the conference double or go to the elite 8 this year? I say elite 8 because I think final four is obviously better.

Well even so they're not gonna give him a big contract until they see if he can play, so might as well play that audition at Michigan and dominate his way to the big money.
|3 days 1 hour ago||I don't know why a team would||
I don't know why a team would take Mitch in the first two rounds without even seeing if he can play a game after his back surgery, let alone a full season. He would do well to come back and prove it, unless he really can't recover, in which case he should cash in while he can. Stauskas and even GR3 we can make up for, but all three would be very tough.
|3 days 1 hour ago||Was about to be like "why||
Was about to be like "why Lucas Perry?" For some reason I think of him as only playing here one season before transferring. Mgoblue informs me otherwise. I guess I just didn't follow the team as closely when they sucked.

Didn't Manny not even like Beilein's system? Either way, I'm putting Stauskas ahead of him. More complete game. THJ gets bonus points for leadership. Burke Stauskas Hardaway Sims Morgan. The bigs are tough. McGary had the best run last year in the dance but he just hasn't played enough to garner first team honors. No one else really wows but Sims was the man for awhile and Morgan, well see this week's posts for that reasoning.

All this seems reasonable, but you're forgetting about Hurst. He's definitely going to be ahead of Mone and judging from hype I've heard, might be even with Wormley. Probably depends on the spot. He's better in a nose role than Wormley I would think. I just hope Mone redshirts actually. I don't think he'll be more effective than Hurst and I want to lose a year of Mone if we don't have to.

Based on what I've heard/read (pretty shabby measuring stick if we're honest with ourselves) I'm not super enthused about the prospect of getting Sills vs some of the other guys we're in on, but unfortunately turning him away at this point might not be great for our relationship with the football factory that his father created...

Nevermind. Just finished reading and there was just no credibility to be lost. This honestly seems like it was written by a 5th grader. And not a 5th grader with good grades either.

Lost all credibility when referenced Gardner's "nonchalant" attitude in practice last season. There's just no evidence of that whatsoever.

These are horrendous. The best thing about them is the short shorts, because it means there's less of them to look at.

Good thing I didn't prematurely post a demand for a Dakich highlight reel. I was planning one after the first couple few gifs.
|5 days 10 hours ago||I don't really have a problem||
I don't really have a problem with changing the bball uniforms. Football yes, but basketball doesn't really have an iconic look. Small changes to the basic concept like the perforated design don't really bother me and I actually like these. My only problem is with the yellow color. Bring back our colors!

If we can easily stop a MLB blitz we will have a much better chance against Sparty.
|5 days 23 hours ago||Every college player's dream||
Every college player's dream is to play in the NBA. But if a guy was going to pull a Lewan, I think it might just be Stauskas. This team is very tight and the core is all Stauskas's recruiting class. He just seems to love playing with them and really wants to win a championship to avenge last year's loss (see post championship game interview). I think it will depend on how this season ends and what kind of taste is left in his mouth honestly.
|5 days 23 hours ago||If all we lose is Stauskas||
If all we lose is Stauskas after this season, we're in the black. Trade Morgan for McGary, trade freshman Walton for sophomore Walton, trade skinny Levert for slightly less skinny Levert, and trade just a shooter Irvin for not just a shooter Irvin hopefully, maybe get a few more active possessions out of GR3 per game, and we are a top 5 team easily. All we'd have to do is avoid getting hit by whatever nuclear missile so mangled the Spartans this year and we're golden.
|6 days 5 hours ago||That might be true but I||
That might be true but I don't know why he would disrespect Fish like that. They could have won a championship under him as well if one play had gone a different way. Additionally, I don't know that the Fab Five guys would've bought into Beilein's system. In fact, I really doubt they would have.
|6 days 7 hours ago||Agree to disagree, but I||
Agree to disagree, but I think the players would be a little more excited to learn their new system and be back on the field than they would be to learn two days worth of calculus. I just don't think they'll have to reteach that much. Review, yes. But they would do that anyway. It's only a week after all. I'm sure the coaches also factored in what kind of players they have and whether they'd be studying up over the break or just getting fat and forgetting everything.
|6 days 7 hours ago||Seems like Holland's making||
Seems like Holland's making moves just to keep the playoff streak alive, which is fine with me. This team is not winning a cup with all these injuries, but without doing something they probably weren't headed for the playoffs this year. We'll see if Legwand can affect that at all. I lean towards no unfortunately.
|6 days 7 hours ago||I'd say the exact opposite||
I'd say the exact opposite actually. I think it makes those two practices more useful, because the coaches can give a blitz introduction of the play book since we're switching schemes on both sides of the ball, then the players can study over the break with some good practical experience to reference as they're reading the play book. Plus the coaches can give them specific technique things to work on after not seeing them play for a couple months and can then start much further along when the 3rd practice rolls around. I like it.
