stop fuckin with the D
|3 days 5 hours ago||'fantastic' considering he has a||
very "meh" attitude towards Michigan in this preview.
For a team that he saved for the #2 spot for the Big Ten, and a team that he previously has said every time he starts thinking about previewing college football it "begins and ends" with Michigan, he certainly didn't seem very enthused.
You can tell when his mouth is watering when he writes about a team. I don't think his mouth was watering here.*
And aside from his obvious whiff on the D-Line stuff, which others have pointed out, his preview is generally very cautious. Maybe that's because he and others have expected great things from Michigan in the past and have come away disappointed.
He also seems to be catering to the doubters a little bit:
Overall I liked Bill C's preview, but I was feverishly waiting for it in the hopes that he would dispell a lot of my doubts and fears (Thanks, Michigan football PTSD), but I came away underwhelmed. He seems to be a little sleepy on the Wolverines. I'm left to assume he thinks OSU will crush it in 2016.
*Maybe he's just another Michigan hater. I dunno.

"Dunn with the run...at the 27 yard line...that makes it 3rd and long."
Sad PA announcer, he's such a homer.

|2 weeks 19 hours ago||Wow||
I thought for sure he'd go to Tennessee
His high school Top 3 were Michigan, Tennessee, and Auburn
I had Georgia or Florida pegged as a dark horse
|3 weeks 2 days ago||It makes sense||
that's he's the only nominee, or technically he was nominated five times... lol
However, I do think there are other coaches who could have been nominated even though no one comes close to Harbaugh's craziness.
Other than Harbaugh, here's who I would nominate:
2. Pat Fitzgerald
3. Mike Leach
4. Bo Pelini
5. Steve Spurrier
6. Will Muschamp
Honorable mention: Brian Kelly, Tommy Tuberville, Randy Edsall, Dabo Swinney, Mike Gundy, Nick Saban(?)

No. But that hardly matters when his quarterbacks go 12-0 and lead the Big Ten in total offense.
Spread QBs will always have a home in Meyer's system and will probably do very well most of the time. Of course, the same could be said for pro-style QBs and Harbaugh's system. ;)
Both are equally valid, but since Harbaugh is our coach, I'd probably favor Harbaugh's system more. Of course, part of me has always been biased against the spread for some reason.

I am glad to see there are reasonable people here with reasonable expectations. I honestly expected nothing but a posbang of "HARBAUGH!" comments.
And also apparently I am not alone in the PTSD crowd, which makes me feel slightly better.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Also||
So playoff or bust in Harbaugh's second year? This might just be the PTSD talking, but I think you're setting yourself up for some massive disappointment there.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||We've heard that every year.||
Boy, doesn't that sound all too familiar?

And get past Florida and Tennessee.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||We have been objectively more||
We have been objectively more talented than MSU for pretty much every year since 2000, and they've kicked our teeth in repeatedly ever since Mike Hart's comment in 2007.
Talent doesn't mean shit if you don't beat the fucking rivals.
BEAT THE FUCKING RIVALS.

I keep forgetting about you, Seth. You are the puppet master behind everything. EVERYTHING!
I get what you're saying about giving Glasgow preference over Beathard. However from a presentation/editorial standpoint, it looks like Clayton Thorton is the player being drafted/discussed by Ace because Ace drafted a QB and he's in the center of the pic. Just making a casual obseration.

The only mistake Ace made was putting a picture of a Northwestern QB when he drafted an Iowa QB.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||It looks to me like||
Ace is killing it, rather.
CJ Beathard (dude just led freakin' IOWA to 12-0!?!)
He's pretty much drafted everybody so far who's projected to be All-Conference.
Well done, Ace.

We need to walk the walk before we start pounding our chests.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||That's 100% a fair point||
See Gus Malzahn's Auburn in 2013.
(Technically not a first time ever as a head coach, but it was his second year ever, so pretty close.)
|4 weeks 3 days ago||I definitely have football||
I definitely have football PTSD from the Rich Rod years, the Hoke collapse, and going all the way to the App State debacle under Carr.
Part of me just refuses to believe in mega hype predictions now.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Georgia||
Georgia going to the CFB in Kirby Smart's first year ever as a head coach would be shocking to say the least. I do acknowledge that Georgia has the talent accrued from the Richt days, but is a complete n00b HC like Smart - albeit one who was groomed by Nick Saban - really THAT much of an upgrade from Richt, who took them to multiple SEC championships?
|4 weeks 3 days ago||I personally have mixed feelings about this||
I realize a nuanced view doesn't always sit well with the board. You start with a few negs and then it gets blown out of proportion.
On one hand, I want us to be good. I trust in Harbaugh and he has proven over 2015 that he is a competent coach who will improve the team over the course of a season.
On the other hand, this is exactly where I was in the offseason before 2012. I wanted to believe that Hoke was the second coming of Bo/Lloyd and that we were going to eat MSU/OSU's lunch for the rest of eternity. Obviously we all know how that went.
Harbaugh is not Hoke. Duh. They're worlds apart in terms of competency and resume. But what's the same is the ridiculous amount of hype going into the season. It goes with the terroritory of being a Michigan fan, but for once in the last 7+ years I really want that hype to be justified.
It just seemed like any time we got the slightest bit of hype or expectations the whole thing came crashing down. So I look at projections of Michigan being in the playoff and - while I want them to be true, I want to be excited - I also kind of want to leave a comment that says "Hope MSU and OSU don't blast us on the field for this."
I love Harbaugh and am glad he's the coach. I'll join anyone in the cultish chants of HARBAUGH that we all purvey on here, sure. But I'm also going to be at least somewhat skeptical of pure 'safest Playoff pick in the country' awesomeness going forward.
Let's just start with beating the fucking rivals before get all crazy about playoff runs.
Go Blue. Neg away.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Well said, Mrs. Rudock.||
Let me just say on behalf of all of us here that we really appreciate the great strides your son made under our program and the invaluable contributions he made to Coach Harbaugh's first year. Truly became one of my favorite Michigan QBs. And always a class act. You should be proud.
I for one am very glad he made the decision to come here as a grad transfer. I can not overstate how big of a help he was. :)
