|3 hours 55 min ago||I'd hope you wouldn't be||
No, I wouldn't. But for a guy who hasn't really done anything, he sure does get talked about a lot. People call on Sam Webb's radio show and constantly praise Drake Johnson and their argument in favor him adds up to nothing more than "Give the kid from Ann Arbor Pioneer a chance!" It just strikes me as local nepotism.
Honestly it doesn't matter much to me who carries the ball, as long as they produce. But if you want my preferences, I'm going with the guys I got excited about when they committed.

I'm actually not bummed that he didn't see the field until late. I know a lot of people have written off Green but I honestly prefer him as the starter given his pedigree.
I realize everyone loves Johnson 'cause he's a local boy, but if your starter is five-star Green, your back is a four-star #1 RB from OH, your third option is RS JR Justice Hayes (also a four-star), and your fourth stringer is a two-star from Pioneer, that's not terrible.

I have to disagree with this, because you're basing this criticism on 20/20 hindsight. If Gardner chucks it up, "see what happens" could mean an INT. I think he's been coached by Nussmeier not to make unnecessary throws. The draw didn't work but I think it was the right call. If you're carving up a team with passing, they're probably thinking you're going to pass on a third and long, in which case a draw makes total sense and has considerably less risk.

I knew, or rather surmised, that BiSB would win by a landslide even before I voted for him, so the results didn't surprise me at all. He offers a highly balanced offense that can score and the best defense of the group. I kind of wish he had some depth behind Gardner in case the worst happens, but I really like his team from top to bottom, and he's not inflexibly attached to either manball or the spread.
Well done, BiSB.

I found it hilarious not because Penn State selected a woman, but because Penn State selected Sandy Barbour.
Sandy Barbour is a terrible athletic director and has made every place she has been worse. She makes disastrous hires and then bolts before they crater. Practically every decision she makes is politically motivated (and I don't mean "office politics"). She practically destroyed Tulane's athletic department single-handedly and tried her best to unravel Berkeley. So, naturally, I'm thrilled that she's now the AD of Penn State, a place I hate with the fury of a thousand suns.

Meyer's a scumbag. How can anyone be surprised that he talks shit about Michigan to recruits?
I'm personally more surprised that a coach who won 24 straight games in his first two seasons feels the need to bash a program that is clearly struggling, instead of, you know, brag about being 24-0 for that time and 2-0 against Michigan. If Michigan and OSU were both undefeated and everything, then yeah, I could see the reasoning behind trying to get a few inches ahead. But this? You're 2-0 against Michigan, man. Get some ethics.

I mean, seriously, how can anyone think that Hoke blames the players when he fired his offensive coordinator?!

|7 weeks 4 days ago||My opinion on Brandon is mixed.||
First, I don't think he should be replaced. I think the good he has done far outweighs the things we're complaining about.
That being said, there are some things he could do better. Sending the band to neutral site games shouldn't even be a debate, for one. He could also maybe take some time off the "Brandon's Blog" thing and maybe be a little more hands-off the football program.
I don't think the Hoke hire counts against him. He followed it up with shelling out the cash for whoever Hoke wanted on staff. Not every AD does that. (Martin didn't do it for RR.)
I also emailed Brandon back in 2011 about the helmets being changed and uniforms going all yellow and how I was worried about this, and he actually took the time to write me back and assure me that, on game day, the football team will remain consistent with Michigan tradition and history. Okay, so some of it was a little condescending (we know better than you type stuff), but I was impressed that I even got a response. Most ADs don't give emailers (even if they're alumni) the time of day.
Do I think Brandon has some things he could improve on as AD? Yes. Do I think we should maybe back off him a little bit and appreciate the good things? Sure. He's not the monster or incompetent moron that some people make him out to be. While some of the people here might think that they could do a better job on certain things, I personally don't think any of us could do a better job overall.
Just my two cents.

If Michigan went 1-11 with the 1 being against ND, I'm pretty sure heads would be chopped off. And I don't mean the heads above people's shoulders.

Why are you so sure Borges said anything? He never struck me as the type of guy who "bad-mouths" even after he was let go. This wasn't the first time he was fired. He didn't bad-mouth Tuberville or Dinardo after the fact, so why would he do so here?
I know everyone hates Borges because of 2013 (the bad parts, anyway), but for Christ's sake give the man some credit as a human being.
