My conclusions are always bullsh*t anyway ;)
|2 days 3 hours ago||Ah. I see I made an||
Ah. I see I made an inadvertent swipe at ol' Rich Rod.
Here's a little clarification:
Basically I was and am of the opinion that after three years of having Rich Rod (remember that defense, yo) I could not see us ever winning a Big Ten championship with him. I did not (and do not) see going from two disaster seasons (3-9 and 5-7) to one equally disastrous but still slightly better season (7-6) as much of an upward arc. Hoke's record might technically be trending downwards, but his first two seasons were still competitive, and he at least wasn't 0-3 against MSU and OSU. He also replaced Al Borges with Doug Nussmeier. RR replaced Scott Shafer with Greg Robinson.
Not sure if that makes you see my point any more or less, but I tried.

My column on Brady Hoke over at Maize n' Brew made neither the mgoboard nor Brian's UV post. I am terrible at life, blogging, and everything else! 2,000+ words for nothing!
You may resume your daily lives now.

Wow. That was probably the most encouraging thing I have read about Funk in a long time.
Thank you, Brian.

I don't think we can say it's reached the point of being "already established" considering that most of these guys were freshmen or redshirt freshmen, and their ability or inability to pull is not a foregone conclusion. However, if it's true that no offensive lineman under Funk has ever been able to pull correctly, then I'm sorry but Michigan needs to fire that guy by lunchtime.

Wasn't he named after Schembechler? He's from Ohio and even though he went to OSU he could have come from a divided house.
|1 week 6 days ago||It was an interesting read||
It was an interesting read but incomplete.
He basically concludes that Lewan < Matthews/Robinson because he only saw one pancake block in five games. Also, he claims that since the offense was shitty he didn't get to see Lewan challenged all that much. Thus Lewan is worse than Matthews/Robinson.
Also, there seems to be a big mystery as why the TEs were being slid to Lewan's side. I don't think it's a mystery. It was clearly another instance where Borges was trying to out-outsmart the defense by making them think that we were going to run on Lewan's side.
And of course the only person Borges ended up outsmarting was himself.

Seriously, why does everyone love this guy and think he's a possible better pick than Lewan?

Clinton-Dix would be amazing for the Lions. I watched the A&M/Bama game, and Clinton-Dix and Mosley were all over the field.
If either one of those guys are available and the Lions take fucking Justin Gilbert instead I will explode in anger.

Does Jacksonville really need a QB? I mean they have Chad Henne.

Derrick Green running like a Boss. I think we can all officially agree now he was grossly out of shape last year.

As someone who gets up in arms quite a bit about the whole UNIFORMZ ordeal, I am not too bothered by a subtle pattern throughout the top (what you call "stretch marks"). I'd be much more upset if they messed with the color scheme. The "all maize" jerseys that the QBs wear (yes, I realize it's only for practice) look terrible.

Is it me or does Derrick Green look way quicker in that two second clip of him dashing to the endzone?

I once considered starting a forum topic saying Greg Mattison was retiring but I wasn't sure some people had the sense of humor to handle it as a prank.

This is probably the biggest thing that they do that pisses me off. Not only do they refer to themselves as "U of M" (or "the U of M"), they also call themselves "The U".
Um, Minny? Miami (YTM) would like a word with U.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I will admit that from what||
I will admit that from what I've seen Minnesota fans have been quite delusional, but so are the fans of Purdue, Nebraska, and Penn State, all of whom believe that their programs are good enough to be in the national title discussion.
Besides, the Big Ten in general is a conference of delusion. But yes, most Minnesota fans should appreciate going to bowls more, and they should have never let Glen Mason go. Hands down their biggest mistake of the past decade.
But before we shit on and hur-hur Minnesota, let's note that at least they had an offensive line.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Hey Brandon||
Excellent article. I really like the addition of "The Vibe" as a way for us fans to gauge an idea of where the recruit is in relation to interest in Michigan.
HOWEVA, IMO, I feel like many of the options are very similar to each other. 0 and 1 could basically be considered the same thing. How can we really know a difference between 2 and 3 unless the recruit specifically lays out a top ten? Would McDowell be considered a 4? I think most of us would cringe at the "tentative leader" part in that case.
Here's what I would suggest you use instead, although you can disregard if you are so inclined:
5: Michigan leads
This way you can give us a more precise gauge of where the recruit's interest lies, and most of these options can be based off the prospect's quotes.
Just trying to make things easier.
