| 2 weeks 4 days ago | Bullshit. |
If the league gave 2 shits about player safety they would strip some of the body armor off of the shoulder pads and dare them do continue checking as hard as they do now.
The players feel so safe throwing thier bodies all around THAT is why they hit so hard. If you take a layer of plastic out of the shoulder pads, you wouldnt see these hits from across the ice because the hitter would also risk getting injured in the process.

has the 2nd best save % in the major leagues since 2006. 2nd to only mariano rivera.
so he had a rough playoffs last year, would we have been to the playoffs without his solid year closing games? (only blowing 5 saves)

I dont think the question was unfair. As for him following it up, I think as a reporter he held his ground, and that is fair. If Boeheim didnt want to answer the question he could have always said "Im not talking about my future" and left it at that or hell even a "next" would work. Doyle had a point. While it was made a little bit harshly, they shove the mic in front of 19 year old kids and ask them about the future right after big games and losses, why can't they do the same to coaches, hell Mike Gundy would prefer you ask him, He's a man, hes 40, go after him, not his players...

| 6 weeks 5 days ago | well... |
to be fair, we did get #1 the same way Gonzaga got #1. Everybody ahead of us lost and we didnt. |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | my guess.. |
is that they likes laverts versatility to beat the zone rather than stauskas sitting in the corner.
whatever it was it worked. and he was still on the bench in uniform (not in warmups) at the end of the game. so I would guess not injury. maybe he was sick?

Unfortunately I give my boss weekends in non-football months so that I can get them off during the season. I havent run into issues really until John Beilein arrived on campus. Not that it is a bad thing, I just miss some of the best games live and have to watch them on torrent. |

"Voters may vote via an online system that allows them to evaluate players up until the day after the Final Four is determined. Voters choosing to vote by mail must have their ballots postmarked prior to the “Sweet Sixteen ” round of the tournament. The official accounting firm of the John R.Wooden Award, Deloitte & Touche LLP, tabulates all votes and delivers a sealed envelope to Coach Wooden for a televised announcement live from The Los Angeles Athletic Club. " - Direct quote from the Wooden site, for those that were unaware of voting deadlines.

"giving up on the team" which to be honest, this years team was the worst I have ever seen and was hard to watch, any different than those of you that were openly calling for our football coach to get fired midseason then hoping we lose the bowl game to seal his fate?
The difference I see is that instead of openly bashing this team, that set themselves up to be bashed all season (save the last month), he simply chose to not write about them. I say props to him for holding back the public display of disapproval every game for the team. |

I thought I heard about one of the other Adidas teams haveing the same issue but I cant find it with a google search. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | I wonder... |
I wonder how much of that will become a more frequent occurance with this system that favors guards that can shoot. Not to take anything away from the things he has done because Trey is simply an amazing basketball player and deserves all the praise that he is getting. In a prototypical set the PG is a distributor not a shooter first, as great as Trey is at distributing the ball, he also has free range to shoot in this offense and he utilizes it. Some if this can and should be attributed to Beilein's system/style of coaching. |
| 8 weeks 6 days ago | As I read |
As I read that chart I said this exact same thing aloud.
Pathetic. |

Another part of the lack of interest in youth soccer is that we also have 4 of the worlds best leagues in other sports in our country to draw interest and we have the financial means as citizens to pursue those other sports. Countries like Argentina and Brazil, the majority of the population doesnt have a pro football or competitive pro basketball league to aspire to play in nor do they have the financial means to play the pay-to-play leagues they do have on the same scale as us.
You see this in the inner cities of the US where the money is tight it is just that in the US the poverty strucken youth play basketball instead of soccer. All you need to play basketball or soccer is 1 other person and a ball (or some other round object) whereas you need many more people and equipment to play other sports.
just a thought. |
