Further than that - 3 Big 10 quarterbacks on that list have won Super Bowls. Go through and try to find another conference with more than that...

This is a list of starting QB's as of this week in the NFL by team and conference.
and the break down of starters per conference....
If you take Russell Wilson out, that still leaves 6 NFL starters. As many as any other conference on that list. You should really stop listening to Colin Cowherd...

It's not solid evidence or damning in any way - it's just some data meant to be viewed. Both teams have their flaws and I'm sure that both coaches are aware of these. I wouldn't be offended - I would just take it for what it's worth. Small sample size against a bad team. There are obvious disclaimers for sure (think Michigan 3 turnovers in the second quarter of the Miami game) and this game should be interesting depending on how the game starts out.
Also, it is probably quite telling that Utah hasn't really been challenged yet this year. If you aren't playing your starters in the 3rd and 4th quarter, how prepared do you think they will be come Saturday?
|2 days 19 hours ago||One more||
Also some interesting stats for their first two games, I won't summarize much because it's almost bedtime, but here's your link -
Basically they don't throw the ball well, they run the ball a ton, they don't force turnovers - but they haven't given them either.
Check it out for yourself, there's some really interesting things to exploit that I'm sure our coaches are already aware of.

What if the season ends with a solid defense (small sample size so far with two cupcakes and one unknown) and the offense shows decent progress? Would four losses be so unacceptable to throw it all away knowing the promise of what next year brings? Almost all the players returning on defense, a solid group of recruits that fill our needs at every position, an offense under the second year of a coordinator that seems to get it, and limited attrition through retaining a coach - it all seems like it could go to waste for the need to sell our souls.
I am glad you put this data together, it only reaffirms that while I may be frustrated, the wait should be worth it.
If this season ends up being a flaming pile of tires, then we will have to buckle up for the transition to a new head coach. I feel worse about this possibility than I do about 2015 under Hoke.
Thank you Reshp1 for your work, it was a really good read.

You make a great point if the recruits don't have access to the internet or the outside world. 31-0 says a lot more than some random poster/commenter on a sports blog.

I think at this point he might have gotten a better response if he pulled a Pelini.

We could go on about what the reporter "might" have asked all night. Let's just answer the question as it was asked for ourselves though.

Also - he better get serious about some of these questions. It has hit the national media now. Winning games is the only thing that will keep this from boiling over.

I just watched it and it was transcribed perfectly. I think you're reading too much into this from the article that was linked in the other thread. That article took his comment out of context. In context - it was as transcribed here on mgoblog.

Fact: Fans that bash players on twitter are douchebags.
Fact: Hoke was asked if the coaching staff was concerned about similar issues from last year.
Fact: These two things are separate because it wasn't the question that was asked.
If they had asked him how he felt about players being bashed on twitter, I would support his response 100%. That wasn't what he was asked though. He was asked if the coaching staff was concerned about similar issues from last year. I get it, you read the article linked in the other thread and are trying to connect the dots. I don't interpret the same way you do, but like I said above - getting bent out of shape about coach speak is pointless. Just start winning and looking like you have a clue and you can respond like Saban does at a presser (a callous ass) and nobody will care what answer you give.
|1 week 4 days ago||You kind of already said what||
You kind of already said what your message is to the team. As far as the fans that watch from the outside and see some of the similar issues that they saw last season, what would you say to them and how concerning is it as a coaching staff?
Comments like these are never received well by fans - especially when things aren't going great. He dodges the question by using the players as a shield. It was a question about how the coaching staff might be concerned with this. I believe in these kids, Brady - I'm starting to not believe in you...
I don't put the work in that the players do, and I am sure that all that hard work they do makes them even more passionate than I am. I had a broken feeling sitting in the stands Saturday night and it was only surpassed by the broken looks on the players faces.
Ask one of the players how they felt after the game, I'm sure they would not say "We played great. We were well prepared."
This isn't going away with coachspeak, so it is fairly irrelevant to get too bent out of shape by his obvious attempt at keeping it all together.
Did anyone see Bo Pelini's presser after the close win over McNeese St? He admitted they were outplayed and outcoached. It was actually kind of relieving to hear.

Today I pick up my JMFR shirt from the printer, which I will be wearing to the game. I am also hoping for a smashing defensive performance.

I think you're just bitter because when they announce today the players will be back, your youngest child won't be listed on their depth chart at safety anymore. I get it though, my shih-tzu went to a tryout earlier this week. She was pretty crushed when she got cut from their practice squad.

I have a few friends that are Notre Dame fans, and maybe it's just because they know I'm a Michigan fan, or maybe it has nothing to do with me being a Michigan fan, but the general impression they give me is that they are sad to see this series go.
A win would give Michigan a 10-9-1 record at Notre Dame Stadium, leaving them with a little more to chew on for the next few years.

Good stuff. I am probably as excited as anyone for football to be back.
Mgoblog content has been awesome this week! Great front page stuff and some good discussion on the board.
The line about not missing the BCS made me chuckle. Just the other day I heard two half wits talking about how great that system was and how the playoff would ruin college football. I guess now that they can't sit and complain about the BCS, they will complain about the playoffs. It make me relieved to know that I don't have to fill 4 hours of time talking each day - especially on slow news days. I'm sure that these two could have been found not so long ago complaining about the BCS.
