Thank you for the great information! I hope you continue to post as this develops.
|4 days 13 hours ago||You are correct||
Of all active FBS coaches, Urban Meyer has the highest win percentage (0.842) and the FBS coach closest to him is Bob Stoops (0.803). Other highlights include 2 National Championships and a 7-1 bowl record. If he isn't qualified to coach any school anywhere, then I'm not sure who other than Nick Saban (4 National Championships in the last 10 years) might be. I don't like Urban Meyer for obvious reasons, but saying he isn't elite is just not true.

*Texas has more money than anyone that cares about football. Harvard has almost 12 billion more and Yale is slightly ahead of Texas.
|5 days 13 hours ago||Agreed||
The top of the Pac-12 is pretty light on good squads. According to KenPom the top 5 Pac-12 teams -
47 Arizona St.
Compare that to the Big 10 -
2 Ohio State
11 Michigan St.
The top 4 Big 10 squads are ranked higher than Arizona's strongest competetor. It will be interesting to see how the Pac-12 looks after Arizona loses today. Caveat: it is still pretty early in the season, but still...

The offensive rebounding % stat is pretty crazy. I read Ace's preview and his comment about "put backs" but seeing side by side with ours really makes it jump out. McGary big game it is.

They both jumped at the same time, then continued to climb as teams dropped out.
|1 week 4 days ago||Auburn did nto receive any||
Auburn did nto receive any votes in the preseason poll. MSU was the top "vote-getting" team outside of the top 25. Auburn made their big leap up when they beat then #7 Texas A&M. That win moved them from #24 to #11. They lost the same day that MSU lost too (Sept. 21) and both dropped out of the polls. MSU didn't have a signature win until they beat us (we were ranked #21 at the time). The timeline looked like this -
Both teams continued to climb the polls as they continued to win; the difference was the big jump made by beating a top 10 team - which MSU didn't have mid-season.

And this is exactly the point. IU is getting better production with lesser talent as a result of scheme. I'd say that sacks are a very relevant stat in this case.

IU ran for 92 yards on MSU and their line is younger than ours. We ran for -48 with older and better talent. Let that soak in for a minute...

I agree with what you said. If he is silly enough to stay the course with Borges, then he deserves to lose his dream job. There are plenty of good offensive coordinators to be had to be this terrible at offense.

|5 weeks 4 days ago||As I sit here quietly||
As I sit here quietly contemplating yesterday's game (which was my son's first game at U-M), I can't help but wonder what our offense would look like under Seth Littrell (currently OC at Indiana). His starting starting offensive line has not one senior and his backups are mainly freshman. Tell me that Indiana's roster doesn't look younger than ours....
Yet his offense is rushing the ball for 5.4 YPC (U-M 3.2 YPC) and passing the ball for 14.1 YPC (U-M 15.6). For the entire season the IU offense has given up 14 sacks. We have 14 in the last two games. IU is averaging over 527 yards per game of offense while Michigan is averaging 385. I could go on but I will stop. Mostly because my Oskar Blues Ten Fidy needs replaced.

|8 weeks 4 days ago||Where does he sit next to||
He will be remembered as a great player at Michigan and be remembered for things like 2011 Notre Dame and 2013 Indiana. His legacy in the NFL is not yet written and will be up to him to write. I am glad he is a Michigan Wolverine.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||The difference with the NFL||
The difference with the NFL is that there are quite a few players just like Gallon in every draft, every year. Of those players, the ones that make it stay for several years. It's great to be proud of your team and its players, but at some point you have to be realistic.
He's 5'8" tall and weighs less than 190lbs. His 40 time is slower than the 5 recievers ahead of him that are the same height as him in this year's draft. I will root for him to become a future NFL star, but admitting that the odds are stacked against him doesn't make me wrong, it just means I understand reality.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Maize colored glasses||
His projected draft round is 6-7. That doesn't bode well for a player hoping for legitimate playing time.

A quick look at FEI rankings for Michigan and the remaining teams on the schedule shows the following -
So according to Fremeau, our most difficult opponent left on the schedule is not Ohio but Sparty. I say that because Ohio looks to rank about the same in offensive and defensive FEI as us.
