"What (Michigan coaches) told me is that they're focusing on point guards right now, but if anything opens up, they'll definitely come back on and recruit me as hard as they were," said Towns

Glad to see DB go... he clearly never understood what his priorities were, and what fans and alumni wanted. That being said, I think it is important to remember that DB deeply loves and cares about our alma mater. He accredited much of his success in life to his time at Michigan, and was a successful businessman we could be proud of. Sure, he wasn't a great AD and we are almost unanimous in wanting a change there, but let's not villainize him as an enemy. He's a guy who gave a lot of blood sweat and tears into giving back to Michigan... he just went about it all wrong.

I have to admit, as unprofessional and out of line as his responses are, I loved all of his responses in the "quit drinking and go to bed" email chain. Again, totally unprofessional, and if I did it in my job I'd be FIRED... but man do I agree with everything he said there.

Definitely count me as a "thanks but no thanks" on Mike Gundy. I would rather have Dave Brandon himself coach the team! But don't take my word for it, just take a look on the interwebs about the scandalous behavior of the football program.

Any time you can get Spartan fans riled up and upset it's a good time. And nothing says "I'm your big brother" like WRITING IT IN THE SKY above their heads like a freaking demigod. The score of the Akron game is irrelevant to whether this was a good idea. It was a GREAT idea. I want to see Dantonio glaring up at the clouds and shaking his fist at MgoGod for supporting the wolverines. The department is awash in a sea of money, and I can't think of a much better way to spend my donations!

Oops, someone beat me to my previous score guess of 76-72. I'll take 75-74 Michigan instead!

I'm going to leave the math issue alone (why the switch from $70 to $55?) and get straight to my point: this year's schedule is perfect. You have two body bag directional schools, one OK team, and one elite team. That's more than a lot of top tier schools are playing. As a fan, I would pay more to see Michigan NOT schedule an Alabama or an LSU. Why take the risk when few other teams do? We need to focus on winning the Big10. How many other Big10 schools are playing TWO elite programs per year? None.
There are enough elite teams between Notre Dame and the Big10 schedule to carry an undefeated Michigan team to the national championship game. Additional elite non-conference games, like the future Jerrydome game against Alabama, are a needless risk.

|4 years 16 weeks ago||Ok, you are disappointed. We get it.||
I was hugely in favor of giving RichRod one more year, and was very disappointed he was let go. That being said, my silver lining was that at least we could "unify the clans". In short: let's not do to Hoke what we did to RichRod.
Yes, we are the winningest program in history, but reality is that Les Miles, Pat Fitzgerald, Jim Harbaugh, and Urban Meyer all declined interest... and they are just the ones we know about. Does Brady Hoke have an elite resume? No. But has turned some bad teams around, and he has never been shy about loving Ann Arbor. If we care about Michigan, it's time to get over ourselves, stop hurting our own university, and give the new guy a chance.
