|1 week 21 hours ago||I was chatting||
I was chatting with a few of the alums/big donors the day after and the impression they got was that Schlissel essentially told them he would "handle it" (their words, unsure if that was actually used).
Grains of salt at secondhand info, but their impression was that he was just waiting to get a solid commitment from another AD and then would make the necessary changes.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Disagree||
Do you remember last year? Do you remember the level of frustration surrounding the running game? This year's o-line isn't great. Last year's might have been the worst Michigan has ever seen.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||This may be true in an overall sense||
But our DL, and in fact quite a lot of our defense, has seen excellent player development over the past few years. I love the dooming and glooming about the program as much as everyone else, but I think it's not completely accurate in this context.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||I thought this would work||
But looks like I'm still not sober.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||I prefer maize||
But calling it maize is definitely incorrect. So yes, I was the yellow one.
Ace got a pretty nice gif of me yawning at the end first home game against the opponent that shall not be named.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Yep||
Saw him in a sling on the sideline. He pointed and laughed at me. To be fair, I was wearing a teletubby suit.
Cool story, bro.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||His name was Alex and he was||
His name was Alex and he was awesome!
|8 weeks 6 days ago||I actually like this idea||
Maybe there could be beer sales at the stadium...but only pre-game. After the game starts, shut it down. It'll get people to the games earlier, they still have time to sober up before the game ends...seems like a win-win.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||totally agree||
I said this in another thread, but I think he's going to be providing that instant offensive spark we've had in the past couple of years from Irvin and McGary...except he'll do it by getting to the foul line.
Needs to work on that free throw percentage, though. Hasn't been great in Italy.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Donnal||
Despite some worries about Donnal, he's certainly an asset in transition.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Yeah, agreed||
Just checked out his recruiting post again, it said he was up to 340 with a goal of getting down to 315 during spring ball...which he got to! He might be the freshman I'm most excited about.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Sorry...unclear||
I meant he's unlikely to gain weight in college, and is more likely to lose it. That's just the obvious result of coming in at 320 or whatever he was.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Except Mone||
Hopefully! Although I kind of want him to be able to play at 300+. Boy just eats double teams right up.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Ugh||
That goatee needs to get gone
|8 weeks 6 days ago||cool||
OK, cool. Thanks for the clarification.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Haha...||
I actually also learned the word "hermeneutics" in my first year, but at Michigan (weirdly, a B1G school).
I also learned that actually using the word makes you look like kind of a douchebag. But that doesn't seem to be a huge concern of Joe's.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Didn't||
Didn't Magnuson play LT in certain scenarios last year? Like on the goal line? You guys were saying he'd never played it, and I think he has. Of course, who knows what positions the line was playing last year.
|9 weeks 3 hours ago||I'll be honest||
Doyle looks better already than Horford, particularly at hedging screens on D. Granted, this isn't B1G competition, but he looks much more fluid getting out and getting back.
|9 weeks 22 hours ago||Actually||
The third game got switched and was against an actual team in Italy's Serie C (which is basically their fifth level league: A, A2 Gold, A2Silver, B, C). So the team we're playing next is two-three levels higher than this team, should be pretty good.
|9 weeks 22 hours ago||Agreed||
We were only up 30-21 at the end of the first quarter.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||#2||
Meaning definitely not your favorite.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Doyle||
Doyle goes 15 points, 14 boards for the game. sick
|9 weeks 2 days ago||They can be cool||
They can look cool even if they serve a purpose that is to prevent people from being shitty.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||nice!||
The glass tunnel and bench overhangs are pretty cool
|9 weeks 2 days ago||MAAR||
I think MAAR is going to be super solid for us this year. He's going to come in off the bench, immediately drive and get fouled. His FT possession percentage is going to be awesome. A different way of heating up the offense than Irvin was last year or McGary was the year before.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Plus maybe||
We can do some sort of celebration for Rufus, since he's a folk hero around here:
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Hey guys||
Did you hear that Braxton Miller, the starting quarterback for Ohio State University's football team, hurt his shoulder and might be out for the season? This seems like it could have an effect on our football team here at the University of Michigan. Does anyone want to speculate about it on this site with me?
|9 weeks 2 days ago||This totally happens to me too||
But if we're listing things that I'd like to change, maybe it's not having to open a new tab every time I want to see an older board post?
I also feel like the site search kind of sucks. That might be a google issue rather than an mgoblog one, but it would be nice to be able to narrow options/sort more easily.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Wow this game looks like it||
Wow this game looks like it was a shitshow
|9 weeks 3 days ago||I agree with you on Campbell||
1. I like Cole more.
2. I think if Campbell had stayed with us, we wouldn't have gotten Cole.
3. If we don't get Cole, he goes to MSU or OSU most likely...whereas Campbell is probably going to stay down south.
That means we upgraded, plus deprived our rivals of a great player. Sounds like a win-win to me.
