I have been a big fan of X…

I have been a big fan of X for most of his career, but this year I am not.  I agree with a lot of what you said, but he isn't being forced into a high usage.  2 games ago, when he took 22 shots.  He had 7 at half.  In the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half, he took 4 of the first 5 shots, all of them coming in the first 12 seconds of the shot clock, one of them an air ball mid range jumper.  That is not forced usage, that is poor shot selection out of him.  He is now looking to do too much, not getting his teammates involved.  Too many times he runs off the pick and then tries to reset it a 2nd or 3rd time, instead of moving the ball.  Other times he gets half penetration, then angles away from the hoop to do his hook from 10 feet out, those are all bad shots, penetrate if it isn't there, kick and rotate the ball and reset.  Also, him trying to do the Harden step back 3, why???  He has attempted it 4 different times that I have seen, being called for travel every time.

Last year I said if X took 10 shots or more in a game, that game was more than likely a lose, and that is holding true again this year.  When we were being aggressive getting Teske the ball in the post earlier in the year, there was a lot better results.  Now he is getting less than 5 post up shots a game.

Is there any speculation as…

Is there any speculation as to why?

Not to thread jack this, but I cannot start posts yet.

Got a group of 10+ going to the game this Saturday @ Maryland...anyone been there and know where would be a good tailgate area?  A quick google search just mentioned the Terp Alley, but sounds like that is more family oriented.  They also mentioned some cash lots, but didn't clarify which ones or what to expect.  TIA

CANNOT overlook MSU.  After…

CANNOT overlook MSU.  After the pre game festivities last year and they way M shut them down, they are going to be coming for blood and revenge.  M has to show up with the same fire or else it will be a dog fight.  I expect to see some dirty shots from MSU, more than normal, in this one.  But as long as M comes ready for a dog fight, should be a 3 score game minimum.

Oooh nice.  I see a few have…

Oooh nice.  I see a few have to haves in this.  Those new "Swish" tees look good.  Also the boxed hoody and tshirt look good as well.  I just went on Nike.com (I have a connection to family discount) to see what was available on there and only a few of these items are.  Will have to order a couple for now and see what pops up on there in a few weeks.

I'd love to get some of the sweats but they way they wear now just suck.  What happened to the nice baggy and comfy sweats.  Now they are all form fitting joggers, feel like I am wearing nut huggers.  That seems to be the case with almost all sweats now.

That has seemed to be the…

That has seemed to be the mantra of this team.  Get to a sluggish start.  And so far this season it has hurt them in the big games.  This is another game that they cannot afford to start slow.  Need to throw that first punch and play with a lead in a big game!!

Paul is a SEC homer for sure…

Paul is a SEC homer for sure and I usually disagree with 75% of what he says.  But he does give props when they are due.  A week or two ago, he said that OSU is looking like the best team in the nation.  He also stated at the beginning of the year that Michigan has the talent on both sides of the ball to be relevant in playoff talks going into the OSU game.  So he gave props.  But he along with a lot of fans like myself feel that the results are not matching the talent that is out on the field every week.  This may be a hot take if you take it literally, but if you look at what he is basically saying, he isn't that far off base.

Two answers on this…

Two answers on this depending on how you look at the season...from here on out, extremely satisfied.  M would be OSU and MSU along with ND.  That is a strong second half finish and would mean that what M have been seeing up until this time.  But the season as a whole, I would still feel that M missed out on a great opportunity.  Because if M did that, then what was the product we saw vs Wisc and PSU and vs others.  Beginning of the year we were supposed to make a legit run at the B1G and contend for a playoff spot.  We are now 2/3 of the way thru October and we are basically out of the race already.  That is the hard part of it.

That is what I am hoping for…

That is what I am hoping for too, the 11's.  The closest ones they had were the win like 82's.  They had the navy on them.  I have some low 12's that are supposedly PE ones.  They are all grey with navy and yellow emblems.  outside of those, I don't think there has been a pair that I had to have.  I think some 13's would look really good too!!

I second this.  Those are so…

I second this.  Those are so much better than anything they have been coming out with.  There was a pair I saw the team wearing, some all white with the blue swoosh and Jordan emblem, looked like some old low air force 1's.  But cant find them anywhere.

Really???  Harbaugh is a…

Really???  Harbaugh is a better recruiter/coach combo?  So he would either A - have to have his teams outplay more talented teams, since he is a better coach or B just completely out recruit these teams.  And he is not doing either.  Saban is one of the best to ever roam the sidelines of college football all together.  Yes he lost to Clemson last year, who was arguably just as talented if not more.  But the product he puts out there every week is head and shoulders above what we see out of Michigan.  Michigan is 5 years in with Harbaugh, a roster full of his recruits and players and we have just witnessed one of the more frustrating/disappointing 4 week stretches that there has been in Michigan football in terms of expectations vs reality.  Harbaugh is a good coach, and does a good job at recruiting.  But he is not comparable to Saban, and its laughable to even try to put him in the same conversation as him.  In the 10 years prior to Saban, Bama had 3 double digit win seasons, they have had at least 10 wins in all but Sabans first year, that's 11 consecutive years.  Bama does play a pretty cupcake non conference schedule most years, but they also play in the deepest conference too.

Are we this beat up over a…

Are we this beat up over a true freshman RB that has averaged 4 yds a carry vs the two weakest and lightest front 7's M will see all year?  If that's the case, might as well pack the bags and set course for a 7-8 win season.  Feel sorry for the kid, and from his early works looks like he will be a real good back in the future.  But come on, he is a true Frosh.  If there are not any other viable options then this season was destined for dumpster fire before it even started.

Oh its unreal.  What I…

Oh its unreal.  What I thought I was going to pay, was tripled by the end of the year when you factor in all the travel expenses, stay to play, choreography and music charges.  Plus had to buy a hair piece because most of the other girls had them.  Its a total racket.  But she loves it, so I don't see an end to it for the next 5+ years.

Just got back from Disney a…

Just got back from Disney a couple days ago, was down there for my daughters all star cheer competition.  (don't let your daughter get into that unless you enjoy sitting around for 5-6 hours for 3 minutes of competing...and enjoy spending a lot of $$ on it), but she loves it so we are signed up for next year (which practice already starts in a few days), its a year round commitment.  Now get to head to Philly next week for my first of 4 Executive Leadership training classes.  Excited for what that is going to do for my career.

What would have been nice to…

What would have been nice to see out of the offense, especially yesterday with X being so out of sorts, put Poole at the top and run the pick and roll with him.  he is our best pull up shooter, can get to the hole pretty well and can knock down the three if they slide under.  His only issue is he is over focused on getting his own shot.  Our offense was predicated too much on X being the main ball handler.  If you look at the box scores, games where he shot 10+ shots were games our offense usually struggled.  Which means the D didn't help off their guys as much.  Putting Poole in the pick and roll can give us more options off from it.

We have one that is our…

We have one that is our fantasy football league trophy.  Sadly I couldn't repeat and keep it another year.

No way.  If Bama was to lose…

No way.  If Bama was to lose this weekend, they would still get in, even if they don't make the SEC Ship or lose a second game.  They only use SOS when it benefits them.  They will use the "eye test" and say Bama is better than M or whoever they jump.  M needs Georgia and LSU to have multiple loses and BAMA walk through the SEC.  If SOS was such a big deal for the playoff committee, they would not have Bama #1 and ND #4 behind a 1 lose SEC school.

I want to see a vanilla…

I want to see a vanilla offense, no special trickery out of the playbook.  But I would also like to see a more balanced offensive attack.  Get some good solid reps for the OL against actual competition instead of just in practice as well as see Shea and the WR get in to some kind of sync out there.  There are going to be games where we cant just line up and run the ball 2/3 of the time with continued success.  I want to see basic drop backs and show this improvement in route running and pass blocking that we heard about all off season.

What Caliber of coach is he…

What Caliber of coach is he exactly?  He hasn't won a damn thing, at Stanford or here.  You keep saying at his caliber, so what is it?  A coach that will finish 2nd-5th in the conference every year?  Hell, might as well bring Hoke back, you can save 2/3 of his salary/year to get those kind of results.  You act like he is some elite coach, but he has never sustained any success.  Had one good year @ Stanford, has 2 decent years here out of 8 years coaching.  He is being paid at an elite level, elite results should be the expectation and reality.  You can pay any young up and coming coach 1/3 of his salary and get the same W/L results.

You Tube TV

Its $40 a month, and you get all the locals, plus the ESPN's, BTN, Fox sports and others.  I "share" it with 3 other people (you can have up to 6 accounts), each account can have up to 3 simultaneous viewings going but can be logged on to unlimited devices.  You have an unlimited amount of DVR that is saved for 9 months.   My last cable bill was north of $200 for Direct TV before I made the switch, and even if I don't share the responsibility of the monthly costs, after internet I am cutting that monthly expense in half.  Then I just share Netflix, Hulu and HBO go with others and there isn't much I am missing.

I bought a new Durango last year and because of an ongoing joke with my wife (then fiancé), I named her Becky cause she has a big ole butt.

Agree with TELDAR

I second what TELDAR said.  His visit did not go well, he left with a bad taste in his mouth.  He is in my area, and i have connections with his family.  His sister was a D1 volleyball player at WMU.  Wisconsin was his dream school since the first time i met him as a Frosh.  It was going to be an uphill battle, but his visit did not help.  It will be a very tall mountain to climb to get him in this class.

Not wrong

He's not wrong.  M has won once since 2004, and 1/2 of those games were more than a one score game.  It was during the Woody and Bo era, and the Carr and Tressel era, but this game has lost some of its edge because of the sprial M has been on in this series.  Until M starts winning some, don't even have to go on a streak, but start splitting the games, it is hard to argue with that.

Things I noticed

Both of the teams have generally the same identity, or try to as M.  A strong D, and win the line of scrimmage on O.  But they do it way differently.

-Even though their concept was still to run the ball, they did it out of multiple sets, spread the D out more and then still went with the run

-Against that same point though, they both knew each other would try to stop the run, so to start the game the threw a lot of lateral quick passes to get the D to spread out more to open up the middle for them.

A lot of creativity in the sets without losing their identity which was nice to see.

Champs

Jeebus, Dabo won the conference in his first full season and in his 3rd, we have yet to sniff better than third in the division.  Also, Dabo was a position coach prior to coaching there, JH had the resume of what he did at Stanford and SF.  To expect JH to go through the same pains as Dabo is ridiculous.  It is not an even handed comparison, JH already had a stacked deck for him with his coaching experience and resume.  He is paid at an elite level with Urbs and Satan, we should expect elite results.

D-bo

We should quit comparing JH to D-bo.  D-bo first year was a interim partial year that he took over for little Bowden, he also won the ACC in his 2nd year as well has his 4th* year which was actually his 3rd season as the head coach.  JH hasnt accomplished that yet, still not better than 3rd in the division.  Also, D- bo didnt have the resume JH had, that was his first ever head coaching gig, he was only a position coach up to that point.  JH was put up on a pedestal and labeled as elite with the likes of Urbs and Saban, to now not expect those types of results is the problem.

BOOM!!!!

BOOM!!!!

Love it

Love the Block M with the wings hidden in it.  Also love the jumpman on the back.  It is not the dominant feature of the back of the shirt and it does not block any of the schedule, just adds a little more to it.  Now if they can make these in drifit so that they dont shrink weird or fade that would be perfect.

They used to

Michigan used to.  I remember as a kid going to watch Webber, Jalen, Vashon Leonard and a few others.  I think they played Indiana.  It was a route from the tip, but very entertaining.  It was played at GRCC.

Pudding

Proof is in the pudding.  Wyoming Public Schools did nothing when it happened.  They didnt take any action until the next day after watching the video when they fired him for using "excessive force".  That was in the original article that was posted before being updated.  This school is right in my neighborhood though I choose to send my daughter to another one in the area.  I have a lot of friends that are backing him that are linked to this school district cause he was a great role model.  Riley has always had violent occurences.  Years ago after his stint in the NFL he would frequent the Grand Rapids night clubs and I witnessed and heard about multiple occasions where he would lay someone much smaller than him out just cause of a look or someone would bump into him and spill his drink.  It came to a point where he was not allowed in a lot of the local establishments.  If he just tossed the kid to the ground to calm him down, no way would that cause bruising on his back like the medical records are showing according to Wood TV.  No one will really know what happened for sure until the video comes out but I would not want a school official to ever handle my child like that.

Years

Haha been a reader for years, just never comment...good to see a fellow GHHS in here...

Was a Wolverine

Went to Godwin, helmets just like UofM, same colors and everything.  We were above average when I was there but after I left won 1 game through 3 years.  Basketball was a different story, 2015 class B state champs.  Were state ranked when I was there as well but never made a deep run.

Ok so by what you are saying,

Ok so by what you are saying, when M plays the Akrons (App St) of the world we should not expect the coaches to have the team fully ready for a battle, with a full playbook, but just expect cause "We are Michigan" that we should roll by 30-40 points and come out with a small playbook.  Yeah that has worked out well in the past.  The coaches should gameplan and have the players ready for a 60 minute battle every single week, this is not 30 years ago where the helmet spotted us 10 points and playing a non-BCS school automatically meant a 30+ point win.  You would think week 1 of this season would have opened everyones eyes up if App St didnt.

That would be nice to see

But what, that has happened once so far in his coaching career, it isnt like that is the every year occurrence.  Prior to last year, in his last 5 years at Ball State and his other year at SDSU he has had a player other than QB go over 1000 yards 3 times combined(2 WR, 1 RB).  So that is a blind squirrel finding a nut, more than the norm.  Actually the year before, his leading rusher had what 559 yards????  Sounds like real MANBALL to me.
