The defense got better but the offense got much worse since the Caldwell hire. Stafford is the quintessential 'too good to get rid of but not good enough to win big with' QB. Yet, what Lombardi has done is just really bad so that's not helping. I'm not sure but I think it goes up to the Ford family. There has to be a reason why big names avoid taking the job even when we had a decent QB, Johnson, etc. HCs avoid Detroit and I've stopped caring why as in not a big NFL fan anyway.
|1 day 2 hours ago||No, I don't agree with John||
I know great HS HCs that would get curbed at any higher level. Most HS coaches are old player alums that never played after HS or you gey lucky and they played some form of CFB. Half my buddies are now HS coaches and zero of them would win a D-3 game haha

I've stopped caring about the Lions the day Barry retired. It's funny to me now. Yet, as a fan of any team would you want that duo? I'd love your input, Lion fan or not. I'd say "no". Obviously
|1 day 2 hours ago||Look at Caldwell||
just look at him at any time! He's just a spectator. He has that confused/lost 1,000 yard stare you do not want to see in your HC. Lombardi would be a HS coach if not for his last name, too.

is Rudock. He isn't some racehorse being culled back by chains and ropes lol. Millen was actually very accurate in his description of him. They give him half a field to process because he can't make progression reads fast enough. It's why he's completely been blind to a hundred open Butt routes, missed an easy TD on the first play against BYU, stares down his target, etc. He isn't even looking at half the field and goes to a predetermined target about 80% of the time. His ability range goes from: Atrocious - Above Average. A good game for him in the air appears to be: 0-1 turnovers, 0-2 TDs, 60% completion, 180+ yards and 0+ rushing. That's the best we've seen and the least we have to hope to see each game. That said, if he ever becomes the kind of QB that we view "good" games as his "meh" games? We could play with anyone, IMO. It happened at Utah but I feel like he'll cost us another game by just playing like trash or decent but missing a couple gimme deep balls.

|2 days 4 hours ago||If due to injury||
even when it's a rival I don't take pleasure in it. Now, I'm not going to let it be an excuse if we won but I simply never wish injury on players. We'll take all the help we can get so if he was going to get hurt anyway I guess I'd prefer he miss our game.
|2 days 8 hours ago||Yes||
going for 2, at Clemson, who will drop a dumb game or two.
|2 days 8 hours ago||A very legit NW, too||
I hadn't been "feeling them" but I finally went and watched their games. When they get average QB play they are a very solid team. They've had a couple games now where you assume "it's only a matter of time before they implode" but if it doesn't happen against us I don't see it happening. Their defense is solid and have really only bent to open offenses (which we're not). A lot like us, they need solid QB play or everything else starts to crumble. He can move (think a slightly worse Hill from BYU) and throw a decent ball. Their running game is open but strong and their WRs are shifty. If we shut down this offense I'll officially up my predicted floor of wins from 6-7. Defensively, they are fast and stout. They come after you and get there quick. We NEED to connect on the shots down field that will be there. Absolutely need to. Our game will break or prove NW, IMO.

IMO, no way both Baylor and TCU hey in. They have to win out and the team that does is in this year, IMO. In hindsight I think they know they should have found a way to add TCU last year. The NC jumped them but we all suspected FSU wasn't deserving and they weren't. TCU should have replaced the 3 seed, undefeated reigning NC, as crazy as that sounds. So, one of the two will get in if it's a battle of a couple undefeated or one-loss teams. If we win out (I don't think we will as I stand by 7-9 wins in the regular season) we're in. I think that would be outright fact based on who we'd have to beat to do so. If our lone loss is a playoff or ranked Utah? In over the loser of Baylor-TCU. The only way they both get in is if they are debating a two-loss school as I think the 2nd loss would be seen as weaker than no B12 Title game. BTW, my playoff prediction today would be (in order): BAYLOR, ND, TCU, UTAH. So, they are both in today but when they play the loser will drop out unless all around them take a dive.
|2 days 9 hours ago||I agree||
and said so yesterday. They may beat us but osu/msu are NOT 1/4. I don't know who is but at this point we know they aren't. Yet, because nobody has taken it from them they're kinda just sitting there. Awesome year to be a good but not great team. Ranked high in the meaningless preseason polls? Great! Keep barely beating literally anyone and you're in.
|2 days 9 hours ago||Yup||
until they lose they deserve the bump after crushing Ole Miss. Can't have an undefeated P5 below teams out of the top-10 with a loss at this point. They should be 11-13th or so.
|3 days 12 min ago||I don't disagree||
at all and I knew what you meant. I was just adding info. There were racially based rumors when he was hired so it would be a major story if let go after two years. National media will want to know WHY he only had two years, WHY he seemed to be on a hot seat the day he was hired, etc

seeing Kelly upset. I just do. I don't care how Clemson recruits, I love seeing ND lose and Kelly upset. It's his face when losing, I love it.

ND will win....lol. Watch. Bad punt it they'll keep running crossing routes for miles before being touched.
|3 days 44 min ago||Indiana and Purdue||
can go fuck themselves. ND only running crossing routes in comeback bid. Working due to rain. If they win they're my #1 team.
|3 days 51 min ago||IIRC||
OP also has migraine issues, like myself. If so, he wasn't joking about the headache thing as I can vouch. I've stated my opinion but they are hard on the eyes/brain. On the blue turf? I'd trade national secrets to avoid being forced to watch that lol. Still, law should say Hawaii has to wear those.
|3 days 57 min ago||Agree||
I think he loved his time there and Oklahoma seems to think they can do better every year. When Iowa opens up I think he's a lock.
|3 days 1 hour ago||For Hawaii?||
Perfect! I love those - FOR HAWAII. My brain thinks they're great if you want a migraine but Hawaii should have to wear those by law.
|3 days 1 hour ago||Never thought I'd see, say or hear that||
about a Patterson led TCU but it's true. All offense and the same for Baylor, they defend by scoring and hoping you mess up more on offense than they do. If ND pulls this game out they're my #1.....now I'm off to shoot myself haha
|3 days 1 hour ago||This time next week||
IMO. Too many Texas folk want the guy gone yesterday, if not the day he was hired. Winning is his only hope now.
|3 days 1 hour ago||I don't neg||
but I would if I could on this. Proves whining about not being universally liked/understood only makes you more disliked. Let it go. I don't neg but would neg this so hard. It's calling me....haha
|3 days 1 hour ago||Surprisingly||
he hasn't really taken the Texas recruiting world by storm. It kinda shows that race rarely matters as much as winning and program positivity/direction. The few black HCs in the SEC or south in general didn't get the advantage one would assume. Moreover, Strong just hasn't recruited very well overall at Texas (by ratio or comparison to his other job level:recruiting success). I think the state having 3 programs that are clearly better and no time to build have hurt that department. Recruits don't SEEM to be as concerned about race as it SEEMS many schools/fans are.
|3 days 1 hour ago||As much as||
landing the kid and coaching him to be their QB allowed. By that I mean he didn't "make" his success. Strong is legit but Texas never felt right. Some jobs are doomed to fail because they aren't wanted, supported or whatever from within and so they aren't given the time to catch up to the teams around them. He had to win ASAP and everyone kind of felt it when he was hired. Very RR-like (I've been done taking about him but it's similar). Winning immediately is the only thing that would keep him from being booted very soon and he's not winning, his guys or not. Rebuilding or molding a program is not something Texas will afford him. I think he knew the deal when he took it as many at Texas didn't want him.
|3 days 1 hour ago||It's what I said last week||
they'll fire him but they really shouldn't. They really shouldn't but it may be too toxic to continue in a few weeks if it already isn't. He'll go DC a power program for 1-2 years or immediately get another solid but not huge HC job.

but may have it because he was just here. Either way, can't knock rocking UM gear.
