but I've seen crazier things. I once saw an arrogant, CBB HOF level coach blame Bigfoot for a few losses so......?
|17 hours 15 min ago||"As said"||
meaning someone else said it. Different than "as I said". Or I'm confused about what you're referring to. Either way, what a waste of time on your end ha. imo, of course.
|17 hours 17 min ago||haha||
obviously. I don't think they are as strong as last year though. Record or not, I think they were slightly better last year and an easier schedule has them undefeated. Yet, obviously they can "ball" ha. I'd just pick us if we started strong or each team brought their best game. A win but close.
|17 hours 22 min ago||F'n||
impossible. Don't care who you are. Impossible.
|17 hours 25 min ago||yeah||
I'm aware. I think it has because it always had felt so true. However, while not arguing if put forth that no nation has had such a monopoly on "ease of life"as modern America. Even when other empires or superpowers ruled it was in times where only the very elite could spend as much time as the average American in such leisure. Or so it seems....
|22 hours 59 min ago||Yeah||
what kind of worries me is that the vast majority of fighting adults now (18-50ish.....worst case scenario) are just soft. Soft as baby sh....you get me. We rely so much on technology that another all out ground war with any nation capable of removing that advantage would weed out our weak so friggin fast. Imagine the people you see on reality shows being drafted to fight......anyone, let alone a China or Russia or whoever. We're so soft it's truly not even funny.
|23 hours 19 min ago||Record is mega due to their schedule||
but Witch St can ball. Hopefully we won't have to find out as I'd take us if hitting shots early (as opposed to waiting until down 10+ early like we often do) but their good game vs our average game would be a loss, IMO.
|23 hours 24 min ago||As said||
depending on region, a 1-4 seed are not much different. You obviously want the highest seed for ease but teams like Oklahoma St and such are going to be horrible "gifts" to teams in their region seeded in the top 4. Tons of quality teams newly recovering from injuries, finally starting to gel, etc that are going to be lower seeds. Those teams that on a good day for them/average day for you, can run you out of the building. So, no way we get to a 1 seed but 2-4 is not a huge difference. Burke half courters aside, we proved that last year.
|23 hours 35 min ago||Just to clarify||
I respect the modern military. I lost a friend in Afghanistan a few years back and have family that has served recently (none currently 95-2007). A family member of mine fought in Fallujah. They are heroes. However, it's different. I can't explain it, they both agree with me and admit it's two different wars/scenarios so they can't really be compared. All we agree on is that the WW2 generation and soldiers were special. A different time and people altogether.
|23 hours 43 min ago||Damn. Total respect||
for that man, his comrades and that entire generation. They finally got old Guarnere, this time. Not an ultra-religious man and don't want to break the board rules but "they", IMO, are not people as much as a place when talking about those like Bill. They weren't fighting guerrilla tribes or militaries dwarfed by our own. They were fighting well equipped, sized and skilled armies (some things better than ours at the time) in a TRUE battle for our own and World freedom. No knock on today's soldiers (!) but we haven't faced an opponent in the same league as us in a very long time. Bill's generation, those that stood toe to toe with powerful zealot militaries equally and often better equipped than themselves, deserve a special place in the afterlife (should it exist and be a good place). The term "hero" and "fighting for our freedom" gets tossed around a little too much these days, IMHO. In his and that generation's case it was literal. RIP, Wild Bill.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Do you still accept him?||
Absolutely. His future rides on the assumption he wants to pay in the NFL. No player is going to go to their 2nd (I assume) choice and actively work against the program. If he ends up here, it's a kid we REALLY need who likes UM. I think it's clear he wants or wanted msu but he liked UM a lot. In fact, many (myself included) felt we were risking losing him due to pretty much putting almost all our eggs in the Hand basket and then did even before Hand chose Bama. However, he liked UM. I think a better season (just by look, not even record) without msu also winning their first RB since I was 7 lands us both of them. There was just that perfect storm of our team taking a huge step back offensively, looking the worst defensively since Mattison arrived, and msu having a major bounce back from the previous trash season. I have to admit that their D last year was maybe the best in the country, a huge step up from the mediocre year before. Then, most shocking was the offense under an OC that was deemed a joke hire after firing the guy that led an inept offense possibly worse than ours last year, considering Bell was all they had, he had his wrist year due to NO PASSING GAME dispite an OL that gave their QB more time than Gardner ever got last year lol. Maybe not in the stats but the msu offense was atrocious, defense average. Last year's msu 180, our play and our assurance from everyone that we had Hand locked up lost us MM (imo). Our play lost us Hand (imo). Double whammy perfect storm. YOU HAPPILY ACCEPT MM if he decides to come! We need him.....badly.

let's change anything right now lol. Wait until we're killing it before throwing even a tiny wrench into a locker room b/c athletes aren't superstitious our anything. Let's change something.

First, than you for the info, well wishes and tips. Genuinely! To answer, I've been to a chiropractor. I went for a couple years and while it didn't relieve my migraines it did generally make my body feel better. Quite like having your whole body "cracked", ha. I felt loose and my body felt better but it didn't decrease my migraines at all. The other suggestion I have never tried in quite that way and I'll have to look into it. What kind if scares my about this news (urban) is that I actually have been getting more and more literal pressure on my brain. They claim they can't find anything but maybe they weren't looking for something like a cyst? Again, I'm just an average guy and I'm sure the HC at a major program has better medical access.
|6 days 6 hours ago||Why it boggles my mind||
over how anyone could give two shits about the NBA. CBB? Fine. The NBA is just a joke of a league. A draft lottery? lmao. It gives more, not less, incentive to suck. Then you have to rehash the same players, paying them insane guaranteed contracts and further ruining your team until you get one of the roughly 5-10 TRUE game changers. Used to be a game where most teams had one star or semi-star. Now, the stars want to pay together lol. For the last decade you knew what 4 teams even had a chance to make the finals before the season. I could go on forever. The NBA is possibly the worst pro league in the world.
|6 days 6 hours ago||Can we put the "what is Hoke" shit to rest?||
We knew what we hired. It was Harbaugh (I don't care what you heard, it was) or bust. When Jim probably laughed and then said "nahh, even if my wife did want to move and I did want to stay in CFB, nahh" we were left with a guy that would take the job even if we were on psu sanctions. Think about what he happily agreed to walk into. His traits were being likeable, a "Michigan Man" when the program wanted one and being an average FB coach. He is more of the general type of coach in that he surrounds himself with people he trusts and are as highly regarded as possible. He trusts them with the game plan and only interferes to call fakes or go for it, etc. He didn't wear a headset because he isn't coaching/scheming once the game starts. Many coaches have had great success with this method! Many. Most of them had enough time to recruit a few full classes, fans that didn't riot when the team was digging out of a ditch, etc. I'll admit that Hoke is about a C+ HC, A-/A recruiter and an A+ guy. He likely won't make it to year 5 without 9+ wins. I'll admit he isn't to the quality of HC befitting Michigan Football, IMHO. He's an average HC running arguably the most historic program in the country and its possible that he was hired just to get the train back on the tracks, so to speak. Hired to literally set the table for the next guy. Don't kid yourself, his tenure here is based on recruiting and the success of his assistants putting them in positions to win. Again, he is a figurehead/General/CEO HC. Whatever you want to call it. That is what he is and he has this next year (IMHO) to prove he can win that way. Is that fair? Given what he walked into, no. Probably not. Yet, coaches aren't given time anymore and especially at a place like Michigan. We knew what we hired. Always remember that WINNING SOLVES EVERYTHING. He is still our HC so, unlikely as it feels right now, he still has the chance to have everyone on his nuts in 5 years from now. We may also have a new HC this time next year. We'll see. Just don't fool yourself about who/what our HC is. It's no secret.
|6 days 7 hours ago||If for headaches||
I genuinely wish him well. To say I've suffered from migraines, absolutely debilitating migraines, my entire life is an understatement. I'm told time and time again that they cannot figure out why I get them but I'm not a millionaire coach at the head of a major CFB team. If he genuinely suffers from even chronic headaches (huge difference), I wish him well. Life with a daily migraine is hardly a life at all. I promise you.
|1 week 2 days ago||Exactly||
my first thought. Loss of loved ones is a terrible fear I have (think we all do but it's a genuine, daily, borderline OCD fear for me) and imagine that switch off events. To be in absolute loss and pain only to then get a call to be told "Hello. Umm.....I have amazing news for you. You're husband/father/sibling/friend is, in fact, very much alive and well. We made a mistake." IMAGINE THAT! Haha. 99.99999999999% of the time you hear that terrible news it's final. It's fact. Must be a feeling beyond happy to get that call. For the man, WOW. lol

My Brother was just admitted (could be op!) and as happy as I am (stated as much in another recent thread like this) he better realize what opportunity he's been given. Due to the hard work he's put in and the sacrifices his family had made to help make it happen over the years. So, if not my brother (likely not lol), take the same advice and realize you haven't crossed the proverbial goal line yet. Work hard & Go Blue! Congrats!
|1 week 3 days ago||agree completely||
about the word when used to insult. Thanks for the insight to your personal and professional life. Maybe in a school/public setting that should be the case as I was referring to random people that talk about my family member in everyday life. I truly think many do not realize that a diagnosis where a form of that word is used does not mean the person is void of being an individual. I mean it in the sense that it's not a death sentence, they often can function in some or many ways in society and are individuals not necessarily in need of pity......just a little help with things. In my case, they struggle in the age:behavior department. He behaves like a person half his age but he can read, write fairly well and is a huge UM fan haha. Huge! We talk UM ball whenever around each other. Hee knows who players are and such. So, it's not always this diagnosis that I think others think equals them having zero quality of life. They are there and I know are loved by parents, close cousins, friends, etc no differently than anyone else. They aren't vegetables. Totally different medical issues, ya know. So, when someone asks me with a straight face if he is retarded, I don't get upset as educational/social retardation is his diagnosis. Best wishes to your family.
|1 week 3 days ago||for sure||
The recruit train is absolutely sitting on the tracks. Not an issue with a good year. Bad/meh year? Board will be a battle royal.
|1 week 3 days ago||Yeah....||
it was gold when he'd arrived for the first year or two but if his "go to" continues to be his tenure with the Ravens, I have to think other schools already mockingly joke with recruits about it. I can absolutely imagine any of our rivals mocking it. I can see Smart/Saban asking Hand "So, which Raven did he compare you to? How many times and how quickly hahaha...?". It's getting to be kind of a joke because year 3 (soon 4) & we've looked NOTHING like the Raven defense even in trying. I know you need talent, players, experience, etc. Yet, it's not even the same system let alone the insanely ineffective blitzing.......when we do. Great recruiter & DC but that is wearing thin. Every DB = Reed. Every LB = Lewis/Suggs. Every DL = Ngata. It's time to just let that go unless the kid is a crazy Raven fan ha. IMO, Harris will be a season recruit. Repeat last year and we lose him. Have a respectable year and I think he won't even wait until NSD. He won't come here with a coach on the hot seat. Not mentioned but George Campbell is gone gone with our only hope being an unlikely NC run lol.
|1 week 3 days ago||Retarded is a tough one||
because it's an actual word. Even medically it's defined as "dulled, slow, interrupted, stunted or delayed mental, intellectual and/or social function". It's only offensive when used as an insult to someone that is not actually retarded. Calling someone you disagree with retarded is terrible but it cannot be confused with the politically correct treatment of the word lately. Phrases like "socially challenged", etc offend me more when people awkwardly avoid saying retarded when it's entirely valid. I also have a case of retardation within my family, btw. I'd be offended if they referred to them with that word in a negative tone but not if said as a matter of fact.
|1 week 4 days ago||no offense||
but I read this and immediately imagined the Game of Thrones scene where **SPOILER** Dbag Grayjoy gives that speech in Winterfell that appears moving. Then, at the end, someone knocks him out from behind and mockingly says "I thought he'd never shut up. Ok, let's go" as they drag him away, haha. Not because what you said is wrong but because it just read corny. No offense. Truly. I have no room to talk so no offense, just what immediately popped into mind after reading. Hope you see the humor.
|1 week 4 days ago||He served||
with more honor and passion than many of the higher ups in the AD, a HC (maybe two) and many players over his time. I truly cannot think of a person currently drawing breath that loves Michigan Football more than he. Enjoy retirement, best of luck and visit often.
|1 week 5 days ago||My younger brother||
just got accepted. I genuinely almost cried out of pride. Life hasn't been easy for any of us so, yeah, it was deserved and great news. It was tough holding back until we spoke and joked a lot about harassing Hoke/GMatt "good will hunting" style with my patented defense system ha.

get "sick" again real quick. He'd also want to spend time with family but take a job with ESPN, keeping him from home 5 days a week.

I had this lovely dream in my head when it was obvious that Jim was leaving Stanford. It was before Tressel was gone and many had already inked Jim to Michigan. I wanted nothing more than to see a cheating scumbag get beat down at the hands of a Harbaugh led Michigan team, have them meet at mid-field and SEE THE LOOK IN JT's EYES that spoke of his own impending doom. Cheating and all, I wanted to see Tressel KNOW in his soul that his sweater vest Bolshoy days were over. I wanted that to be read in his eyes after Jim led Michigan to an easy victory. It was all I wanted, lol. Then, NFL happened. Yet, I'd take the same with urbz as we're 1-2 under Hoke but urbz has yet to beat us like JT used to. Even this last year shit squad was one play away from winning. Jim would, now stocked with his kind of players, painanal his ass. I'd a dream I'll never see, sadly. /pardon my language.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||Loved Gallon||
but on the field he runs about a 4.8 40. Not knocking him but he is more quick than fast. Barry was the same. Faster than Gallon but ran about a 4.5-6 40. Hart wasn't a burner. Point being, he may have upped his stock (awesome) but in pads he runs about a 4.8. Many gimme TDs negated by being caught from behind by Safeties & LBs.

pretty much every drill he's been in. I'm not a big believer in ignoring a players CFB career/tape over combine performance but he is really screaming "I PLAYED AT ALABAMA" All-American.
