firing, hiring and hope didn't turn our OL into an average group this year, I'm ok with it.
|2 days 19 hours ago||didn't like this game||
before our first game, let alone nd. Not even being negative but I smell a loss. I just do. Don't ask me why but I have before the season. In fact, until I watched nd's first game (golson) I had Utah as our first loss. Just didn't like it.

(home side, 25, row 3) had a beach ball, a guy demanding the"M-I-C-H-I-G-A-N..MICHIGAN, MICHIGAN, MICHIGAN" chant and guy with cow bell. marshmallows are banned (I think) due to the field turf. I still miss real grass (they could have fixed that during the trillion dollar renovations) and real drum cadence. Much more, actually. Outside of big games it seems extremely sterile, IMO. For the first time I found myself thinking that if I didn't grow up a diehard UM fan and we're a recruit I wouldn't have been impressed with the stadium.
|3 days 17 hours ago||No||
I'm not a Debbie downer but that was NTM and we're f'n Michigan. I have spoken OP's exact sentiment so much and with the exact same exempted that it's scary. I know what he means, 100%. I've felt this way for a long time but the early 2000s really upped the "FOOTBALL IS NOT F'N HARD!!!1!" level. It seems as if most Saturdays find us being out coached, schemed and our opponents getting more out of their guys than us. Even the wins are often a case of having better talent, not necessarily scheme or prep. Finally, I'm sick of seeing MAC teams and low end power 5 teams with S&C programs that crush ours. Our bb program seems to have a better S&C program than UM FB does. It's not hard......for anyone but us apparently.

and nobody around me knew who it was. I felt kind of sad about that but the call was cool/funny.

I was going to make a huge (and rare) thread about this. We don't look (physically) like osu, msu, nd (sad), and tons of other programs with far less heralded players, resources and traditions. msu/osu have LBs that look like our DL/OL. Even their small speed guys are yoked up. I'm not calling it something their doing add much as something we obviously aren't. Peppers, in a few plays against a scrub team, looked physically like what those teams have everywhere on defense and sometimes offense. I'm talking build, age, speed, aggression, etc. Thing is, you can't recruit a team of those guys. You make them. We're not making them let alone coaching them. It's f'd up watching Baylor rocking yoked up everything with speed. It's f'd watching msu & wizzy basically turn into what is officially "the old Michigan". It's sad.
|1 week 5 days ago||In no way happy or proud out gloating||
but I'm marked in threads from the last few days predicting what happened tonight. App St 2014 is not the 07 version. In that game you could see glaring issues. The OL was no better (from an ability point), Gardner had a good day but still made some of those insane choppy/turn backward running decisions, etc. It was so easy of a game that the issues were hard to see but they were there. I watched the nd-rice game and immediately knew I'd be a shootout and I didn't think we could keep up. We didn't even take a few steps out the gate! Our defense is soft as baby shit despite two supposed "DL specialists". Age is no longer an excuse and I said that months ago. It just isn't working. We hired a CEO coach (fine when it works!) but he's turned into a glorified cheerleader. Finally, Harbaugh isn't coming. Miles isn't either. It's time to get the "Lineage guys or no support" types out of the AD and hire a sold coach. Hoke was right, This Is Michigan! It's just that it's clear Michigan deserves better. I'm not angry. This is no hyperbole. I was questioning Gmatt last year. We need a change. This isn't Michigan football and, be honest, never will be with this staff (some can stay but the main players need to go, IMO).
|1 week 5 days ago||that's the issue||
we spotted them 21. Can we out score them by 22 in one half against their offense? Heck, can our offense score 22 in the first place? Makes me sick how soft we are at times.
|1 week 6 days ago||No, I agree||
he'll take shit but mostly verbal. Is never do this in EL or Cbus (if that was the joke) as you'd get jumped by a bunch of drunken idiots and the police would let it happen.
|2 weeks 7 hours ago||Even at UM||
I always said he ran "read option spread 1.0". Teams like Oregon, Auburn, etc are on versions 8.2 and shit. He runs the same basic formula he helped make mainstream in FBS CFB back in the early 2000s. It might work but it's easier to defend with the defenses equipped to stop it now. Better teams can beat it up. RR needs to hit that upgrade button.

the imbedded image wonk makes sense but my goodness is all of that the image data in hex form or something? haha. It's always crazy long. Thanks for the info.
|2 weeks 15 hours ago||You think?||
He seems like he throws a decent ball. Well, better than 2 years ago but it was only one game. I could really be wrong here. That said, most teams find it hard to win when one dimensional. I think we could say the same for us in this game. Again, I'd live to be wrong! ha
|2 weeks 15 hours ago||Oddly||
I disliked her growing up until about 5 years ago when I learned her actual past. I truly thought (for 25 years) that she was just some horrid fashion hag. Then, I realized she was a comedian and a pretty ahead I'd get time comedian (especially for women). Then, I noticed her in more things the last few years where she was very funny. Very self deprecating, etc. She was awesome on Louie. I actually grew to respect her. It's sad whenever someone passes but I won't pretend I knew her, etc. Bad news, for sure. Just odd that 5 years ago this wouldn't have made me think much at all. I'd wouldn't have even replied. Now, it's a solid RIP and sorry to the family.
|2 weeks 21 hours ago||Totally not dick riding||
My 2nd most hated team but md basically built msu to have the mentality usc had back then. They have a swagger. They plug & play guys and they all play knowing (not thinking our hoping) that they will do their job, recruit rankings be damned. I hope Oregon drops 100 on them! I hope msu gets wrecked but they thrive off of the underdog mentality. This is one if the rare teams that won't be intimidated in that stadium, IMO. It doesn't fit the attitude of that program right now. Could win, could lose but I think it's close either way. I happen to hope they get whooped ha.
|2 weeks 21 hours ago||Thanks haha||
While those games are 8 years off, I don't like the feeling of this year's nd game. Not even going off of each team's first game but the feel. I don't like going against EG after what amounts to a mental RS year. He reminds me of a young Troy Smith in that he can throw but is more accurate than strong armed and he can run but is not a burner, rather a smart runner (if that makes sense). I don't trust us in road games, I don't trust our OL (so our offense by default) or our ability to stop their offense for 4 quarters. I don't "feel" a win but I know I'm a "moron" sometimes so...? Ha. I hope I'm wrong.
|2 weeks 21 hours ago||So very||
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||Also||
Not a Debbie Downer but I have a feeling we lose handily Saturday. I don't like EG. Said last year that his suspension was equal to a mental RS. I think he understands the offense better to properly use his mobility and arm when needed, respectfully. We won't see the EG we watched 2 years ago but a Troy Smith type, IMO. I hope I'm wrong but I don't trust this team on the road, our OL (therefore the offense) or our ability to stop their offense for 4 quarters. I think they pull away late. I could easily see it being a two score game. Then again, this game is always wonky and I really hope I'm wrong so......?
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||I don't get betting at all||
Just the principal of it, odds, etc. I'm a moron. Say a horse (or team) is 10:1 to do "X", does that mean you win $10 for every $1 you bet IF they do "X"? I kind if get lines. If it's Oregon @ +13, you have to bet that Oregon will win by 14+ to win the bet. In that case (if correct) do you simply win what you bet (if you bet $500 you win $500?). I'm an idiot with gambling so I avoid it lol. That said, I know football and I don't see Oregon winning by 14+. I actually think msu wins but while I hope they lose, it will be a close game either way, IMO.
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||(To app devs) Not complaining||
but I use the Android app and every time chief posts it shows a mile of random gibberish after the comment. Genuinely takes 5-10 full length page swipes to get past it all. It seems like a url or data of some kind as it's a wall of numbers, letters & the occasional plus. Does anyone else get/see this? It's only you as far as I've noticed (if that helps any coders or devs) but it's been a while now. I know when it's coming as the replies take forever to load even if it shows only a few replied. Is it possibly on my end? Just a heads up. Thanks.
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||So, in short||
I could see them beating Oregon (they don't like teams built like them) but I hope Oregon drops 100 on them lol. Forget conference perception. I hour they lose and lose big. Yet, I don't see it. They'll win or lose close, IMO.
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||This||
Honestly, before "The EL Longest Second" I would root for msu whenever not playing Michigan. They had the name if my state of birth in it so why hate them when not playing UM? Then that happened and I grew old enough to meet "msu folk". That's when it changed. That is when I found myself cheering for nd vs msu. Everyone vs msu! That next year we crushed their souls in AA (one of the few games Carr was out for blood, no gentleman coaching) and I bathed in the joy of it. Since the "ELLS" game, I never root for msu unless playing osu or if them winning a game benefits us directly.
|2 weeks 22 hours ago||He may see this and fill in the blanks?||
My Brother took that route and started at UM this year after going to WCC for 2 years (IIRC) & MCCC (for a quarter or semester due to medical reasons - long story). He's always been a very bright guy (!) but the "if accepted out of HS" thought is/would be, sadly, way off. He didn't finish HS. Not for intelligence reasons but many personal ones (I could guess but I won't speak for him). Truly a case of someone too intelligent to have a GED. Even if he had finished, I doubt he'd been accepted. I only say this because my recently graduated Niece had better grades, extracurriculars, athletics, etc through HS and she was denied by UM. She is now at another college (not a CC or State). I couldn't be more proud of both (!) but UM accepting more CC kids has helped my immediate family greatly. As of now he's at UM kicking ass so maybe that's a testament to or indictment of the public HS teaching system? Maybe it's an individual case? Either way, I'm glad they are doing this.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||My view||
is that you NEVER root fir osu. Ever. The one caveat being if it helps us in some way as that is now much more likely now than the pre-division setup. I won't go "full Dantonio" and root against them if them winning put us on the B1G title game, for instance. That sort of thing. Would be rare but I'd want then to win. Any other time? Never. F--k conference perception in their bowls, when they played msu last year I was a spartan for 4 hours, etc. Unless it helps Michigan, f--k osu. Always. So, I'll be cheering on nd (about to puke) heavily in those games. Yet, like when msu plays nd/osu, the silver lining is that no matter what I'll see a team I dislike lose.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||(on app, no spacing, cool story bro) I'm the same way||
and often worse. If I doubt get on top of a show I like right away I always take that route. I sometimes don't watch it until it's off the air. I heard so much love about Breaking Bad over the years but refused to watch it. I didn't have it spoiled but I viewed every episode in a few days the week after the very last episode aired. Conclusion? C+. Not that great, IMO. I didn't watch a single second of GoT until the "Red Wedding" episode aired and that was just out of boredom and all the hype! Nothing was spoiled, thankfully. I caught up to before this post season QUICKLY but chose to watch this last season in halves. After episode 5, I watched them all and repeated with the final 5. I can't watch just one episode of most shows I like. Next up are Mad Men (never watched a single full episode) & I want a comedy so likely The League (I have seen about 3 full episodes).
|2 weeks 1 day ago||LOL||
I knew about the contracts while playing but not that they were still paid after the NCAA threw them down the pit of almost no return. Crazy.

SUMS it up well. can't edit. My fault.

this and it up well. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I hope all is well||
Sad to lose anyone but it is a game and anything that would cause someone to take a total break from it has to be serious. I won't speculate. Hope all is well.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I think||
I know the exact feeling. It's hard to describe. It's a mix of heavy arms, awkward motion, anxiety and feeling weak. It's odd in principal but not occasionally dreaming of it.
