I don't think a Carr team ever successfully rushed to beat a replay review.
|1 week 15 hours ago||You remembered it correctly on all counts||
Also in the 1994 Illinois game, we broke open a close one with a long punt return on which there was an obvious (and key) block in the back.
|3 weeks 13 hours ago||It's an NHL rule||
Ushers are supposed to hold fans at the entrance to the section until play stops. Been that way in every NHL rink I've been to.
It's more of a hassle in places like Detroit, which must have the worst Jumbotron screens of any pro arena in any sport.

coaches aren't allowed to call them. They get around this by calling the kid's HS coach and saying, "hey, have pllayer X call us. We're interested."
College coaches also need access to the high school to do whatever academic evaluations the coach is going to do.
If your name is mud with the HS coach, the obvious way to get around the rule against calling the kid directly is shut down. The HS coach can either be very helpful to college coaches, or very unhelpful.

applies only to what the jury at the criminal trial is supposed to be told. The defendant is presumed innocent and the burden is on the state to prove otherwise.
Innocent until proven guilty isn't the rule outside that context. When it comes to expulsion/suspension/etc. if you're at a state college, you're entitled to due process, which may or may not mean you're only suspended pending trial. If you're at a private school like Stanford, you are entitled to nothing more than whatever rights they give when you sign an "I agree to be bound by the code of student conduct" paperwork.

He may not have won the NC again after 2005 but look at his teams after that:
2006: knocked out of NC game by upset loss to UCLA; finished #4
2007: upset losses to Stanford and Oregon knocked them out of NC game; finished #2
2008: upset loss to Oregon State kept them out of NC game; finished #2
2009: finished 9-4
Hard to say that his national recruiting didn't help given the razor-thin margin between playing for the NC or not in the BCS era.
Just lazy writing to say that not winning the NC meant that a particular recruiting approach didn't work.

and once you're into a quiet (rather than dead) period, campus visits (official or not) are permitted.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||not entirely true||
because the dead period doesn't prevent phone calls and in fact the normal phone call restrictions are lifted in the days around signing day.

I'm not sure you'd feel that way.

It used to be the "base comp" was all UM paid the coach and rest of the pay came from apparel deals, summer camps, coaches' show, etc.

Michigan normally ties buyouts to buyouts they've paid to others schools or hiring bonuses they've paid, which also makes buyouts more likely to be upheld in court.

That in my college days when we threw parties we never budgeted for potential damage.
Largely because people who were prone to do a lot of damage were never invited in the first place.
I get that frats don't control their members the same way. Explains why I never joined a frat.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||I read most of the thread||
and didn't see anyone really trying to justify their behavior. Mostly people flabbergasted at your shock that UM students were capable of such things.
Mix 18-21 year old guys in large numbers together with alcohol and bad things can happen.
Google the media coverage of the way people acted after UM won the basketball championship in 1989 as just one example. A police car was rolled through the front window of the First of America (I know its something else now) branch at the corner of South U. and East U., among many other things.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||Because the conduct happened off campus and outside Ann Arbor||
there won't be any school-related penalties unless the people in charge of such things decide that the alleged conduct shows the people involved to be a threat to members of the university community.
Fraternity members are no more representatives of the school than any other student is.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||In my time at the university||
I saw all manner of misbehavior from students, both those in fraternities and those who weren't. Fraternity stuff can be more destructive just because they tend to gather larger numbers of people together. Sometimes they may also gather more meatheads together than your typical student gathering. Certainly not always the case but it was in some cases in my experience.
I'm not sure why you think Michigan would be immune. Last time I checked they didn't have any morals testing as part of the admissions process - and drunk kids will do some stupid stuff.

he would have to, you know, be a grad student.
He would also not be allowed to participate in off-campus recruiting.

I got banned for questioning another poster's statement that John Wangler and 2 1990s era players were personally involved in undermining Rodriguez.
I asked if there was any, you know, evidence to support that and then my access to the site was revoked.
At least that's a good way to avoid dealing with the hassle of cancelling.

Which it's not.

It just depends on how much you're willing to pay.
$25 should get you within an easy half mile walk at Colonial Lanes or the old Kroger at Stadium and Industrial.. $40 will get you a lot closer.
(speaking of which, anyone know why that Kroger closed?)
|15 weeks 3 days ago||My 14 year old daughter was with me that day||
Her: "what is wrong with that woman?"
Me: "I am so happy to hear that you don't yet immediately recognize someone who is drunk. By the way, this is what happens when you let someone put a microphone in your hand in front of lots of people when you've had far too many glasses of wine."
