so now the backup is Bellomy. I don't think anyone will be clamoring for him...

|18 hours 41 min ago||what the rule doesn't say||
is whether, or when, an official should call an injury timeout for a player who appears to be hurt but remains on his feet. Remember that if they call an injury timeout for the QB he has to come out of the game.
They really ought to put some stuff in that rule saying when an official should call an injury timeout short of the player going to the ground. Traditionally, the officials have rarely done that.

are never going to be the cheapest way to get tickets unless you're following a team with an insane fanbase.
As a season ticket holder, I'm happy to see them do everything they can to fill the empty seats.

Michigan's School of Aeronautics and some of the planes that have helped protect freedom over the last century?
What a totally bizarre point of view. No other word for it.

with 20 seconds on the play clock, I don't really care how quickly the run the play from then. That gives plenty of time to read the defense and change the play if need be.
It seemed to me that they were getting to the line with 20 seconds on the play clock a lot more often Saturday than they had been the first two weeks.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Those rules were thrown out in 1983||
When the NCAA lost an antitrust lawsuit brought by Oklahoma and Georgia. Back then every school thought it was going to be able to sell its games on pay-per-view; what shook out was not quite that.
Up to 1983, the NCAA made the college football TV contracts, which limited the number of times any one team could be on TV.
Of course, ESPN, with its desperate need to fill all the airtime it had, didn't exist until 1981.

Considering that the only reason any reporter would ask whether Morgan would play is if he is hurt you're being far too literal in your efforts to take offense at Coach Hoke.

to adidas. Other than the money, that was the big difference with what Nike had proposed in 2007. Nike didn't want to give UM the right to say no to what they came up with. UM folks have actually been involved with adidas in designing most of the alternate unis the last few years. Jake Ryan's non-reaction to the UTL3 unis, which some folks trumpeted as meaning he didn't like them, turned out to be him wanting to see how others reacted...because he helped design them.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||The only Iowa game at Michigan||
during the John Navarre years was 2002, when Iowa pantsed Michigan in a rainy homecoming game, 34-9, with Michigan's only points coming on a punt where the Iowa punter dropped the snap in his own end zone which Michigan recovered for a TD and a field goal following a 60-yard scramble by Navarre that accounted for a third of Michigan's offense.
Hard to imagine their fans were doing too much complaining on that one.

Hoke says "well?"
If there was any question that this site has gone all in with "we're replacing thoughtful analysis with obnoxious snarkiness" as its guiding principle, that's it.

No way a Power 5 conference team wouldn't require a home and home? We have one-off games with Colorado and Oregon St. coming up in the next few years.

But the UM Athletic Department generates all of its own resources, from ticket sales, broadcasting revenues, and contributions, including the PSD's for football and basketball.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||The field hockey facility||
was built with donations made specifically to build that facility.
It was not financed "on the backs of football fans."
BTW, if you think Michigan's PSD's are high (they start at a whopping $70 a year for seats in the endzones), bear in mind that the PSD at Ohio State starts at $750 for a pair of tickets.
But hey, the meme around here is that Dave Brandon sucks so anything that promotes ANGER AT THE AD is cool, I guess.

They tried to charge $20 for their spring game in April, and cut it to $5 the day before the game.
Michigan charges a $5 donation that goes to the Mott hospital.

|7 weeks 1 day ago||Yost never really held 8,100||
The only way they could say that is that, pre-1996, the bleachers ran from one end of the building to the other, with close to a whole section of seats disappearing behind the end zone bleachers at each end of the stadium. It would have been like selling seats to stare into a blank wall.
And speaking as one of the few who regularly attended from 1986 to 1990, good seats were not hard to find. The MSU games were sold out (because the place would be half full of Sparties) but otherwise they rarely drew more than 4,000 people or so. It was starting to pick up in 1989-90 and then exploded the year after that.

Those things last forever, especially if you're not That Guy Who Wears His Jersey Everywhere and only wear the jersey to the games.
I can't imagine buying a new jersey every year in any sport.

he had been in the band as a student, and an assistant director after that. After the long-time guy moved on, he got the job. He'd been intimately involved with the band for literally his whole adult life. He was fully aware of the culture.
Also, a lot of what he did to try to "clean up" the problem happened in the last two months after he learned of the investigation.
