Shared an elevator with Lee Corso and Desmond Howard the night before the original Game of the Century in 2006. I am still devasted from that loss. It's really hard to feel so conflicted about a player like I do with Shawn Crable as he seems to be a good person. If only he hadn't made that late hit on Troy Smith...
I realized how old I had gotten last year during the Hawaii game. I have never wanted a game to end more in my life and then the 2.5 hour drive home almost killed me. Needless to say, hard pass on BG at 7:30.
I mean, nothing says Christmas like sending a dead guy down an elevator with a freshly broken neck, a Santa hat and the words "ho ho ho now I have a machine gun" written in his own blood on his chest.
I think at this point that Urban Meyer would be a no go for ND even if he became available. As someone living close to ND, I think that they feel more like UofM fans about morality than like buckeye fans.
I miss the old way that when you hit the "jump" button, it would take you to the expanded view at the very place where the text ended, if that makes sense?
My interpretation of "above board" : We need to take the real recruiting out of the hands of the coaches and put it back where it belongs, which is with the bagmen.
Curious if anyone wants to reassess what the Lion's chances are after watching Green Bay barely beat Jax after the Lion's win over a supposedly superior Colts' team?
that is the weakest taunting penalty ever, especially when you consider the uncalled targeting penalties in the Panthers/Broncos game on Monday night...
The Lions seem to be winning only because they have made no major mistakes and have found a running game. However, this game feels like the officials are looking for any reason to give it to the NFL's golden boy Luck.
Did anyone else notice that CBS went to commercials before 2 FGs and returned to the game after they had been scored? Hopefully Dan Fouts won't be a commentator for the Super Bowl and they can get their act together with the cameras, otherwise, it could be a real mess!
Don't considerations such as competition and playing time enter into your rationale? Playing time is nearly always considered a big draw to recruits. Also, not everyone wants to join a stacked team with practically guaranteed success. I think some might appreciate competing against top level teams where they would have more of a chance to showcase their talent.
I was at The Game in 2006 and can tell you that I never want to see our fans engage in the type of behavior that I witnessed there. Taking the long walk from our tailgate to the stadium, there was so much public urination on the banks of that poor river, I almost felt sorry for it. Several drunken OSU fans repeatedly got in our faces, attempting to provoke numerous fights.
The bar area surrounding the tunnel entrance to the stadium was complete madness. Mid-way through the tunnel, more fans got in our faces and spit in my girlfriend's face. At this point, I lost it and was ready to get my ass thoroughly beat-down by the mob as I got in their faces. Security was everywhere but didn't seem much interested in helping. Just then, an elderly OSU gentleman stepped in between us and began yelling at his fellow fans. Naturally, they shoved him aside, nearly knocking him to ground. Apparently, this was the cue that security needed as they finally intervened.
While I won't say that I will never go back to The Game in Columbus, it may be a long time before I feel I need to have another beautiful Saturday ruined again.
That game was one of my happiest memories as a football fan ever. There was a 12 year old boy sitting in front of me who was talking trash and swearing at me the whole game. His father thought this was hilarious and kept giving me this shit eating grin. I really didn't mind much as they were relatively harmless. Then as Michigan began their comeback, the boy and his father became noticeably concerned and began to visibly sweat. As I was leaving after that amazing victory, the last thing I saw was that father holding his son who was sobbing uncotrollably. Such a happy memory for me.

except for that whole losing to msu thing
this could be the greatest gif ever
All of us that were there did have something to do with it: 5 OSU false start penalties likely due to the rowdiest Big House crowd ever!

commence the melt-down you whiny bitch
Also, head of officiating in NY makes final decision, so quit being a whiny bitch.
they coughed up only 17 offensive points and you think that the defense is the problem? wow...
Yeah, It's so much better now without MJ, Bird, Magic. Now we have Lebrick, Curry and Durant? No thanks...
I was sayin this to man all night, tonight!
or maybe you have PTSD from all the years of watching the Lions lose games and have lost your mind?
The same announcer that keeps saying Irving instead of Irvin?

Same ol' Lions? I don't think so.

In a word: Yes
Watching that 1st half was a serious dong-punch compared to NSD and the Harbaugh Media Blitz this week!
Congrats on creating a trully useful thread! I would give you a +1, but am taking the slowest path to upvote privileges in the history of Mgoblog!

I asked a question and then after closer inspection, found my answer from Seth directly above me! Duh...

Not usually, but when they are rude, disrespectful 12 year olds, it always does.
