Interesting. I just called, and the response was "no, nothing has been processed yet, won't be until the end of the month." They wouldn't even look it up for me on my account number to see if anything had happened... I told them I'd read some posts on a blog with people talking about their upgrades and he said "no, nothing has been done yet."
|20 weeks 19 hours ago||Yes, I found that odd too..||
Look at his bio on various sources and it says he played for the Pistons, as opposed to being signed by the Raptors but not playing in 96. He was definitely on the roster and it shows his salary at 250,000 for the season. I guess maybe all I saw him in was warm-ups...

Mark Hughes, who was co-captain of the championship team, was signed by the Pistons and was on the roster in 1990-1991. It is noted in articles about him that he played for the Pistons (as opposed to when he was under contract with the Raptors in 1996, but did not play). I swear I can remember seeing him on the court, as I have had season tickets since before then, but I cannot find any statistics on him that year beyond his $250,000 salary....
|25 weeks 6 days ago||thought provoking, but...||
It's always too simplistic to draw conclusions when there isn't any real data. Take my son, for example, who is a senior at Michigan this year. He had student season tickets for his first three years, and did not miss a game. This last year he decided to try out for the MMB Drumline. Of course, they don't know if they make it in until a week or so before the season starts... so he had to decide what to do re a ticket. This obviously would have been a bigger decision if it wasn't for GA... he would have been gambling on losing his seat priority. He bought his ticket, made the Band, and was then stuck with a very difficult ticket to sell for the rest of the season. It wouldn't really seem fair to "punish" someone in this kind of situation for not attending the games (which of course he was, just in a different seat) by some of the methods that have been suggested -- such as not allowing a student to buy a ticket if they had attended less than "x" games the prior year. Obviously just an example, and probably an exception... but stil, there are often explanations other than "lazy."

Michigan Marching Band?? I'm sure they finished the season #1.
Sorry! Couldn't resist... MMB = Michigan Marching Band, MBB = Michigan Basket Ball

If you can believe this... when I watched the replay when I got home... it was much worse in person!

it won't be like the last bowl game, when you couldn't read the names and numbers if you were standing right next to them!!!

every Michigan game is meaningful. Not that I don't get frustrated with losses... but I go because... how could I not?
|33 weeks 4 days ago||Oddly enough...||
It is actually the Fiesta Bowl parade.
|33 weeks 4 days ago||I'd like to see...||
all the M fans in the stands cheering everything Michigan... the team, the band, the cheerleaders and dance team... and not have to listen to a bunch of whiny fans criticizing the play calling all night.

Talked to some K-State fans at the parade this morning who say the prevailing view from their side is that they just hope they can stay close and not embarrass themselves...
|34 weeks 4 days ago||also there the last two||
I second your comments concerning 2012 and 2013. Only thing I didn't like about 2013 (besides the loss, of course) was hearing all the ESS EEE SEE chants while exiting the stadium.
|34 weeks 4 days ago||my response...||
For me, Michigan resident, three reasons: 1) My son is a senior in the MMB and it will be his last game, and I can't imagine missing it regardless of where it is. 2) I told my son we would go to any and every bowl game while he was at Michigan, so even if he wasn't in the MMB we would have gone. 3) I would go to any Michigan bowl game, regardless of the location and opponent, if nothing else than solely to support the school and team, as long as I had the means. My frustration or lack thereof, with wins and losses, coaching, etc. is irrelevant to the decision.

Best of luck in the struggle, and let's hope the good trend continues. Having the right positive attitude always makes a difference regardless of the type of treatments, and hopefully your wife knows that there are a lot of complete strangers like me that are thinking of her and wishing her (and you of course) all the positive energy we can muster.
I wish that posts like this would make some of our, ummm... less tactful... posters realize that we're all people with real life problems and difficulties, and that sometimes being civil can go a long way toward making life easier.
|35 weeks 6 days ago||Just got there...||
The feeling is indescribable... to see the little up and down arrows for the first time. Surely it's as good as a night with Kate Upton. Ummm... NOT. Hope you get there soon.

to use some of the points from this posbang to neg anyone who whines and moans about the MMB not being [whatever]-enough. As an MMB parent, I'm tired of those who don't know bands from their butts complaining about how everybody's band is so much better. Hey folks... the vast majority aren't. So upvote me, MMB alumni, members, friends and family!
|36 weeks 7 min ago||I will gladly....||
pay you Tuesday, for a hamburger today. Well, not really, but after 4+ years on the site and wanting to finally have an impact on the trolls, I am going to post until I have enough points to neg the great unwashed. Your upvotes would be greatly appreciated to help me achieve this mission.

The alumni association has tour packages and eventually they will provide the schedule of events. There is an alumni association tailgate before the game... you can purchase tickets to that separate from the main tour...

On the outcome of the game, I'm relatively certain that there is a bit of an empathy factor, although I'm not sure exactly how it plays out. However, I can see it with me in a different context. Up until this year I've always been a major MMB fan (band geek in HS and my whole family has been in marching band). When people here would whine about the band (not loud enough, don't like the selection, show is too boring), I would get a little ticked, but not enough to comment. This year my son made the MMB drumline (just wanted to do it for his senior year) and I've watched how much and how hard they work, and the creativity of Dr. Pasquale as they have upgraded halftime shows and just put together an amazing ensemble. Now every time someone on this board whines/complains about the MMB, or talks about how Ohio's band is so much better, I want to take a 2 by 4 to the sides of their heads (and that's when I'm in a good mood). Thankfully my cyber control is intact, or I'm sure I'd be sitting in Bolivia cheering on the La Paz HS Marching Mariachi Band....

That show was outstanding, and this season's band is incredible. People should go to the pre-game rehearsals at Elbel and see the work they are doing. My (slightly) inside information has it that the entire season will have very high production value. Professor Pasquale is up there in top hires for UofM along with Greg Mattison.
|49 weeks 3 days ago||Horrible performance by the ND Band||
C'mon folks, it was a godawful performance by the ND band. CMU last week was a much smaller, but still superior, band. ND played at best high school literature (and needed sheet music to do it), and while some might have found it loud, I couldn't hear much, and it had no quality whatsoever. From my seats in Section 39, we had a perfect angle on the formations. It was a simple program and they couldn't even hold that together. Their diagonals were embarrassingly non-existent, they couldn't hold a straight line to save their lives, and many of the band members were out of step. I can't honestly come up with a poorer performance from a visiting band in recent memory.

Note that the percentage distribution rankings at the bottom of your page are based on June of 2012 data, prior to the changes for alums and letterwinners. Given that the median was about 20.5 prior to that change, expect a big jump when they recalculate.

Possibly an inch of slush on the sidewalk here in Royal Oak. Went out to shovel it and stopped when I realized it would be gone on its own by the end of the day. Closed the office, however, since everyone with a longer commute than my 3/4 of a mile seemed to be buried...

My son (current Music Composition major) played for him in University Band two years ago, and was very impressed. Reaction from the band members I've heard has been very positive. He has a ton of energy and will certainly put everything into putting a great product out on the field and in the stands.
