Dogfish Head 75 Minute this eve

I had some pretty file ales

I had some pretty file ales at Columbus Brewing Co.  Short and Liberty St., IIRC.  Worth your time and money in my mind.

Damn right - great game.

Damn right - great game.  Though I probably wouldn't hate the Hawks so much if I didn't live in Chicago.

Firestone Walker Pale 31 with Dogfish Head 61 later potentially.

I wouldn't screw around with

I wouldn't screw around with shipping from the online retailers, if for no other reason it will take longer than a week to get to you (and cheaper to buy the same products in-store).

I do stuff like this with relative frequency.  I would ask your Mom if there is a nice wine store nearby.  Often they carry craft beers and often they put together wine baskets (with crackers/cheese/wine/etc) and they sometimes have beer baskets as well - if not, you can ask them to put something together for you if they're a cool shop.

If this isn't an option, go buy the stuff individually (it's often cheaper anyway).  If you want to stick with Michigan (which, yes, you should) you and your Mom can find Bell's products pretty easily in GA (look here: http://bellsbeer.com/brands/brand-finder/ ).  Go find a variety of beers and put 2 of each in a basket with cheese/crackers/what-have-you, then give him the rest of them after you've given him the basket.

I'm also pretty sure Founders is in GA as well, so if you can find Bell's, Founders is likely an option as well.

Alright man, I'm going to

Alright man, I'm going to take a stab at this.  I'm assuming you have access to most of the awesome CA stuff (Alpine, Kern River, etc) on a regular basis, so don't worry about those.  Also, not sure how much you get to festivals like this, but if you're really into trying a lot of different beers, don't be afraid to ask for less in your glass so you can try more before getting blasted.  (also, eat a lot)

I'm a huge Bell's homer and do like Roundhouse quite a bit.  I've only seen it at the pub in k'zoo, so if you can, get a bit of that.  My sis also lives in Tampa, so I've had a fair amount of Cigar City - all their stuff is great, so be sure to get those.  (my reco is if you're going with someone else, have them get the opposite beer you do, so you can try both without waiting in line again).

I also love Dogfish Head generally, but 61 and Noble Rot aren't my favs- they're both solid beers made with grape must, so if you're into wine, I'd suggest getting after those so you can see what they taste like.

We get some Mikeller here in Chicago, but I've not had either of these - they make great stuff though, so I'd wait in line for those.

Odell!  Yes.

The beers from Revolution in Chicago are awesome, I'd say try to get to those early to make sure you get some.  They make a killer IPA (Anti-Hero) so between their expertise and FW's I have to imagine that collab will be spectacular.

Ditto the above posters thoughts on Surly - they mostly stay only in Minnesota, so now's your chance.  Dreadnaught is a good beer from 3 Floyds, but not my favorite.  If you have the time and your liver remains intact, go ahead and get some, but I wouldn't shove anyone out of the way for it.  If they DO end up brining DL and Zombie Dust, go ahead and push down that old lady - she'll understand.

Have an awesome time!  I'd love to see what you end up trying/liking.

I like a lot of beer from NH.  Beer is a matter of taste as we all know, but I venture that ABC only has two good beers.  We agree on Arcadia though.

Be sure to call the Binny's

Be sure to call the Binny's first.  Even the dudes I talk to there say the website isn't updated as often as it should.  The one on Clark had it the last few times I was in there, FYI.

I will suggest the Arena as better than both, but thats just me, its just down the street.  Good craft beers for cheap.

Sam Adams Octoberfest on

Sam Adams Octoberfest on special for $3 so had one of those with dinner and will probably crack a Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale in a bit while watching this game and working on this stupid brief.

P.S. I'm hoping that New Belgium coming to Michigan open's the proverbial door for other breweries from Colorado (<cough> Oskar Blues <cough>) to come in as well, but frankly the beer from New Belgium bores the hell out of me.  Ranger is a nice IPA for the summer months, but I can take or leave the rest of it (and I'll leave the Fat Tire).

I'm jealous.  I don't care

I'm jealous.  I don't care where you watch, I'm still jealous of it.
