I could have done without the kiss gesture by Stauskus. Some may like it, but I'd rather our guys not do stuff like that. Especially since we have another game against them coming up.
I get that people wanted Trey, but complaining every time he has a good game is getting a little old. Besides, if we weren't all being homers, we would complain he passed on Carter-Williams, not Trey.
I think Brian has to expect some backlash when he acts like he has been lately. I guess we are to assume he sat in the Big House today with his arms crossed, muttering how Dave Brandon has ruined his life, ashamed to be there, but feeling obligated to go, and just Knowing that stupid Borges won't get us a single point because he doesn't run the spread like Brian wants.Yep, what a Superfan.
Enjoy your cat, Brian.
Seriously, this epic whine-fest has gotten out of control. There are probably half the teams in the country whose seasons are labeled a disappoinment by their fans, I wonder if the self loathing is a fraction of what is going on here.
I get what the OP is saying to a certain extent. If you just look at YouTube, Green isnt really a "wow" type of player. "Wow" players on tape tend to be little guys who fly around making everyone miss and running all over the field. I also agree with Magnus that he is the type that will need a good OL, he isnt going to create yards on his own all the time. Thats why I'm not sure he would cure everything next year if he comes here. However, if he was running behind a strong OL, which we all think we will have for years to come, he could be exactly what we want. I'll trust the recruiting services and I would be beyond thrilled if he picks us, but I will agree somewhat that he isnt a lot of flash. Sometimes the great ones arent all flash.
As a GVSU guy familiar with BK and Chuck, I would be happy if they hired Chuck. He's a good coach, but not even in the same stratosphere as Kelly. He was able to go 74-7 at GV, but mostly because Kelly built the school into a powerhouse, he just didnt drive the program off the cliff.
And yet they still almost beat us at home. Look, I'd love to think Sparty will be horrible as much as anyone. But we've thrown dirt on their grave before. 2009 they went 6-7 and then had back to back 11 win seasons. I'd agree that they were a terrible team this year if they got blown out, but they had 5 losses that were within 3 points? Thats insane. I'm not going to argue they will be great next year, I just think its foolish for anyone to expect we will waltz into EL next year and put a whupping on them. Their D will be as good or better, and I cant believe their offense will be worse. That means they will likely be in a lot of games again..yes, including us. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm not expecting them to roll over quite yet.
I know its the cool thing to do, to make fun of Sparty, but dont for a minute assume next year will be a cake walk. First of all, they will probably be better, even without Sims and Bell. They played all year with mostly backups on the O-Line, had a first year QB and new WRs who never got on the same page, and their defense was nasty. Fast forward to next year, they return their OL, and get back everyone in the passing game outside of Sims. They lose very little on their defense. They wont be a great team by any means, but not horrible like some here like to think.
Add in the fact that we are playing in EL, and you know Dantonio will be game planning for us all year...its gonna be a war. Seems like no matter what, some people just cant help but have extreme over confidence when it comes to Sparty. We barely beat them this year at home when they were "terrible". Get used to this game not being easy.
Thanks. This is what I was wondering, if they had said anything about which bones were broken, if there was ligament damage, what type of surgery he had done ect.
I guess without an official explanation as to what exactly the damage was, we wont know until one of the coaches says something about it.
Alright, so MgoDoctors:
With a severe fracture like that, is there potential for it being an injury that could be career threatening or keep him out as long as an ACL tear for example? I assume that if the bone fracture were the only injury, that would be able to heal in time for spring practice. Then again, he may have broken the tibia and the fibula? Would that impact his recovery? Just curious as I'd like to think we could have a healthy Fitz behind Devin next year in case we dont get Greene. Thinking of Rawls taking handoffs behind a brand new OL makes me terrified.
I realize that there was a broken leg, or ankle..or something. However, what was not revealed was whether there was any ligament damage, or anything like that. I have no medical knowledge, but I would think even a compound fracture wouldnt keep him out 9 months right?
McGary would go high based on what? I've heard a few people talk about McGary as a future lottery pick and I dont see it. Dont get me wrong, I like his game and glad he is filling a role here, but I think too many people are wrapped up in him being a 5 star at one point. So far he has shown he can be a good rebounder and a hustle guy, but not much NBA game. Maybe in 3-4 years, but not seeing it now.
My hope is that THJ and GRIII stay. Burke is obviously gone, and I think with the way he is playing he will be drafted somewhere between 15-25, where last year he was viewed as a 2nd rd pick. The other 2 I think would benefit from another year, and its probably safe to say they wont have to leave because of financial situations.
In retrospect, perhaps my statements were harsh, but when the overwhelming majority of the board makes disparaging comments towards DB, it isnt hard to come up with the conclusions I made.
Eh. We all said they were done in 2010 when they went 6-7. Don't throw dirt on them yet, they return a ton next year and lost all their games by slim margins. (Outside of ND) The game in EL will be a war again next year.
Once again....for people making tons of comments about who gained and lost weight, this is what players were listed at 1 year ago, not sure why they put the old info back up. I have a printout from a year ago and it's the same. For instance, Talbott was listed at 248 before the season, and 260 during the season. I have a feeling he will be 270+ when the updated info comes up.
This is an old roster (at least as far as height and weight). These are what these guys were all listed as before last season. So I wouldn't make too much of it.

Well let’s find out..
(Edit, nope)
Can confirm that he has a big leg.
I was thinking it was the other Mike Miller.
I watched this way too many times.
Holy crap you are an obvious MSU troll. Your posting history doesn’t even try and hide it.
I’m liking this.
Too whiney; didnt
Yeah. No top end talent at all.

And apparently Hoover will be back as well. The only hope of their D not being very good again was if Narduzzi left, and that didnt happen.
Fonoti got a redshirt, he will be back. And Chris Norman didnt even start for a lot of the year, Taiwan Jones did.

I'll take it as a positive sign until I see him posing for pics with Auburn or Tennessee commits.
Smart ass comment aside, thats what was being asked. IF he was expected to fully recover. Got a link to this?

Only 4 references by Brian to "The Process"? Good to see he is moving on.

If you dont think his primary objective is to make the school money, you are naive.
This is an epic over reaction to nothing.
Never quite got over the Rich Rod thing, eh dude?
He's not a Sparty fan. As much as you'd like to think he's a fan of your "final four runs", he wears the S for "swag".
Haha..yes we are. I'm usually the last guy to talk trash, just had some MSU people get to me lately and had that on my mind.
