Not even a local guy,  any…

Not even a local guy,  any recruit.

I read the post 5 times and…

I read the post 5 times and cannot figure out how you jumped to that conclusion.   Athletes are overrated.   That's all I took away.

Maybe we are confusing…

Maybe we are confusing players, but Moore is left handed. He was unstoppable getting to the rim until they forced him to go right.   He made one tough layup over an M player and spun left on Wagner for an easy layup.   Wagner and the team should have been coached (scouted) not to let him go left.   He couldn't score late in the 2nd half when they shut him down from going left.

I think most reasonable …

I think most reasonable "fans" have pointed out the impact on his team/ teammates,  not on the fans.  I think you have generalized many people's reaction on here unfairly.  If I were his teammate and still had games to play,  I do not think my reaction would be necessarily supportive.

So anytime a player has a…

So anytime a player has a good game/ establishes their draft position,  they should shut it down, no matter where they are in a season? Clearly hyperbole but the sentiment seems to be you should always protect yourself in a sport that you could get injured on any given play.  Why play then?

One play does not exactly…

One play does not exactly refute his point of view.   No one on here knows who is play calling and when.   Cade clearly made plays that Milton was not making.   It matters less who was calling the plays.  Results speak for themselves.   We have had plenty of evidence now that Milton struggles coming off his first read,  not even mentioning his accuracy issues.

I think

He/she was implying that this probably has been going on for a while and Arizona has not performed well historically in the tournament under Miller.  I highly doubt Ayton is the first player paid by Miller....

Sorry,

I downvoted you so you don't get too high for your britches.

Chips and all

They have no purpose if they aren't mad about something related to Michigan.  Considering preseason expectations and beating Michigan, one would think they would be happy about the year they had.  Nope, an imaginary slight got them all worked up.

Or maybe,

Our coaches handled the team/injuries better than FSU. Given the talent at FSU, I don't think this is a wild thought...

FAU

But I think you give Lane too much credit. I believe he would definitely jump at a bigger job if offered. I doubt Lane has improved self awareness (IMO - unless you know him personally....)

Fair point, if true

But has this whole coach in waiting worked out for anyone yet?  If they had that guy, imo, they should have promoted him.  Lincoln Riley worked out well and he's early 30s (experience does not seem to matter that much).

It's not about him taking the job,

It's about why he's being offered the job.  I'm guessing he's making more money at ASU, so it makes sense he would take it (and coaching football reasons).  But why in the world would anyone think this was a good idea to hire him?  So many better candidates/coordinators out there that would take the job....

Possibly,

Our tight man to man coverage.  Opposing QBs seem to arm punt alot against us as we don't typically have safety help over the top.  It would be interesting to see drop back time before the release of a pass (for the other big ten teams and against zone/man coverage).  It just seems every time we get closer the pass is away.

Um, Michigan of the east?

Last time I checked, Harvard was in Cambridge, MA....

Agreed - great content/overview

Very well done and entertaining.

Thanks

Good write up. These "Fans" need to get better persoective and/or find a hobby.  These kids are clearly trying their best, no matter.  Many wanted Malzone, a kid that's never taken a meaningful snap.  The outcome does not change a fan's life whatsoever.  Fortunately, some fans will improve.  Unfortunately, many will not.  I can only hope for the former.

I thoroughly enjoy many on here that do not take personal attacks (of the players) or criticize every chance they get.  Thank you to those people.

Nonsense

I am sure you did not graduate from Michigan. You are completely full of it. No self respecting graduate would shit all over the program/University as much as you do.

They are not definitive

Maizen, why do we need to rehash this nonsense? If so, Alabama would have every title. Clemson would have none and would not even make it to the playoffs based on recruiting. Stop ignoring facts for your own agenda/unhappiness.

Go away. Find another team as you definitely do not root for Michigan. You are a troll.

Thanks

Michigan and Florida coaches are dumb.  Maizen you should start you own recruiting company.  Clearly superior skills.

Huh?

Do you mean Indiana (Warren Central)?  David Bell is out of Indiana.

I disagree

You should follow the Maizen way and create negative post after negative post until the team is acceptable to him.  Somehow continual negative posting will change our university's success...  Keep up the fight Maizen.

Road wins

Miami hasn't beat a winning team on the road.  Clemson beat Auburn on the road.  All per the chairman of the committee.

Not even outside those areas....

Very few fans within Tampa and Miami.  Clearly, weather is a reason but also transplants.  Sports aren't a big thing in Florida as compared to Midwest, for example.  No one ever goes to Rays games even when they are competitive.  Yeah, hurricanes are good this year but no one has been going to their games over the past two decades, unlike big ten teams.

Thanks for your thoughts

Much appreciated and provides some perspective early on this year's team.

I'm all about bashing

ND/Kelly, but I think it's a stretch to say he lucked into the championship game.

I'm happy our

RBs have started to break some tackles.  That is usually the difference between a nice gain and a big gain.  Yes, the OL opened some massive holes and the RBs picked the right cut, but RBs need to break tackles to really generate yards.  Both of Evans' long TDs included a broken tackle one on one (LB and CB).

Agreed

Each game matters now (for the most part).  Going to 16 teams means big games might not mean much when you have a error margin of a couple of games.  It will end up being a popularity contest with 8 or more SEC teams because everyone knows that is the best conference.

No thanks.

Terrible title / OP

Seriously, he hasn't hit 1000 yards.  Let's congratulate Brandon Peters on being drafted...

Stupid OP.

Thanks Matt

Always appreciate your insight/contributions.

Stop bringing

Facts to a hot take......

Without wasting my time,

Does this person understand players commit before their senior seasons?  Other than McGary, the rest were decent players but not that highly recruited by the top bball programs.  Heck, OSU passed on Burke.

That may be....

But like it or not, non-revenue generating sports (and the athletes) are not going anywhere.  Maybe football players should be compensated somewhat, but other athletes/costs have to be taken into consideration (costs, not just revenues).  I'm in favor of letting college athletes profit off their image/likeness, but that opens up a whole can of worms to allow boosters around rules and under table dealings (I know, which already occur but not as voluminous as it would)

Fair enough

But, I think the top three rounds is probably appropriate given the context here (competing for national titles, top 5 program).  In that case, your list is cut in half (approximately) based on your math.  The point is that OSU isn't winning with Ohio talent.  There are good players but the game changers are out of state talent.  One can look at Hoke's recruiting as an analogy.  Did well in Midwest but couldn't win consistently and definitely didn't win enough.  Yes, one could argue he wasn't a good coach, but Meyer is not winning as much with that talent as he is at OSU.  It's not a secret that talent in the Midwest is less than South/West.

Missing the point...

The key players are mostly out of state (other than OL).  Nobody is saying Ohio doesn't produce players/contributors, just not the top guys... Boss, Samuels, Thomas, Elliott, Roby, McMillan, etc.  OSU is winning with out of state players.  No one can really argue the importance of out of state players.

Your schtick is getting tiring

In the last few draft classes, how many OSU draftees were from Ohio?  This year, Conley (who was committed to us first, Lattimore (Glenville, where we rarely get players if OSU wants them) and I think Pat Elfein might have been from Ohio.  Fact is, I don't think the top players from OSU are from Ohio.  This isn't that big of loss due to our LB haul this year and it's one guy.  There are other recruiting loses to fret about, but this isn't one of them.

Huh?

Weird comment.  First, this guy is only one fan and not indicative of "many" Michigan fans. You can see everyone's reaction which is unanimously negative towards the OP.   Second, you have been on this site since 2012 and yet cannot make friends with many Michigan fans.  I think you are a sadomasochist.

Edit:. Sorry, I understand your sentiment but take offense to singling out Michigan fans. I like to believe a majority of us are decent, especially relative to other fan bases. Your point is any fan without self awareness.

At this point,

He's dug in and trying to set a record for negbangs. As someone mentioned, so little self awareness...

Yeah,

But this isn't the way to rehabilitate your image.  It shows a lack of maturity and frankly, empathy.  She was reporting / relaying facts about Seattle not drafting players with DV pasts.  He should have taken high road about learning from past mistakes.

Thanks

That makes much more sense.

Wait, are MSU fans

Now trolling their own university?  Why would an MSU fan send this to the police and note he was violating his bond agreement?  Doesn't seem like much of a fan to me....

Awesome

Thanks for the laugh.  Really keeping to the article/theme here.....

Have an upvote.

Living in NYC also,

Ghost of Fritz is correct.  Most people in NYC are pro football fans.  Very little care about college other than alumni/transplants.  Now, outside NYC, I can see Rutgers being popular in NJ (not upstate or any of the Burroughs).  The $ in the area cares about pro sports.

Not to burst your bubble,

But we didn't need Rutgers to have media expansion.  The Big Ten was strong well before Rutgers was added.

Exactly

Why people waste brain cells debating practice reports is beyond me.  I'll form my uneducated, ignorant opinions (hot takes)when the games start.

Sam was in Rome.  Cannot

Sam was in Rome.  Cannot comment on the other person.

The worst place to go...

Poor guy...

Her article on

Willie Taggert and Harbaughs is a fantastic read.  I hope she lands somewhere good.

Couple of points already stated

First, he's a talking head, entertainer who has made millions (he's been at ESPN 8 years, he's made a few bucks there) and will continue to based on his notoriety.  I give the play by play/game announcers credit as they do a lot of homework before games.  I have less sympathy for a guy who spouts hot takes without facts for a living.  He can easily get another radio job given his background.  The people who aren't Danny (not well known athletes) get my sympathy/empathy as losing their job requires a major impact on their lives.

Secondly, is it not interesting that of all the people to tweet their departure, Danny's was the only bitter/salty one (if you go through the deadspin list)?  Shows what type of character he has...

Championship game

I never saw the replay on the Collins foul but that was ridiculous.   Second half....that was number 4 on Collins.  There were a number of those whistles in the championship game where I think the refs had their eyes closed.   I'm not sure what the ref saw there....
