Why do people have to get so nasty about this question? Not everyone reads the messages boards every day, and to them this is a valid question. I am a computer programmer so I knew to look before I post, but if my dad were to become a cord cutter like I did last year He wouldn't know to check the board.
Heaven forbid someone may have to copy and paste a link, or even type it out.
I usually don't post much, but this one struck a nerve with me.
How do you know this wasn't a friend's computer that he was just trying to play a prank on? The friend comes home and sees his expensive computer gone and calls the police. I will give you a not well thought out prank, but it is a possibility that I am floating out there.
A similar situation happened to my brother several years ago with a friend’s car. My 18 year old brother thought it would be funny to take his friends extra set of keys and hide his car. The friend came home found his car missing and my brother was arrested for auto theft. Charges were greatly reduced when the facts were laid out, but the prosecutor wouldn't drop the charges so my brother ended up on probation.
You know what the results of the deal were, but you don't know the facts of the case.
It has been a rough stretch since this losing streak started.... It was great living down hear durring the cooper years, but alas, all good things must come to an end some time. There is a small resistance forming on this side of Toledo I know a dozen or so M fans in the Cinci area..
Part of my point was just getting a foot in the door.... I don't doubt, (in fact, I fully expect) that when the kids get on campus, or even after the initial visit they will become, not only great coaches, but also great role models and father figures to the kids.
I grew up a poor white kid in a black neighborhood. With a lot of these kids, and their parents for that matter, old white men are the cause of all that is wrong in the world.
I am not saying divirsity is even a black or hispanic coach, but having a someone under 50 on the staff could be benificial to getting a foot in the door. Do we really want the whole staff to look like they were in JoPa's graduating class, and then expect them to roll into South West Detroit and have the trust of the HS coaches, the kids parents, and the kids and gain the trust of everyone by saying, "Everyone on the staff looks like me?"
It just seems counter productive on the recruiting trail.
Let's start the back pedaling... haha... I always support the team, but was not happy about the hire... Hoke is growing on me, but with each new position coach he hires, I am more disappointed. I'm happy he kept F Jackson, but wish Barwis would have been retained.
What's inportant to me is success on the field and the charicter of everyone associated with the team. The charicter part I am not concerned about, but I worry about the success part. I wasn't happy with the results over the last 3 years, but I wasn't happy with the end of the car era either. (Maybe I just can't be satisfied) I just personally saw a higher ceiling with RRod than changing back to a prostyle O. I just don't want to settle for an 8 win a year ceiling.
Many of us are not happy about this hire. I love the program, and on the surface I feel like Michigan chould have gotten a better option for the HC.
That being said, give everyone a few days to vent, and I am sure that most, if not all of us will be back in the corner of the team, the coaches and the university. Not trying to speak for everyone, I will vent to anyone who I can make listen to me (supprisingly my wife and kids don't want to hear it.) and when it's out of my system, I will read everything I can find to get that hidden nugget of information that I may have missed about this team.
I have to say I'm not sold on Miles, but to me he beats Hoke by miles. (Bad pun intended.) That being said, The Big 10(12) has the signing rules will curb his over signing. I could care less about his Michigan ties. All I want is the best coach that we can get. Someone that will bust their asses to get us back on top of the Big 10 and the nation.
I imagine Bo rolling over in his grave by the way people twist the meaning of his words when he said, "A Michigan man will coach at Michigan!"
Thanks for the clarification... Like I said, I am in the process of switching to a Caffine free life, and in doing so, some of my thought processes may not be as sharp as normal.
I'm a bit confused. You may have misunderstood what I was saying, or maybe I am misunderstanding where your comment is directed. (Trying to get off coffee) I was saying that Lloyd did the RIGHT thing by staying silent. I don't know Lloyd, so I personally don't know if he was upset with the program or not. What I do know is that the worst think he could have done would have been to speak out if he wasn't happy.
The best thing Lloyd could have done was to stay quiet. It was a classy move. IMHO
I am having trouble recalling any negative statments that Lloyd has made in regards to the program or even RRod for that matter. Will you enlighten us?
In my mind he is staying classy. Even if he was not thrilled with the way things were going, he stayed classy and silent through the whole ordeal.
The one good thing that comes from coaching search nightmares is that Brian and the MgoCrew posts more than double... Even if each post makes our collective maze and blue hearts crumble a little bit more with each post.
