I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)

KFC cole slaw is edible? By 8 & 90-year olds I suppose.
I wish *someone* did a decent cole slaw. A good slaw I could eat every day.

I agree Popeye's flavor is awesome and probably better. But I find myself an hour or two later liking it less. Feel more sluggish.
|1 day 21 hours ago||you don't have a freakin' clue||
Let's try this again. I grew up in GP ('82 grad), my family stayed after I left and I still have family there.
Not once, not a single solitary time did I *ever* hear a Jewish slur or see someone mistreated.
In fact as a youngster the rotating presidency at Lochmoor was held for a year by a Jewish guy. Big hitting lefty.
|1 day 21 hours ago||crock of shit||
No head in the sand. I grew up there. I know damn well what I'm talking about. You're a BS artist with chip on his shoulder.

You're dinging the Pointes for something that happened in the *50's*? Really?
I grew up there. I have personal knowledge. I can tell you Jews were not mistreated nor slandered.
|1 day 22 hours ago||damn cake eaters||
As a GPN'er it pains me to say North is smack dab in the middle now. The cake eaters at South are definitely on top.
Vis a vis most other suburbs the Woods is still great. But it ain't what it once was. Decline started in the 90s when St John's started buying up and renting houses adjacent to the hospital.
|1 day 22 hours ago||a little different||
Back then, and into the 80's and 70's GPW & S were a bit different than your side of town. GPN was always a bit more diverse than GPS.
Actually, we had just one black family at GPN while I went there ('82). They were treated quite well. The father had a couple of feathers in his cap. He was a small biz owner like many in GPW. And he had been convicted of tax evasion. The one crime that warms the heart of a true GP'er.
In fact, older GP'ers on this thread may figure the name out. It was definitely in the news at the time.

Yes, we could ask the family of Dr Benjamin Gravel just how quickly society deteriorates past Windmill Pointe.
|1 day 22 hours ago||whaaaaat?||
Poor treatment of Jews in GP? First off, you could count the Jewish families in the Pointes on one hand. At least when I grew up there.
Second, the ones that were there had no problems at all and were in fact upstanding members of the community quite well treated. Perhaps you've heard of the Kricksteins?

Creighton's first season went pretty well. EMU now runs an offense recognizable to sentient beings.

Yeah, put me down for recruiting any lineman named Big Thick.

Upvoted for the avatar. Looks exactly like my son.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||no thank you||
I wouldn't have the guts to ask Big Ed why he & Bubba & Becker took their senior seasons off.

Anyone familiar with Baxter's Academic Gameplan thingy? Seems expensive.

This reminds me of why I looked sideways at da Bears. No way on Earth that HARBAUGH should have been stashed behind Mike Tomczak.

After reading this piece I just wish Brian could get behind HARBAUGH a little more.

No, GTV did not account for shot distance and proximity. Because in '85 they didn't have the kind of data available now. The GTV stuff is thrown into the dustbin of history:
Even Gilovich has conceded the importance of this paper.
The clutch hitting effect is really small. Take a .280 hitter and if he's clutch he becomes .281. Its that tiny. But it is real.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||that used to be the correct answer||
Turns out its not really that simple. For example recent evidence suggests there is indeed a "hot hand" effect in the NBA, once you correct for shot distance and defensive proximity.
And there is a clutch hitting effect in MLB. Its just so small you can't see it in a single player's career.

Problem with that is the notion that somehow Central stopped WKU in the 4th. Not really. The comeback started at the tail end of the 3rd as WKU led 49-14. They had the ball inside the CMU 10 and turned the ball over in the endzone. Chips get the ball on their own 20 and march 80 in 10 plays.
Later in the 4th WKU runs a throwback screen that gets a receiver loose and running deep into CMU territory. Chip defenders strip the ball from behind at about CMU's 10.
CMU never really stopped WKU.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||oh, some of us liked it||
Since I had CMU plus the points I thought the 2pt call was sheer *genius*.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||whoa||
Slow down there big fella. Let's not say anything you'll regret later.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||that took an effort||
You missed the point entirely. The Vikings were slavers. White slavers. The NFL honors the memory of slavers by allowing a team to be named after a people famed for taking slaves. If you think naming a team "Redskins" is evil - I don't - then naming one after slavers is a heckuva lot worse.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||sad||
Not racist. But if you have a problem with the Redskins, you should really have a problem with the Vikings. Why celebrate white slavers with their own NFL team?
|5 weeks 5 days ago||except of course for Dan Snyder||
What's wrong with the Redskins?
|5 weeks 6 days ago||yup||
That's a Golden for you. They're a bit more aggressive around food than the average dog. The following video demonstrates further:
Though that competing dog doesn't look like a Shepherd but a Belgian Malinois.
|6 weeks 1 hour ago||possible||
I found this hard to fathom myself. But there is recent precedent. Andy Reid spoke glowingly of Philly to Chip Kelly. And it really helped.
So I guess I'm saying there is a chance.

That's what you mean by problem solving? Sheesh. You're a creature of the State. Without it you don't exist.
