Obviously, everyone's battle with cancer is different and I don't know any details, but if it helps, my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 38 and lived another 15 years. Hope that's the case for your friend and his family.
Same, the road in front of my house was totally impassible until about noon yesterday. It was coming over the curb onto our front lawn, but given the slope of the road, it was at least 2 feet deep further down.
That's crazy. I'm in Canton, too, about 3 miles north of Arctic Edge. Right before the tornado warning was issued, we moved the kids down to our basement and just all slept down there. Made sense especially with the power out. The kids didn't know anything until they woke up this morning. Glad we were safe, especially with the weather from the night before. 8" of rain in 2 days! Unreal.
I'd say Cologne/Koln but it's a 4.5 hour drive from Hamburg.
With that said, I was there this past fall for a quick stop to see the Cologne Cathedral and it was worth it. The cathedral is a spectacular piece of history and architecture. There's also an old town and plenty of places to eat along the Rhine which makes for a pretty relaxing atmosphere.
You can blame me. We moved to Chicago in summer 2012, just in time for basketball to start its magical run to its first Final Four in 20 years. This fall, we moved back to Michigan. My family and I are very sorry.
Buffalo Joe's in downtown Evanston is a great place for wings, fries, burgers, etc. Bring cash, though.
Also, on the way up to Evanston, you could get off at the Berwyn stop on the Red Line and head over to Andersonville. Great bars and food, including Hopleaf, Jerry's, Hamburger Mary's, etc.
If you’re into hard-boiled eggs, try baking them instead of boiling them. Put the eggs in a muffin tin in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Then put them in an ice bath for 10. I find it easier than actually boiling.
Trading in my 1995 Range Rover (classic body style with the long wheelbase) for the more practical 1999 Civic with a manual trans. Values have gone up and it was so fun and unique.
And now I regret getting rid of the Civic when my wife convinced me we only needed one car in Chicago. That was just a fun, reliable, and efficient car.
My aunt let me drive her green 1999 Saturn SL2 around their development in Vermont when I was 14. Never went above 20 mph. My grandpa now has that car as his daily driver.
The first time I drove by myself was when I was 16 (in New Jersey, you don't get a license till 17) when I took my brother's car for a joy ride to a convenience store about 5 minutes away. That car was a 1995 Range Rover and eventually became my first car when my brother went to college.
Looks like I'll be watching the game from a hospital room...wife went in with high blood pressure, so they decided to induce. A Class of 2038 Wolverine should be born either today or tomorrow!
So, what's your deal with Croatia? I may be a little biased, but every team is guilty of flopping. And there are lot a more egregious floppers than Croatia.
I'm a little biased, but just do a Google image search for "Plitvice Lakes."
Also, the first time my parents took us to Europe, we stayed in this little Swiss mountain town called Murren. Still can't believe the views I saw and I'm planning on going back at some point.
I have to agree with Hopleaf and Half Acre, but I live in Andersonville, so I'm a little biased.
Half Acre does a brewery tour on Saturdays at 10am. $10, 3 beers, only the first 60 allowed in. Andersonville in general is awesome. Several great bars and restaurants with a small neighborhood vibe.

But yes, fuck cancer.
I feel like Rutgers 2014 was the rock bottom. I think that's when Funchess said "Wins and losses are just a statistic"
Ugh.

Back in `06, shot the breeze with Michael Phelps at TDs, He bought me a drink. That's all I got.
A couple of those were from Mississauga! Hopefully he can keep it rolling.

Either the Ferrari F50 or a Lamborghini Diablo
Matilda’s in Lakeview is another good one. There’s also a random one near Western and Irving Park, but I’ve never been, just seen the flags outside

Living in a city, it was exceptionally annoying

Ah, the refreshing power of the Harbaugh
