I’m from Fort Wayne, Indiana so a little different than most of you here.
l would have to say Rod Woodson since he was in the league for 16 years and is in the pro football HOF.
Current players I would say Jessie Bates III who is an all pro safety for the Bengals. There are some other guys in the pros like Jaylon Smith and then Kevin Kiermaier who won two gold gloves for the Tampa Bay Rays but not sure if those would count as big names or not.
I wasn’t expecting an embed tweet of Chris Renkel in this thread. I went to Ball State with him and have hung out with several times. Unfortunately, huge buckeye fan but overall is one of the better people you can talk sports with.
I was at the game yesterday. Really disappointing to see what happened. Refs were trash but there was no excuse we don’t win that game. This team has way too much talent to not qualify for the World Cup so hopefully we play well next week and get some momentum back.
I am not disagreeing with you but the top teams (Gonzaga and Baylor) have multiple big men who are extremely good. 10 minutes per game can make or break a game open, these last four minutes of the first half broke this from a manageable margin to being down double digits.
Unpopular opinion but Davis is going to prevent us from winning a national title. He just isn’t athletic enough to be on defense against competent big men. Other defenders become out of place and our defense goes to shit. Dickinson has to stay out of foul trouble.
I just moved from Indiana to Nashville in June for work.....I thought I was leaving the snow and bad weather when I made this move. Apparently I was wrong.
I live in Nashville and enjoy it. The suburbs of Nashville are nice areas as well, where you can raise a family if you do have kids. There are plenty of things to do regardless of what your interests are. There are also plenty of good bar areas outside of Broadway (Broadway is generally more tourists than locals). The restaurants here and the surrounding suburbs are good as well. Also, as others have mentioned having no state income tax is nice. The only thing that I was somewhat surprised about since I have moved here is how much it rains, specifically in the winter. It rains all the time in the winter. Good luck wherever you end up moving!
I was thinking the same thing, This game and Northwestern, the final four minutes weren’t pretty and makes the scores less impressive. However, every team in the country would love to have this happen so I’m okay with it.
I am not disagreeing with you that our program sucks right now. Today was an absolute embarrassment and I am not sure why I continue put myself through this every year.
I love both but Waxwings>Homes....they are putting out some crazy fruited sours and stouts right now. If you ever want to trade some Waxwings for 450N or Southern Grist let me know.
I was in San Diego two weeks ago for vacation. First time I had ever been there and Coronado Brewing was one of my favorite breweries I went too. Great selection of beer.
I went to the same high school as he did. He is a few years younger then me, but was a stud in high school. Hope he recovers and can get back to playing football.
I agree with you Hoek. For whatever reason, I am optimistic that he ends up at Michigan. Malik's recruitment has made no sense and no one has really known much. With that said, why not shock everyone and lead people to believe he isn't going to Michigan to then commit here. Also, I think his parents decision will have an impact on his decision and they love Michigan.
I don't really have a second favorite team in college athletics. I didn't even go to Michigan, but I could care less about what other teams do. However, I will occassionally root for Ball State since I went there. If this were to include pro sports than I would say Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, Pistons in that order.
I appreciate you creating this thread. I 100% agree with how instrumental he has been in helping our guards progress as well as they have. I know this has been reiterated in this thread, but thank you Butler for not hiring Coach L.
Yes I am very excited for the 2014 season now. It was clear Borges was a giant liability to this team. His arrogance led to our offense being wildly inconsistent. He never took personal blame for bad playing call and the whole mantra of "we didn't execute" was a terrible excuse for his failures as an offensive coordinator. We win the Penn State, Nebraska, and probably Iowa game if Borges wouldn't have been so arrogant. Hopefully this leads to more staff changes (Funk, possibly Mallory). Even if these changes don't happen, I still expect improvement next year. The offensive line may still struggle, but hopefully it doesn't struggle enough where our offense is largely incompetent like it was this year. Go Blue!
Thank God this happened. I was one of those worried that the Lions were going to keep Schwartz. Although this was a brutal sports year, at least we have a positive thing happen going into 2014.
Fire him now. No point in keeping him on any longer since the team has already quit. I have never seen a team with so much talent be as undisciplined as the Lions. Fire the entire coaching staff to be honest. Scott Linehan is a terrible offensive coordinator. I still can't believe how much Stafford has regressed throughout the year. The defense can never make a key defensive stop and have some of the most ridiculous personal foul penalties throughout all of their games. With Green Bay losing the divison has pretty much been given to the Bears. Makes me want to puke.
No it won't salvage the season, but it would be great to beat OSU. I would then wonder how we could beat OSU and somehow lose to PSU and almost lose to Akron and UCONN.

Obviously, this is just my opinion and I could be wrong. I am not here to argue or anything like that, but I would just prefer if Phil didn't win.
I wouldn't mind seeing any of those guys winning. I am hoping Steve Stricker wins though. Would be awesome to see him win his first major. Also, I agree with anyone but Phil winning.
I agree that McGary should have been the regions MOP, but Burke has been the heart and soul of this team all year so I don't mind him taking this honor. Also, that is an awesome shirt. I am still debating on whether I want to get that shirt or the shirt the players were wearing after the game. Hell, I might just get both.

This should have happened last year. Interesting that they chose to do this mid-season. Let the rumors speculate on who will be the next coach at USC.
